We had a lovely mid-week dinner for so many reasons! Firstly, a cool and unique venue with amazing curiosities that keep your eyes darting around and admiring the period interior and intricate tiling. Secondly, the food is just great - a lovely and varied menu with something for everyone. Thirdly, friendly and attentive service made our night hassle free and enjoyable. Perfect!

We went here for our anniversary and the reputation lived up to the hype. We opted for the chef 5 dinner mystery option and each meal was better than the previous. Amazing food, fine dining and a luxurious ambiance makes this a great place for a more important milestone or just a fine night out. Highly recommended !😁

Beautiful venue! My party had the chefs tasting menu, and the staff were able to work around all dietary requirements. No one felt like they were missing out at any point. The food was delicious with flavours you'd never think to pair, like date compote with roasted/grilled fennel! It was simple, yet exquisite. Huge shout out to our waiter, Dan, who went above and beyond to make our night enjoyable, and was happy to have a laugh and a chat with us. He knew the menu, he knew what drinks would go well with our preferences, and was always there when we had a question or needed something. 10/10, I can't wait to go back.

A Memorable Culinary Experience at Apoteca! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Apoteca, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the exquisite decor and carefully arranged entryway, setting the tone for what would be an unforgettable evening. We were lucky enough to have a table for two in the enchanting wine cellar, which added an extra touch of sophistication to the evening. Opting for the Chef's selection with matching wines, we were guided through this culinary journey by our exceptional waiter, Michael. His knowledge and enthusiasm in explaining the perfect pairing of dishes with wines made the entire dining experience enjoyable and enlightening. The food itself was beyond exceptional, and it was evident that the ingredients were sourced fresh from the local Adelaide area. Each dish was a celebration of flavors, beautifully presented and leaving us with a lasting impression of the chef's culinary mastery. It's no surprise that Apoteca has won numerous awards, as every aspect of the dining experience was top-notch. Michael's exceptional service, the delectable food, and the remarkable ambiance truly made this a must-visit place in Adelaide. Thank you, Apoteca, for providing us with a great night and a culinary journey that we will cherish forever. We both can't wait to return for another delightful experience!

We were at the restaurant for my husband's birthday on a school night. It wasn't our first time here and we thoroughly enjoyed everything like last time. We love how extensive the wine list is. We couldn't fault the food and the service. We will be back again for sure.

Nice place great decor love the exposed brick and natural floor boards. Small à la carte menu and small selection of beers. The food was good and steak was cooked slightly under what was requested. The staff were great very friendly and helpful with great service provided by all staff members who we interacted with. All in all a pleasant experience.

We visited Apoteca tonight and had the 4 course Chef’s Prescription menu: we started with a roll with olive oil and dukkah, alongside a pumpkin dish with pickled savoy and whipped feta; second course was kingfish ceviche, third was lamb loin, and to finish we had the grass fed scotch with a side of roast potatoes. The restaurant itself is beautiful, making for some gorgeous photos and the staff were attentive. The dukkah was one of the best I have ever tasted, and as someone who doesn’t like pumpkin, I really enjoyed the dish, much to my surprise. The pickled savoy and feta balanced the sweetness of the pumpkin out beautifully. I was excited when the second course came; I love seafood but was quite underwhelmed by the dish. The kingfish itself was nice but the other stronger flavours overpowered it. We were disappointed with the lamb loin course; although it was decently cooked, it lacked flavour; a pinch of salt would have gone a long way. The fennel didn’t add much to the dish and the radiccio did nothing except bring a splash of colour to the plate. The fourth course, the grass fed scotch had a beautiful cafe de Paris on top of it- I am already looking up recipes to attempt to recreate it! The beef itself was cooked just right but again lacked some flavour without the care de Paris. The side of roast potatoes were delicious however; perfectly crispy and garlicky. The non-alcoholic peach spritz was very over-priced at $12 for a small glass. Overall, I had mixed feelings; I very much enjoyed the first and last courses but the middle two were rather forgettable. While I wouldn’t mind coming back and try some dishes on the a la carte menu, I wouldn’t have the chef’s prescription menu again.

Came here and the upstairs area was empty, we were taken downstairs where it is underground. The theme of the menu seems to be like that of a pharmacy. Food is decent but it didn’t blow my mind. Drinks were varied with a lot of options. No beer on tap also. Service was very good but it wasn’t that busy so the atmosphere was a bit down. Potatoes were good.

We had the $75pp chefs set menu for 6 on a Saturday night. Downstairs in the cellar was a pretty cool vibe and service was acceptable. The cheaper more entree type meals were great but the mains, pork and steak were very average. The pork almost inedible with the amount of fat and steak was chewy. Probably better suited for couples.

Dined at Apoteca with a few friends and had the best experience. Food was absolutely delicious and surpassed my expectations. We ordered a few dishes from each group selection on the menu and shared. Especially loved the baby carrots, mandarin, cardamom and bay dressing as well as the heirloom beets. We followed this with rosemary, garlic potatoes and honey parsnips which were also very delicious. The scotch fillet was mouth-watering, as was the lamb. Dessert was the mille-feuille, custard, strawberries and pistachio – you will be amazed!! Oh, and don’t forget the cheese platter!!! Wine list was extensive so you'll be spoilt for choice. To top off the exceptional food, the service was great and the staff were extremely polite and friendly. I loved the surroundings and ambience (we had a table in the cellar) – truly unique. We will definitely return to experience this wonderful food again!!!! Thank you so much Apoteca.

The restaurant doesn’t look like much on the outside, but once inside, we were in awe. The atmosphere and decor were Intriguing. We did the 5 courses with wine pairing. The food was amazing. Couldn’t fault anything. The service was the best we have ever had. Our server Michael, really knew his stuff and was very informative and helpful. Definitely will be back soon.

Beautiful gem on Hindley Street with interior of old Pharmacy bottles and canisters, dark wood, very vintage alike.. Intimate and perfect place to have a glass of wine, catch up with friends from overseas (like me yesterday) and also dine in. We had only great quality rosé wine from Barossa valley, served in interesting canister. Charming place on filthy street 🤣, as my German friend said. Sorry Hindley Street, it's not all that bad 😁 There are other charming places like bookshop, Japanese dessert place etc Next time will have food discovery..

We had the Chef's Selection of 4 & Wine Match last Friday night. The restaurant had a really good vibe. The wine was excellent, but the food was a bit hit and miss. The first dish was amazing (vegetarian beets with feta). The second dish (tuna) was overpowered by ginger and my wife couldn't eat it. The third dish (lamb) was extremely fatty, and disappointing to eat. The fourth dish (steak) wasn't a stand-out either. Overall, was a bit disappointing.

We had the 4 course to share chef selection menu on a Saturday at 6 pm prior to attending a show, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service, highly recommended. As we're paying, we were told they did not have change.. on a busy Saturday night, which was a bit odd to us, however we had the exact amount to make it a tips so that was fine, hence the four stars, instead of five!

I had always walked past and always wondered what they had to offer. After checking out the website I knew I had to make a booking. Small intimate area with only 5 tables but enough space for a private dinner. We chose the 5 course chef selection with paired wines. What a wonderful experience! Food was incredible and wines were amazing. Service was impeccable I didn't have to lift a finger. The cabbage starter was my favourite followed by the steak. We will definitely be back!!

Great food, service and atmosphere at this little gem in Adelaide. We were visiting from Sydney for the festival season and wanted a quiet and delicious meal. We found the place at Apoteca. Would come back for sure

Worst food.! Went to celebrate our son’s 18th. Spent over $350 for a 4 course meal as alacarte was cancelled at the last minute. Not one course was enjoyable. All their ratings were probably rigged or people want to be nice due to lovely staff. The only good was pleasant staff, unfortunately we can’t eat staff and rate them. Will never recommend this place. See the photo attached and decide if it’s worth it! I don’t have the shrivelled frozen peas course as I was fuming!

Excellent experience and they accommodated for gluten free and seafood free diets. Suggest the Chef’s Preference 4 Course for the best value for money if there’s two of you dining! So much food for $65 PP we didn’t even have room for desert. Great service and cool atmosphere in the basement.

Came here on a short visit to Adelaide during the winter. Intimate setting decorated to look like an apothecary. Personalized service right from the start. We had the 6 course menu with wine pairing.. very generous portions on offer and they also catered for my partners pescatarian diet. The food was absolutely delicious and the total experience well worth it. We recommend this place 100 percent.

Absolutely brilliant experience. Food was 1st class, our waiter was absolutely brilliant ; very knowledgeable, beautiful person and funny. I've never experienced anything like this before and would highly reccomend the experience. Thankyou for a great night.6 stars!⭐

+ Great atmosphere, setting and decorations. Most food tasted awesome. - Empty plates were on the table too long, we were constantly having empty glasses and meat was overcooked. We noticed staff preparing for the next day, while we, for example, wanted to order drinks. This changed as soon as the manager came on the floor.

Beautiful place. Building appears to be an old pharmacy and is decorated as such. Huge selection of drinks and great food. Must visit

Simply outstanding. One of Adelaide’s best dining experiences. We had a private Beefsteak & Burgundy Club dinner for 30 people in the Cellar Restraunt, and the entire event was flawless. The service, the food, the atmosphere; all impeccable. Classic Bruschetta and Arancini to start, then King Fish Ceviche, followed by 30 perfectly cooked Scotch Fillets (served on HOT plates too!) and a delightful Chocolate Marquise to finish.
