The owner tried to walk into our room in the middle of the night. He punched in the code and tried to open the door. The only thing that stopped him was the security latch inside. He said it was because he didn't see us all day. I don't think it should matter if he did or not. We paid for the night. He should not be entering at any time. Do not stay here! It was loud. Walls are very thin.

Was not impressed with the house keeping, used this place before and was treated well, but was not impressed this time. common area kitchen was for guest use or was to be, employee had food in refrigerator age of food unknown and the refrigerator was dirty, I had to sweep the floors in the room and bathroom because of dirty floors, floors needed cleaning/mopping, had to wear shoes inside, which is a go no. And I would get up in the middle of the night because the kitchen lights were turned on and the back door leading to the kitchen was wide open, employee would go in and cook leaving the door open when he would leave the cottage, that's not good customer service, my family and I did not appreciate this treatment. A whole star, NO! half a star for customer service and safety is being generous.

Who complains about frogs!? Frogs are cute, but not cockroaches. The room was full of cockroaches, even in a sink I saw long black whiskers. Bed linen and mattresses were old and grey. Floor dirty. Microwave, fridge and w&d - rusty. Walls - thin. And Alan wasn't helpful, he was unfriendly, distant, cold and overall inconsiderate. Aside from these, everything else was ok 😐🥴

A stone's throw from a little quiet beach. Quiet, has AC if you need it. Cool nights with lots of frogs singing. Birds singing all day. Feels remote but close to things. Rent a car. I recommend this place.

This place is great. Its very chill, low key digs right near the beach. Awesome location for all the best beaches in hilo. Don't expect alot though. There is no front desk or office area really, just a cool old manager man wandering around that you gotta catch if you need anything. They place is just basic every thing. Basic bed, basic coffee maker, shower, TV etc. They do have a lil community kitchen which is nice, clean. Again very basic. The garden area was cool, there was fruiting citrus tree all over and a beautiful rock wall and flower area. For the price, I would definitely stay here again! If there was more amenities such as shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, or coffee and cream for the coffee maker I would give this place 5 stars, Also the website is a bit outdated.

Nice modern places, everything from one room with a shared kitchen to a whole house for pretty cheap. The rooms are clean and modern. There is breakfast. It's close to the beach with turtles and snorkeling. Easy check in and out. Manager Robert is super friendly and responds pretty fast online or by phone.

I am not sure how this got highly rated. I will start with the good stuff- The helper on the property was prompt to help and replied. Here is where it gets tricky - I saw a ton of roaches on the property and a lot more in the shared kitchen area. There was one in the fridge! Gross. The sheets and towels weren't clean and felt old. After complaining, the helper offered to give us another room that's "deep cleaned"; we were too tired so declined the offer. Overall very disappointed.

They were able to accommodate me last minute and this place was perfect. Clean, comfortable, beautiful grounds, and loved the beach access nearby. Self check in was convenient and the manager was responsive over phone. Would stay again.

My husband and I stayed here. Such a cute place! Very clean and comfortable, just a walk to the beach with little coves. It was perfect for a mini vacation. Well definitely be back!

Brian was very helpful when we spent 10 days at Aarons Cottage. The place is outdated needs some tender care. The refrigerator was rusted and the clothing dryer you needed a screw driver to operate and to open. There was no children pool, barbecue and parking was limited. But nevertheless the cottage was clean and a great place to just sleep.

The cottage was very cosy and beautiful. It was clean and had all the basic amenities. The location is great. It is within walking distance of the beaches. Close to Hilo and other attractions. The owner and the manager were very friendly. We will definitely come back.

The spot is clean, nice decor, gas stove and fridge, laundry is available. Its in an area that has a rai forest vibe but is actually part of town, and is about 3 minutes walking from the beach. Personally really liked it.

It's beautiful, clean and so very quiet to get the rest I needed. The grounds are impeccably groomed. Aaron and his manager jomo we're very kind and professional. Definitely the place to stay. The prices are fantastic 👍 Karen Dzieweczynski

Great location and property. Staff was friendly, easy to check in and out and rooms were clean and comfortable. A good choice for a stay in hilo.

1 minute walk to the beach, attentive and helpful owner. Would definitely stay here again.

This place was amazing. Nice clean well kept rooms. Air conditioner worked perfect for those hot Hilo nights. Two minute walk from an amazing beach super awesome snorkeling there. Would definitely recommend to anybody
