We were really disappointed. The traditional chips were yellow, tiny bits & pieces (not chip size). Our battered fish had dark crusty bits in the coating, not nice to taste. Sorry we couldn't tell the shop owner, but we had driven away to Reynella & parked on the way home to eat. We were told this shop had great fish n chips, but not today. AWFUL !!!

Can see this place really puts in the hard yards to bring the best quality. It doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you 😊

Fish was delicious. Wide variety of fresh salads to go with your fish and chips. The beetroot, carrot and apple salad was great. Personally, I like crispy chips and ours were a little soggy, otherwise, all good.

Had a piece of battered flake and a serve of sweet potato chips. Both were excellent, and the only issue is that I ordered too much! The bloke behind the counter is one of the friendliest guys you'll ever meet, and offered excellent customer service as well. The only complaint I would have is that there's not a lot of space to stand around and wait for your food without standing outside. That may or may not be a problem, based on the weather. Given the size shop they've got, they do an excellent job. I'll be going back there soon!

Probably like most people, I only ever make reviews if somewhere is exceptionally good, or exceptionally bad. This place is certainly the former, just so so good. I eat a fairly clean low-carb diet being a type 1 diabetic, and this place provides me with a huge range of healthy options I can conveniently get as takeaway... Rare these days. So many good salads, perfectly cooked fish every time, amazing stuff. Great crew too, always friendly, thanks all!

I am so fortunate to have FOOW as my local. Chris, Kate and the team are fantastic! Warm, professional and friendly customer service. The food is fresh and delicious. If you are looking for a fish shop with a diverse and creative menu, look no further. Thank you so much Chris and Kate!

I was shown the fish before I made my choice. I chose Snack size chips which is pretty large. Very friendly staff. 7 stars

Disappointed with the Fish n Chips I bought for the first time tonight. Chips were super greasy and the fish was very thin. The batter on the fish was ok. Possible cooking medium (oil) to low. Unfortunately, I have been spoilt for choice as my family owned and managed a Fish n Chip shop many moons back. Find it hard to find anything remotely as good as my father's Fish n Chips, sigh.... Customer service was good. Owner /manager certainly runs his business well. Just a shame about the Fish n Chips. 😔

The Portuguese Chicken Burger was spawned by the Great Gods into existence, a form so pure it could only belong to them and this fine establishment. The most delicious of halloumi, the most grilled of chicken, the freshest of all the salads. It is perfection in a warm bun. Fish Out of Water is the most primo of businesses to grace not only King William Road, but the entirety of the Earth. Dear reader, I implore you - nay, require you - to wait that extra time for the sweetest salvation that is 117 King William Road, Hyde Park.

In town for a week staying around the corner and wanted some seafood so heard so much good stuff about this place that I ordered take away dinner. Grilled South Australian Whiting with chips and salad. Fish was excellent, and the chips were perfect and not soggy at all. Big selection of salads on offer. Will go back again for sure. #LetsGuide #AdelaideFood #seafood #Adelaide

They have a huge gluten free menu, absolutely delicious, with a trendy atmosphere but with a huge classic/old school fish and chip shop vibe. Friendly staff who are on the ball. Kid friendly, plus a great playground nearby.

Firstly the great customer service made it the best reason to come back again. Secondly the food was very good, from the burger, the fish, the chips, potato cakes, Crab stick, crumbed sausage and so on. However personally the chips the last time was very salty compared to normal and even though you were voted number 1 I prefer chicken chef chips much more. Your Portuguese chicken burger is definately the best burger I have ate on the south side of Adelaide. Keep up the great work and I look forward to my next visit soon.

Consistently good fish and chips, with the bonus of an extensive gluten free menu. Last night’s butterfish was perfectly cooked as usual, great flavour, and the chips must surely be equal to the best in Adelaide.

Fish is great! I love that you do gluten free fish like other fish!! Crumbed, battered, anything. Chips as always are AMAZING!! Service excellent! Excellent work by 2 young ladies on the cash register. (From memory I think it was Bonnie and Grace?) Sat 18th November

Best fish and shop ever, always super fresh, amazing salads, orders always on time per advised wait. Only sticking point is your falafels are awful, please find a new supplier! I was very surprised given the quality of everything else you make is top notch!

Besides the best Burgers, chips & seafood in South Australia. This busy and innovative shop is Australian owned and operated and proudly supports the local community. Friendly and great service plus the food is always fresh & tasty and burger of the month is definitely worth a try.

Disappointing. The guys ordered fish and chips which was okay. But I ordered salt and pepper calamari which theoretically came with a garden salad. The garden salad had one piece of cucumber, nothing else. The salt and pepper calamari portion was not proportional to what I paid at all. I provided feedback - no compensation was provided. I will not be returning.

Part of the order was a piece of garfish. Very disappointed with the tiny size. Given the cost, 2 pieces should have been provided as is the norm with other fish and chip shops. Normally reasonable products and service from this business, however, disappointing this time. Thank you for the reply. I appreciate your assurance that you have resolved this matter.

SOOOO many GF options for those that needs them, neednt feel like a leper amongst your friends. And the GF options are great. Can get busy. Prices pretty normal. Some seating, and can be fun to just hang for a while and eat while fresh. Street parking can be a bit painful as per a lot of King William, but worth it. Some adventurous burger specials to try changing on a regular basis.

Wet and windy Saturday sat inside to massive serve of grilled Barra and a steak wrap for AJ. Magnifico. Welcoming staff and great chips.

This place is a well oiled machine!!! We ate in! The service was fast, and friendly and these guys were under the pump!!! It’s refreshing to go to a busy predominantly take away place, and see the staff all having fun when the pressure is on!! The salt and pepper squid and roast veg salad were delicious and we will be back for sure!!!

Best gluten free fish and chips I've ever had. Very clean inside, great staff, delicious food and it's well priced. Very accommodating with allergies.

Just had a most amazing steak sandwich here. I'm in Adelaide for two nights. I'll be back tomorrow for fish and chips. What a wonderful place 🙏

Interestingly you have to ask for cheese on your burger to then call it a cheeseburger. And the cheese is extra cost and it's not listed on the menu too. Vast range of food. Could be too many. Yellow chips caught my interest. Taste is okay, but could be better Forgot to put salt on or maybe they put too little.

Great service, however the food was awful and the cost was expensive. 10 salt and pepper calamari were tiny rings for $16… could have got better from a restaurant. Asked for chicken salt in chips- I think they dropped the salt on the overcooked chips. Fish in batter was Ok. Medium chips, 1 piece of fish and 10 pieces of salt and pepper calamari= $33

In the past I have found the food to be delicious and of a consistently high standard, however my order last night was most disappointing. The chips were soggy and the fish greasy. Unappetising to say the least. Unsure whether I will be a returning customer which is disappointing as I live locally.
