One of the best fish and chips that I have had! Everything I had was delicious and fresh! The staff were very helpful and friendly! If you like fish and chips I definitely recommend to try out the stunned mullet 😋

I grew up in Adelaide but have been living abroad for nearly a decade and this is my first trip home since 2016. When I lived here, I used to frequent Fish Out of Water. Their (already steep) prices have climbed so much that I searched for cheaper alternatives. The Stunned Mullet seemed the best option. I was not disappointed. This is the best fish and chips I’ve had in ages—and that includes from highly rated comparable businesses in Manhattan. The fish was lightly battered deliciousness. The chips were hand cut and lightly seasoned with plain salt and malt vinegar. (When I requested “plain salt and vinegar,” the proprietor asked whether I wanted white or malt vinegar.) Perfect portion size for one. Non-greasy. Fresh ingredients. Reasonable pricing (about $17 for King George Whiting a chips). What more could you ask for? Also, it’s good to see a successful family-run business. The customer service was excellent. If I lived in Adelaide, I’d be a regular. Definitely hope to visit again before I return to the States. Highly recommend.

Had my weekend fish and chip fix today.As always the fish was ultra fresh and my "yellow" chips were spot on with the extra chicken salt.It was also good to find out they make their own tartare sauce.Keep up the good work and keep winning the best fish and chips in Adelaide.

Ordered flatheads battered and crumbed - these were very nice, crispy yet juicy. Crumbed prawns, calamari rings and scallops were equally tasty. Chips were disappointing though - not crispy, were soft and a bright yellow. Helped a little with the gravy but they may need to change their chip supplier or the way they fry their chips. Also had to ask for cutlery…

The food and service certainly did not disappoint! The lady who served us recommended 2 fishes to try and we loved it! The best fish and chips in Adelaide definitely. Love the homely vibes!

One of the best fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time. We had Grenadier Fish, prawns, calamari, chips and sauces. All was excellent, so good to see a place that cares about their food. Thanks heaps. So full now lol

Dino and the Stunned Mullet deliver a great fish and chips experience! We tried the fish, chips, calamari and potato fritters. Everything was excellent! Look forward to visiting again.

Had lemon pepper calamari, whiting and chips. The calamari and whiting were very fresh. Batter was nice but everything was dripping in oil so much that the red colouring on the packaging was coming off onto everything. Chips were average and not many. Most fish shops give too many this one gave too little I would like to try the squid and fish again given how fresh it was and maybe when it's less busy.

Easily the best Fish n Chips, lemon & pepper Calamari and salad I’ve ever had (and gluten free too)! The staff were kind and helpful, the locally caught fish was grilled with herbs to perfection, and great serving size. I wish I was a local to go back frequently.

Those who say sotos is the best have absolutely no idea. This place is the best, their chicken salt is out of this world, is chicken-y/zesty! Absolutely delicious. Also service is always pleasant!

Once thought highly of the place but staff changes and unorganised beyond belief these days. Sitting waiting for food that has been prepared but not announced for twenty minutes. Some venues rest on their past glory laurels .. I will steer clear if it's busy in the future.

Wanted to like this and drove extra distance to give it a try on our holiday Paid high end prices ($50 for 2) but the delivery was disappointing. Grilled fish was left sitting before the rest of the order was processed and was cold on eating. Food was unsalted after requesting salted and there were no lemon wedges. It’s an easy fix just, think if you’re going to be pricey then you need to deliver a high quality product.
