Staff is very knowledgeable about the how the locks and canal system worked. Lots of historical information about this canal and how it was connected to the canals in Pennsylvania.

Quiet and charming. Staff genuinely cares and will take time to educate you on the history of the canal with demonstrations. I'd highly recommend coming for a tour if you care about Maryland history, but keep in mind the tour may take at least 30-40min. Theres also a small manicured field in the front and full access of the canal in the back with a few tables and a bench surrounded by flowers. Just make sure to take the bridge to the left if you want to cross the canal. It's less shaky.

This is a hidden, historical gem. The lock house has been fully restored, and the additional on-site historical structures interpret this slice of local history with excellence!

I recently did an engagement photo shoot here. I like this particular area because usually everyone flocks to the Havre de Grace Lighthouse. The Lockhouse is a welcomed change up for scenic photos in Havre de Grace. I'll post more photos soon.

What a great little hidden gem. I honestly had never heard of this old canal. We just stumbled upon the lockhouse museum while exploring on our bicycles. So glad we did!

Great little museum! We've been several times, sometimes when they are holding events and it's always really nice. The people who work there are all very friendly and helpful.

What a wonderful, free museum right here in Havre de Grace. Joe was training a new museum attendant and together they gave a wonderful tour through the museum and introduced us to the lockes system in Susquehanna river. Unexpected and wonderful...they are a credit to Harford County government done right!

I was not in the museum. I was outside at the Arts & Wine Jazz Festival. It was very nice. The entertainment, arts, wine & food was fantastic. Not to mention the weather was beautiful.

This afternoon there were several people enjoying this area. Some were fishing, some taking photos, some just sitting in their cars enjoying the view and cool breeze. We were all asked to leave because a tourist bus was coming in. There's plenty of room to park a bus there even with other cars in the lot. I thought this was a public space.

Peace & Blessings! F1RST and foremost, about 85% of folks in attendance were wearing mask 😷 which was a good thing! The ( museum ) was very nice and educational. However, it was a WINE AND JAZZ FESTIVAL that was taking place. My 5☆ rating goes as follows: good weather, good clean environment, good food, good wine, good music, good deals, and good folks...NO ISSUE, CONCERNS, NOR PROBLEMS!❤️🎭🙏🏾
