My partner and I were celebrating out anniversary today. We are strongly disappointed with this restaurant. Firstly, we booked a table but they cannot find our booking. We showed him the booking email, but they still asked us to wait for a table because they had fully booked at the moment. Secondly, the foods were very average and it doesn’t deserve this price. The steak is very dry and tasteless, the duck breast just like I was having some lean meat. Thirdly, we were going to go to checkout and pay the bill. We were already waiting for the manager to check us out and he suddenly let the white couple to pay first when they were lining up behind us. I totally think this is racist. First don't let us have a table when we booked. And then try to ignore us, let the other pay their bill first when we were first in the line. Totally unacceptable customer services.

Great restaurant at windy point. Restaurant is a little pricey (around $125 per person) bookings essential too. The view is a 10/10 and the food is around a 7.5/10, service is quite good too. If you time it right (pick a course starting around 6:30pm) and by the time you end your dinner you can wander out (in summer time) and watch the sunset at windy point lookout too.

My initial attempt to leave a restaurant a one-star review - never done that before. First off, they didn't provide a contact number when I booked, only email, which was a real hassle. 1. During the booking, we made it clear that we'd be bringing our own wine for a special occasion. The restaurant agreed to a $30 fee for opening the bottle, which seemed fair. However, when we asked if we could snap a quick pic of the wine opening process (just the hand and the wine, no faces), they initially agreed, but later, without making a fuss, took our bottle to a corner to open it. When I asked again about taking a photo, the guy opening the wine had a really bad attitude and kept grumbling under his breath. By this point, my experience was already soured. 2. We had our 7-year-old with us, and when we booked online, we couldn't choose between the regular and children's menus. We were stuck with the $125 per person adult set menu. 3. This was my third time at this restaurant; I visited in 2016 and 2021, but this time was beyond disappointing. The service hit a new low, and the food was downright terrible. I'm not a picky eater, but this time it was a struggle to even swallow. Both my 7-year-old and my partner couldn't eat, and at one point, I felt like I was going to dry heave. Imagine frying a fatty piece of meat until it's halfway cooked and then drowning it in honey. Many dishes were just nauseating. I'm embarrassed about the $125 per person charge. 4. On my previous visits, I would have tipped $50 because the staff was genuinely friendly and made the dining experience enjoyable. But this time, during checkout, the guy who opened our wine rushed over and insisted we tip using the swipe machine. This made me so uncomfortable, and I don't want to deal with his bad attitude and complaints anymore. So, this is the last time I'll be a patron, and I tipped $50 as a final regrettable decision. The restaurant seems to rely on its unique view and has lost its touch with food quality. I'm a generous diner, but I have taste and sense. I won't be coming back.

Such a beautiful place for a degustation dinner. The views are to die for. The meal was splendiferous, and the staff were gorgeously friendly

My husband and I had the most wonderful evening at Windy Point Restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Needless to say, the view was stunning. The service was superb. We appreciated the simple but atheistic table decoration with a small, real pumpkin. It enhanced the winter vibes. From entrees to desert, the food was incredible. They were *chef kiss* when having them with the paired wine. We absolutely loved the winter menu and look forward to trying a different menu for our next visit in the future.

amazing beyond the call of duty service by all staff. Very professional and customised, it really made us felt special. The view is unbelievable. Just about not a bad seat in the house. There is no other restaurant in Adelaide with such a stunning view. Very romantic indeed.

Lovely atmosphere and great service. Food was good but not great. Dessert was below average. Expensive night out.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. Every dish we ordered was expertly prepared and bursting with flavour. The presentation was beautiful and the portion sizes were just right. Overall, I highly recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch and I can't wait to return.

Everything was excellent the view, the food , the service. The 'happy anniversary' written in chocolate on the dessert was a very nice touch. The only issue we had was that there was a pervasive mouldy smell emanating from the carpets and it was affecting the ambience, detracting from the food quality and distracting us from what was otherwise an almost perfect experience. I would of rated 5 stars overall and for food and atmosphere if it was not for this. P.s The pricing is very reasonable.

Had the pleasure of Dining at Windy Point Restaurant this evening with some very important clients. This is a very impressive restaurant with absolutely impeccable service from all staff encountered. We dined from the degustation menu which was totally sublime. Windy Point is well worth of the 5 stars awarded.

Absolutely loved it. Went for our anniversary dinner.. Unfortunately we couldn't get a table on lower balcony. But still the views were spectacular.. They had a custom 6 course vegetarian menu as well. That was above and beyond what I expected. Really enjoyed it. Highly recommended

Nice atmosphere, good service but one of the staff members made a mistake and our food got delayed.

Good views, nice atmosphere. However food was so mediocre that I felt like I could cook up better food at home in my own kitchen. For example, all the Meat dishes were overcooked and very dry.

Pretty shocking service. The oysters were stale and beef was dry. When I mentioned it when they asked if everything was good, they said they’ll conduct an ‘investigation’. Of course they concluded everything was great. I thought I was the customer and if my two other guests also thought the oysters were a bit stale, then you can take your investigation and stick it

My wife & I had the pleasure of dining here, it was one of the best culinary experiences We've had in a long time. Overpriced, rude staff greeting, rude waitress. I told the waitress i've been here before and I knew what to order. Instead she says, hang on a minute, you're suppose to take your time, and I need to serve this other table first. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, I get better service at a pizza joint. The new potatoes side dish that comes with the beef was dry, and the beef was medium when I ordered extra rare. Then they even dared to ask for a tip. You should be grateful I don't ask for a refund

A classy fine dining spot perfect for late night entertainment, where the value is earned with the experience that is attached to the price tag. We had a 7 course - unique plates with stunning design and a story behind each one. Went on a good night as the skyline was second to the background chatter and warming laughter which filled the place. Expect to stay late and have more than a few drinks, as you won’t want to leave.

Food presentation is good. Quite expensive for the taste. Downside, slow service: it took a while to serve the next dish + the next.

Went there last week with my partner. The foods are nice, especially the kingfish in cone and the desserts. The cocktail is really nice. The views of the place are nice. Recommend to go there. Don’t forget to ask for the seats near the windows for better views.

A nice dinner with a view kind of venue. It's a lovely place to have a cute dining experience. Thought the food was nice.

Food was way better than experience a year ago which was almost comically bad. Views are amazing, food was well presented and mostly delicious but the slow and average service let it down. Speeding up the service would make this place ideal! I’d be reluctant to return give the length of time we spent here but if that doesn’t bother people then it’s a lovely meal with wonderful views.

This restaurant provides a magnificent view of the Adelaide. We ordered the 5 course set menue with paired drinks. The food was cooked to perfection and the coonawarra lamb shoulder was the best main I've had so far. I loved the little surprise on my dessert mentioning 'happy birthday'. Friendly staff. Sophisticated set up.

We returned here after 10 years and I have to say the wonderful service, view and atmosphere hasn't change but sadly neither has the food. The food isn't bad but we were a tad bit disappointed that the menu felt so surprising similar to what it was 10 years ago. It doesn't seem to have evolved much and it lacks the vibrancy and colour of other trendy fine dining restaurants in Adelaide. Saying that I would hight recommend the chicken. It was delicious.

We decided that we would love to revisit Windy Point restaurant. Phoned to book to be told there is only a set menu. That they are doing this because of Covid reasons!. How long are you planning on trying to use that excuse??. Once a wonderful place with excellent service and amazing chefs. Reduced to this pathetic place that does a set menu. That only opens a few nights a week and wants your credit card to book. You better lift your game if you want our business again. Look at all all the amazing places then look at yourself. ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC

We went here for my partner's birthday. We got the spring tasting menu with wine pairing. The food and wine were very good. The mains portion was larger than I expected for a tasting menu. Service was attentive. Where we were seated wasn't overly nice. The acoustics of the curved window funnelled voices of the more boisterous patrons. I'd recommend booking quite a ways in advance for better seating.

Dinner at @windypointrestaurant: haven't been back here in years! The food was good - nothing wrong with it, but I thought it could have been a bit better given the premium location. The service was top notch though, and the views were amazing! . Parmesan and cauliflower tart, with figs, jamon, grapes, and Persian fetta: really yummy dish! The tart filling was soft and creamy, but not overpowered by the parmesan. The fig and jamon on top made it quite good! . Ham hock and smoked chicken terrine, with pea aioli, burnt onion, dukkah, pomegranate syrup: good dish, but I felt the flavours are not very creative. The ham hock and the smoked chicken both tasted fairly similar. Not a bad dish by any means. . Moroccan carrot soup, smoked salmon with wasabi in an avocado cone, milk bun: the soup was interesting with a very mildly spicy flavour. The smoked salmon was delicious! The milk bun was a bit like a brioche. . 12 hour Coonawarra lamb shoulder, hummus, carrot relish, glaze: this was really delicious! The lamb was super tender, and it was so tasty 🤤🤤😍😍. . Braised chicken leg, celeriac, mushroom ragu, rocket hazelnut pesto: the chicken was excellently made. Good flavours and very tender. Not a super creative dish though 😅😅. . Western Australian barramundi, bisque cream, kohralbi remoulade: nice crispy skin barramundi, and it was very tender. Great dish! . Chocolate melange: a selection of desserts on a platter. I liked the creme brulee, but overall the other things were just too simple. . Cinnamon apples, molasses meringue, creme patissiere, ricotta, fig, honey ice cream, quince syrup: this was quite nice. I enjoy having apples in my dessert 😋. Much more creative than the other dessert option. The meringue was too sweet though 😅.

The venue has an outstanding view, you can relax and enjoy the company of friends and family well into the night without being rushed off. Sadly I find the food quite basic considering the interesting dishes now presented in Adelaide. The gnocchi especially was a very average throw together and our coffees’ were the worst we have had for a very long time. The service was attentive and timely.
