I think I found my new spot! I had the Grilled chicken sandwich. The chicken took me back to my childhood with the flavor. It tasted like the pinchos i used to eat when i was in P.R. Very well seasoned and cooked. The waiter was polite and friendly. It wasn't long b4 we got our order and they had some good music plying in the background. You can sit inside or in the patio in back. Overall it was a great dining experience.

Definitely a place where I can go to and I know the food and service will be great! It’s comfort for me and there is a variety of food to choose from no matter what time of day you are going! Family friendly or for a date night! They even had happy hour specials starting at 3 pm!

Amazing outdoor seating. The food was really good. Excellent food selection. I ordered the steak burrito and it was delicious. The steak was flavored very nicely. My sister ordered the chicken burrito and that was also really flavorful. The shrimp and and chicken empanadas were also delicious. Especially with the sauce they served with it and the orange sauce. Guac was also great. The waiter was super friendly and helpful with the order. He recommended a delicious dessert. Can't wait to go back again

This place quality of food hasn't changed, with all the pupularity it has they should make a new more flavorful and authentic menu. They don't even offer brown sugar for example, nor milk alternatives for their cafe con leche, which is so cheap in my opinion. I don't like this place anymore since is the same old, same old, even food has no flavor anymore. It's also pricey for the quality of food. The only good thing is the service, very attentive Latino force working there. I hope they pay them well.

We were in Chicago for a little four-day vacation. Hungry for breakfast on a Wednesday afternoon, we popped into Cafe Con Leche for some grub. It was packed inside, but we got a table quickly. Our waiter was wearing a mask, but most employees were not. It’s May 2022, though, so not mandatory. I ordered the Veggie Burrito. My partner ordered the Croissant Sandwich (minus cheese). Both dishes came out quickly and very hot. The potatoes came with both and were a very generous portion—as was the whole meal. Flavorful and not greasy. We loved them. The burrito and sandwich were both tasty. Good portions, well constructed, very fresh. The price matched the value. The only downside was how hot it was inside. It was a cool, breezy day, and it had to be 80 degrees in there. I am a cold person, so I was fine. I just took off my hoodie. It may have been a fluke that day? Not sure. All in all, we’d eat there again!

I've eaten at Cafe Con Leche a few times over the years when visiting Chicago with my partner. He loves Mexican breakfasts. We have been back again and enjoyed our breakfast. We ordered the vegetarian options. Great portions, very filling, friendly service.

Fantastic sit down place! A little crowded but it kind of added to the vibe of the place. I got the special which was a slowed cooked pork roast with purple sweet potatoes and it was delicious. Very creative appetizers as well. Ingrid our server was friendly and on top of everything. 10/10 would go back.

We were in Logan square for coffee but ended up at this small cozy Mexican place. The vibe is pretty amazing at the front or the back porch. Some of the just have are their on house margarita pitcher during happy hours and their tacos. To end with a perfect bang go for their chocolate cake and ice cream dessert. A definite place to go out with friend's after a hectic day or just to hang out and chatter away. ☺️

I was craving Cuban food so bad and this spot didn't disappoint. The staff was excellent and very welcoming. My drinks were stiff and delicious, we had sangrias and margarita suprema. My date had the bistek jibarito with rice and beans and I had the lechon which would melt in your mouth, also with rice, beans and the best plantains I ever had. Oh, I almost forgot the appetizer, the Guacamole and chips was so damn delicious 😋, you can taste the freshness in each bite. We'll definitely be returning.

We ordered a veggie jibarito, mole and margaritas and all of it was so good. Even the rice and beans, the seasoning is on point. Servers were sweet, our food came fast, and the ambiance/ decor is pretty.

I must say the food was absolutely delicious! The pitcher of the strawberry mojito is worth it. So tasty and packed with flavor the way I like it! The service not so great but upon talking with the manager, Geraldo, he took care of all of my parties grievances. I will come back soon to see if improvements were made so I can adequately rate this place the full 5 star I know it eventually deserves.

Really great tasting food! The service was top notch where they help you immediately, and they brought out the food in a surprisingly good time (went there around lunch time). I got the café con leche which was huge and pretty strong for my taste (I prefer sweet coffees), and the breakfast chorizo burrito was just tasty.

The food is incredible. That doesn’t even need to be expanded on. But the real star is the service. The gentlemen who was my server today is just amazing. I’ve had him multiple times that I’ve come here. True professional. The food comes out extremely fast and really is unique to most other restaurants serving Mexican breakfast. Great place to eat. We got our food really quickly too, which is always a huge plus. The service was wonderful. - Couple things to keep in mind: if you have a larger party you’ll want to make sure it’s planned ahead of time. Even then there is a really long wait sometimes (especially on Sunday mornings.) If it’s just 4 or fewer it won’t be too long of time before you’re seated. - Pictured below is the taco salad (which is always a good choice.) the other one was the media noche sandwich and fries. Enjoyable food and good atmosphere.

My bf and I LOVE this spot. I want to give it 5 stars, but after Covid-19 hit, the restaurant's uses PLASTIC for everything ( cups, forks, knives, spoons, the packaging for utensils and napkins) Soap and hot water is more effective than slowly killing us and our planet. Please stop being wasteful.

First time there and what a good surprise!

First, the service was wonderful. We were seated in the back patio and the servers were super attentive and friendly. Menus are available on your via QR link. We settled on appetizers and drinks. Their steak quesadilla was huge. Their ceviche is served with saltines and was exactly what I wanted. I'd definitely go again.

I want to give this place 5 stars. The first time we went everything was amazing. Even the service was 5 stars. The second time we went service was 1 star. Sat for 20mins before we even got water. A white couple that sat at the same time got water right away and ordered. Even had there food half way eaten before we said something to the hostess. Who ended up taking care of us and took our order. Some waiter gave us our coffees but had a terrible attitude. We won't be back for awhile. Regardless of how good the food was! The have some issues to work out!

I read the reviews and I was so looking forward to having a great tasting meal but this one failed. Cafe Con Leche is a very small restaurant with limited seating indoors. It has convenient parking and great service. A bit pricey. Beware coffee is served very hot! The breakfast food looks delicious but is very bland. Pancakes were cardboard dry and syrup was watered down. Also, no butter with pancakes and everything costs extra. One thing was perfect and that was service.

The steak was cooked Med-rare like I asked for except for some particularly skinny portions of steak. Yuka potatoes were very good though I could only eat so much because of my diet. But when pressed about something tasty she quickly chose the Carne Con Chimichurri. While telling me that is was her favorite, it felt genuine as she twisted about gleefully just thinking of it. I had to give it a try. The steak while good, felt like it was missing a bit of a pop in flavor. Thankfully I was given extra Chimichurri on the side. The fun busboy made me chuckle a bit as he took pride in the restaurant and made sure I had the steak cooked correctly at Med-rare not well-done. "I gotta let em know and educate" he said. Too bad I don't know their names. I'm just gonna make up names and call them Blanca and Hector ?.....? Sure enough this was a pleasing outdoor dinner experience.

My favorite restaurant in Chicago. Been coming here for 12 years. The orange hot salsa is my all time favorite. I also love pretty much anything on the menu. These guys have been there for me through it all. Even the pandemic. They served it up and still goin. Thanks you guys.

The side of potatoes admittedly leaves a little to be desired from a flavor perspective, but besides that it was a fantastic meal. With outdoor seating both in front and behind the restaurant, this is a great option for your summer brunch.

I used to absolutely love this spot! I ordered there at least twice a day in the past and since I moved i hadn’t had a chance to taste their chilaquiles until today. Literally the worst experience ever. Chilaquiles had no sauce. We’re completely dry and plain. The steak was dry and not seasoned. And when I called in to workout some kind of reimbursement, the lady on the phone was laughing then put me on hold for whatever reason. I find It highly unprofessional to handle phone calls regarding a customer escalation the way I experienced. I’m never returning here again as there are so many better restaurants in the city. My server was not nice. I place my order, 3 empanadas. Two tinga and one beef. I shorty not even a min later called the server to change it to one of each, and he said “sorry I placed the order already” did NOT care to change it giving the fact that it hasn't even been.one min, I didn't think it was gonna be a problem. I was surprised the effort.they give to satisfy the customers. My food was not tasty at all. The quality was very disappointing. There omelets don't even come with pancakes, everything is separate. Please check there menu before coming in here.

We had a wonderful dinner with out of town friends @ Cafe Con Leche with Alberto as our server. The goat cheese quesadilla & guacamole and chips appetizers with a variety of cocktails and beers were very nice. I enjoyed the salmon, while my sister and friend really raved about the trout special. We will definitely return to this restaurant in a lively section of Logan Square in Chicago. Recommended for couples, groups and families.

Over priced breakfast. Coffee was good, and waiters were cordial, but way too expensive for tiny, semi warm portions.

What a great preairport breakfast. I had the omelette "the special" and my husband had machada. Both were outstanding. We also both had iced café olla and holy cow/ that was amazing. My only recommendation is sharing because portions are huge.

Veggie burrito is gargantuan -- big enough to satiate the largest of appetites. But it isn't that great. Decent but needs tons of pico and more cilantro. Something about the texture was just mushy and the flavors just all kinda fused together without anything fresh and bright to bring that sunny California-Mexican flavor you get from the best taco trucks here.

The restaurant is in a hip part of the city. Upon Entering the restaurant, you’re quickly greeted and seated. Our host was prompt and responsive to get us the menu, water, as well as ask for any drinks. The menu is varied with lots of food options. Interestingly, the breakfast menu, is Latin inspired which is amazing! After placing the order, the food arrived shortly and was hot, fresh, and delicious. Our host was always responsive to any requests and offered to get us various sauces. My only drawback is the food doesn’t seem to have vegan options. I would highly recommend this place and come here again.

This was our second visit to Cafe con Leche. It's always been a great experience. We sat outdoors. Since their tent has sides, it can be loud. Of course, that's fine unless you don't like noisy restaurants. Their food is amazingly consistent. Cafe Americano: oh my - the size of the cup is enormous. It was also very good. Chilaquiles Verdes: Two of us ordered Chilaquiles - this was also an enormous meal. Delicious, slightly spicy, the salsa verde was amazing. But it was so large, I barely finished half the meal. The rest will be breakfast tomorrow . Vegetable Sandwich: big and fantastic. I'm not a vegetarian, but my mother is. She also doesn't eat a lot at one sitting. We took one half of her meal home. Ropa Viella: this was the only meal finished at our table. I didn't get to taste it but the review was as good as anything else above. I can't end this without mentioning the service. Everyone we encountered was super nice and very accommodating. It was a pleasure to eat here.
