Riverwoods Homestay Review We booked a pet friendly family cottage for 2 nights at Riverwoods, a close friend had recommended us this Homestay & we were quite impressed. We were on a roadtrip from Bangalore to Goa and this was a perfect getaway for us. Location : our drive to the location was quite interesting, driving through the curvy roads, overlooking the coffee & pepper plantations and not to forget the misty mountains in the backdrop. I must say , The homestay is peacefully located and the Badra river flowing in close proximity is quite a highlight. Service : since the time of booking to our checkin, the services were prompt & well communicated. We were at complete ease. The room was neat & the local food was quite flavourful. Activities: In the morning , We had a quite picnic alongside the banks of River Badra. It was truly captivating. Later that evening we hopped on an open jeep for a plantation tour in the estate. It was a new experience. In the night , We also enjoyed our time by the warm bonfire. Special Thanks to Arun , he was polite & helpful. Our overall experience at this property was wonderful. Thank you for hosting us .

We had such a lovely serene trip over the last weekend and it was just amazing. The rooms were very simple and clean and that just added to the charm. The furniture throughout the homestay had this retro vintage vibe. The food was great, very home-cooked and balanced! They were so accommodating to our tastes that we couldn't not enjoy it. A major plus point of our stay was the manager Arun, he was such a nice and helpful addition to our trip. He took brilliant care of us till the moment we left. From managing the meal timings, setting up the campfire, to even indulging our interest in fishing😂. Would definitely reccomend spending some downtime here. Its the perfect escape.

We live in Delhi and we're in Bangalore in the month of August for some work. One random Fb reel became the triiger point for us to extend our stay and visit nearby Chakmaglur. We actually had no idea what we were heading for.....and boy!! We're we pleasantly surprised!! The roadway from Bangalore to Riverwoods, the resort, food, hospitality, everything became a high point of our vacation. August may not be the best time to visit this part of the world, so it was pretty desolate, with many local residents often wondering what two Dilliwala were upto. We were the only guests at Riverwoods, yet there was no compromise on the number of dishes they would make for us....till we actually told them that we couldn't possibly eat so much😅 Rooms are clean, and surprisingly no mosquitoes inside, while they were everywhere outside. We had an amazing time at Riverwoods visiting various temples, jungles, tea & coffee plantations. Riverwoods helped us plan our various destinations. My suggestion would be, if they could keep lunch optional.Visitors would rather like to spend the entire day outside and return before it gets dark rather than having lunch at the resort, which ate away our precious day time. Otherwise a neat clean traditional house with excellent food, veg and non veg both.

It was a wonderful experience with excellent homely food. The service staffs were very supportive & caring. Enjoyed the camp fire & outdoor games. The Jeep ride through the coffee estate was a memorable one. The riverside bird watching was interesting. The nearby sight seeing guidelines provided by the Manager Arun was very handy.

Had a very pleasant stay in this amazing home stay. They have a very good collection of vintage items. The staff was so polite and helpful. There were very small issues, which the staff (Arun) helped us out with. It's away from the traffic or any such disturbance. They have quite a few collections of books.

Cozy place to stay, polite staff and great food! We had our 2 yo kid with us, but all of our requests regarding her food and timings were accommodated. If you are looking to have a bonfire, jungle safari, bird watching then avoid visiting in the rainy season. Otherwise its a great place for a staycation.

The photos do no justice to the property and its surroundings! This place was truly a treasure amongst nature… from the warmth and courteousness of the staff members, especially Arun, to the excellent variety of food, bonfire in the night, everything was just perfect! The property is huge, extremely picturesque with each corner beautifully designed, just like out of a fairy tale ! The location is slightly inside, so if you’re looking to stay close to city centre, this isn’t for you; but if you want a weekend away from the hustle, amongst nature, this is your place! Thanks for helping us have such a memorable stay :)

We stayed at this homestay from the week starting 26th Dec for 3 nights. We booked a room in the home stay bungalow. It was our first time experience in a homestay. It sure was worth every penny. Decided to book here based on the recommendation of a friend who had stayed here earlier and had spoken of it highly. True to that our stay turned out to be a memorable one. The ambience in the resort , the old rustic style bungalow far away from the crowds nestled in the lap of nature was truly relaxing. Over & above the hospitality extended by the Manager Arun was great - from showing us around the resort to guiding us on the site seeing & activities everything was spot on. The food cooked and served by Chef Nithya was very good and tasty- lip smacking. The ambience with the excellent hospitality extended by Arun , Nitya and team was great and made for one relaxing and memorable holiday. A few little things that the management could look into is like providing netting to the windows and ventilators so that there could be better ventilation while curtailing musquito entry into the room. The approach road to the resort - from gate to the bungalow if it can be levelled it would make the ride easier. Another thing to be considered is some form of basic accommodation to be provided for drivers accompanying guests - as there are no suitable accommodation available in the vicinity of the resort. Over all a wonderful experience and would definetly recommend this resort.
