👍 We are glad we chose to go back to El Saltillo Mexican restaurant. We were tired of the same flavors everywhere we went. It’s surprising flavorful , I had shrimp Berrito my husband had chili relleno and D plate. The wait staff is friendly and the dining room is clean. Thank you El Saltillo till next... A must go Mexican restaurant! The service was good, the food was fantastic, what more can you need? The portions were HUGE! You will definitely be needing a to-go box. There is also a military discount (10%) which is great that they support the troops. We got the California burrito and the combo meal. Each one was super flavorful and delicious. They do offer free salsa and chips which is great! Overall, a must go for Mexican food in gulfport!

Service was fast and friendly, no complaints. Katherine L. took good care of us. Food came out fast. Salsa was on the salty side. The grilled skirt steak was perfectly cooked, very tasty. But the chimichanga was more like a burrito, soft and not crunchy. Beans and rice were lukewarm. The worst item on both our dishes was the "guacamole". Nasty green puree, slimy and nasty tasting. I've never gotten "guacamole" like this in any other Mexican restaurant. It's going to keep us from returning. See pic.

House Special (steak, peppers, tomatoes, & onions served w a side of beans, rice, and tortillas) is my go-to. The steak is always perfectly seasoned and tender. No gristle or fat. I really l8ke their soft corn tortillas. I know that they aren't homemade, but they are very good. Churros are good, too. Just make sure to ask for the chocolate sauce. They sometimes forget it. The chips aren't consistently good. Quite often over cooked. The salsa served with them is delicious. I usually end up drenching my entire meal with it. Can't really say for the rest of the menu.

I have been a regular at this Mexican gem, and every visit has been a delightful surprise! The versatility of the menu ensures that every experience is a unique culinary adventure. From tacos bursting with flavor to enchiladas oozing with cheesy goodness, there's always something new to savor. What sets this place apart, though, is the warm and inviting atmosphere. The moment you step in, you're greeted by a comforting ambiance that makes you feel right at home. The décor and lighting create an intimate setting that's perfect for any occasion, whether it's a casual lunch or a special celebration. The staff are exceptional - friendly, attentive, and always ready with great recommendations. They truly add to the overall experience, making each visit memorable. If you're a fan of Mexican cuisine and love trying new dishes, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. It's become my go-to spot for amazing food and cozy vibes. Don't miss out on this culinary gem!

I saw a rat run across the dining room a year ago and everyone was screaming. It was funny. I never went again until’ today and found a piece of knife sharpener in my food. An inch long… piece of metal. I warned my father that we should not go to El Ratillo again, but here we are. On the other side, the food is ok 👀

Very nice restaurant. Clean and nicely decorated. This is my 3th time visiting and I have nothing negative to say. I never really cared for Mexican food, but since I came here the first time I fell in love with the food they serve. The Margaritas are really good too. I had the Cascadia Texana.

Always enjoy eating here. I think we're regulars at this place. Food is always fresh, good and quick. The margaritas are delicious as well. Never any complaints about this restaurant.

In my opinion, best Mexican food on the coast. Excellent service, literally never a bad day of service. Food is fantastic. Prices are awesome. Drinks are great. Just go there.

They got my wife’s order completely wrong and brought her someone else meal… for the 3 time in last year… the waiter spoke poor English and knew he had given us the wrong plate when I approached him but was not going to correct his mistake… the food was tasty and fresh but poor service

This is a weekly lunch meeting place. Shay is a fabulous server. She remembers my lunch & is always spot on. The food is always good. We typically get the same most of the time but have tried various over time. Chicken quesadilla with cheese & veggies very good as is the fajitas platter.

Great food! Great prices! They were obviously short staffed and it was a very busy Friday night, but the staff did a great job of serving us in a timely manner.

My families favorite place to eat! Quick and perfect everytime! Even to-go orders can be out the door from the time of ordering in about 10 to 15 minutes. Thanks for the amazing service!

Came in on monday and there were 4 tables seated in the main dining area and 2 near the bar. We came in and got our chips and salsa, then 12 minutes went by and I had to get up to let someone know we had not been served yet. Another almost 5 and we finally were seen. Not my normal experience here so I will try again another day but it's just so strange because everyone who had been seated already had service back and forth many times and we just sat there and watched.

I absolutely love this place. My go to for authentic Mexican food. I place orders for pick up mostly and they ALWAYS get it right. El Saltillo never disappoints.

We frequently visit the El Saltillo on Cedar Lake rd and have always enjoyed it. So we decided to try the El Saltillo on hwy 49. While this one isn't terrible, it is just mediocre at best. It was crowded and overly loud. The service wasn't bad, just a little slow. It seems odd that some tables have salt and pepper on them but many don't. I think from now on we will stick to the Cedar Lake location.

I was actually quite disappointed with my food last week. I usually ALWAYS have nothing but good things to say... But I ordered a medium rare Carne asada & was both surprised and dismayed at what was served. We had brought another couple with us, I brag about this restaurant so much... I was almost embarrassed. The atmosphere was still great, and the waitress was intelligent and very kind. I'm even going to give this place another shot before I throw in the proverbial towel.

Great food, the service from Jasmine was absolutely great and the prices are excellent. We ordered off the lunch menu and still took food home!!

First time here. Had hopes for this place. It had good reviews. Menu looked amazing. Definitely not authentic Mexican food tho. We ordered carna asada tacos, enchiladas Ranchero with cheese and onion, and margaritas. Everything looked good when it was brought but that changed once we tried the food. The cheese was velveta and horrible. The margaritas were good. The tacos kinda bland. The staff was friendly but not really helpful when you had questions on the menu. They did comp the meal that was unedible. Its a shame... Won't be back. Too pricy for the quality.

Loved it. Better than Aztecas. Great service with lovely, kind staff. The live music was extremely pleasant, not too loud and added beautifully to the atmosphere. The margaritas are delicious and so are the smoothies! The food was excellent and so affordable. I wish we would have tried this place 3 years ago when we first moved here so we could've enjoyed it more!

Sometimes the food is good sometimes not. Last night was not. Ordered Nachos Carbon and an enchilada, we got what looked like a thrown together half order instead of the full order and the food was cold.

Said wait to be seated but after about 15 minutes had to walk to the back to find someone that worked there. It wasn't even busy. South 49 and cedar lake are much better overall

Sat at the bar for 20 minutes before somebody asked what I wanted to drink. We ordered and washed another 15 minutes and left. We were never served any drinks or food. Not sure if they're understaffed or the current manager just sucks. Other locations have been good, but this one is garbage..

Very busy on my visit. Server wasn't attentive, and forgot some of our food, which was brought to us cold. Seasoning on food is light, but prices are reasonable.

My wife and I sat down, ordered some Margaritas and 5 minutes later our food was on the table. Awesome service and great food. I would recommend this place to anyone who is traveling through Gulfport. WOW. 😁
