I traveled to Skamania Lodge for a conference, and was very pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and warmth from all the staff there. Whatever questions it issues I had, they were very receptive and helpful. Being in such an isolated location, you definitely have to rely more on the on-site amenities, so it was good to know that they were plentiful. Between the pool, (small) gym, hiking trails, golf and disc golf course, and other outdoor pursuits, there was lots to do, although the weather was very rainy all three days. The catered meals we had were pretty good, well above average for large group dining. The indoor and outdoor dining locations were quite scenic and comfortable. Rooms were spacious and had most of the basics. A nice touch was the availability of power outlets at the desk and beside each bed. The bed was comfortable, the sofa not so much. Perhaps the most annoying part was just the level of noise overnight from the central air and then the fans outside on the adjacent building. If I weren't such a heavy sleeper that might have been problematic. The bathrooms were okay, good water pressure and temperature but the sliding glass door frame was easy to hit your head on. Overall, with the stay for the people and activities, but if you value well-appointed rooms, it wasn't the highest standard.

We stayed 2 nights last weekend for our anniversary. The location is gorgeous, can’t beat it. We bought the most expensive room outside of a suite and it was very nice. When we arrived and went to put drinks in the fridge someone before us had left salmon and cheese and it smelled so bad. We went and asked the front desk to please have this removed they said they would right away. No one ever came in the two days we were there. So our room smelled like fish and we couldn’t use the fridge. It was disappointing. Aside from that, we played mini golf which was fun. The restaurants were okay, did the buffet breakfast at the main one, which was fine but not worth $26 a person. The hot tub and pool weren’t as nice as they look in the photos. We will probably come back just based on the view and the location being so pretty.

I live just a few miles away from the lodge and went to dinner last night with some friends. The wait staff was amazing. The atmosphere is beautiful. My only problem is the food could be better. I had a lodge burger with fries. Everything was great except the burger pattie was frozen and tasteless. Now for 18 dollars for the meal. It’s so much cheaper and better to make homemade burgers. Please make those corrections. Thank you for a great evening.

The location of this lodge is beautiful, and the rooms that have good views are great, but my room did not have a great view. For an upscale lodge, the soaps are not at the level of the hotel. Strange observation but something that stuck with me. Loved the activities available and loved playing cornhole but that also had seen its day. This lodge is all about location, location, location but otherwise seemed surprisingly average.

This place was great when it first opened, but management has run it down. The person at the front when we were there was only one person and took 30 minutes to check one person ahead of us in. She didn't offer us any other normal complements of poker chips that the other customers had. Why are they leaving a new person alone at the front? . The food at the place was mediocre at best and they have a really boring menu. when this place opened originally They had a five star restaurant which was great. The remodeling that this place has done.was not good. The bar and main restaurant pretty much have the same boring menu. The service is slow And morale Of servers seem low.The golf course the grass was dead for at least nine holes. But the room was the worst part. They left the window open and so that night there were 100 mosquitoes at the top of our ceiling that I had to kill and I called them to come up but they couldn't spray anything. One of the workers told me they forgot to put the screen back in the room so that was a very sleepless night. It's just things like this, the little things that make this once special place not so special. I would fire all management and hire new people for this place that can spruce it up and get it on top of its game.

We came here on a company retreat. It was AMAZING! I couldn’t have been happier with the place. Everything about it was absolutely gorgeous. I truly hope we come here again. I can complain about absolutely nothing. It was a weekend I will never forget. Me and my wife had the time of our lives here. When we are old and can’t do much anymore this is going to be one of those memories that helps us escape the harsh reality that life is short.

Skamania Lodge is a breathtaking destination that is perfect for those who are looking for a serene and rejuvenating retreat. During my recent stay at the lodge, I was amazed by the beautiful surroundings, the delicious food, and the various amenities available. The lodge boasts a wonderful restaurant that serves a variety of mouth-watering dishes. From breakfast to dinner, the food was exceptional, and the service was outstanding. I enjoyed dining there and was impressed by the quality of the ingredients used in each dish. The saltwater pool at the Skamania Lodge was also a highlight of my stay. It is not only a great place to swim and relax, but it also offers stunning views of the surrounding forest. The pool area was clean and well-maintained, making it a perfect spot to spend an afternoon. In addition to the pool, the lodge offers plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, golfing, and zip-lining. The clean air and beautiful scenery made these activities even more enjoyable. Overall, my experience at Skamania Lodge was fantastic. The lodge is surrounded by natural beauty and offers top-notch amenities such as a great restaurant, a beautiful saltwater pool, and plenty of outdoor activities. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

This is the place to go to get great views and great food! The food at both restaurants is highly recommended. There is plenty to do at the lodge itself, or you can simply relax and enjoy the surroundings! We took advantage of the 3 hikes on the grounds, the 18-hole putting course, and the amazing outdoor hot tub.

Wow this place is nice. The rooms are really comfortable and the atmosphere is really relaxing. It's tucked in the trees overlooking the Columbia River and sort of embodies the Pacific Northwest vibe. Lots of adventure in just about any direction nearby, huge fireplace, and if you're lucky some kind of special event. Check out the Holliday buffet, you can't go wrong.

We came here over Thanksgiving and it was a great staycation! If you’re in Portland and you need a little get-away, it’s only about 40 min away! The outdoor hot tub was my favorite and wasn’t crowded (at least when we were there). The spa looks nice but I didn’t go because it was very pricey. We also walked on the trails around the resort and it was lovely. All around very relaxing.

A beautiful, relatively remote, hotel with wonderful views and lots to do and see. We spent the weekend for a wedding and had a blast. Plenty to fill the time outside of your event: our friends enjoyed the spa, there is an excellent disc golf course (and regular golf too), and it is a 5 minute drive to some lovely riverside views/attractions. We had a disappointing experience with the breakfast buffet so maybe skip that, but this was some of the best wedding food I've ever experienced, hands-down, so the kitchen staff know what they are doing!

WOW what a terrific place! This was our second time staying there and we were even more impressed than the first time (which was wonderful). We decided to go last minute and were lucky enough to get a terrific room with a gorgeous view of the river for December 30. Despite it being a very popular weekend for them, every employee we encountered was so professional and behaved with tremendous patience and grace. I really have to hand it to them! The front desk manager Deborah is really amazing, as are all of the lovely people who work with her, like Bernadette and Paula. The rooms are very clean and updated nicely. We even had a fireplace that added to the ambience of the room :) On the first floor they have a large, gorgeous room with a wall of windows looking out at the spectacular Columbia River Gorge, and plenty of different kinds of seating to accommodate all who would like to just sit and watch the mesmerizing view, or perhaps play a game at one of the many comfortable wood tables provided. We could tell that it was a great place for couples, families, kids and even quite dog friendly. Something for everyone! There was a spa, beautiful indoor pool and indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis. We didn’t get a chance to go zip-lining but it’s on the list for next time, as is their mini golf. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in their Cascade dining room, which was gorgeous, had spectacular views of the river, very good food and outstanding service! Again, all this on what must have been one of their busiest weekends of the year. Well done Deborah! and all of the hard-working, dedicated employees we were fortunate enough to encounter. We will definitely be seeing you again soon! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Booked 2 nights, but after a night we quit and came home which is a first. The location was fantastic, lodge had fantastic views and has a great bar and facilities. However the rooms, in particular the beds and the air conditioner were so bad that we just did not sleep.

What a jewel with one of the best views in the state. I was here back in 2017 and didn’t like the food. Now back in 2023: they have a new menu with FRESHLY made food that’s delicious. The cleanliness of the facilities and the courteously of staff is also wonderful. I’m really impressed and so glad we gave it another try. If you were here long ago, give it another shot. The food got me the most! Cleanest towels I’ve used in any US hotel.

Attending an event at Skamania Lodge? You're in for a treat. The lodge is beautiful, and the banquet staff is amazing. PLANNING an event at Skamania Lodge? Good luck! Skamania's policies are so rigid, make sure you have all your details in place BEFORE you sign the contract. We often secure our date with Skamania a YEAR in advance, to ensure we get the date we need for our event, and we often spend tens of thousands of dollars on our event. After going through some budget cuts I needed to adjust the date and number of lodging rooms, again, almost a year in advance, but nope! I could change the date, but they still want every dollar, so they'll upgrade our rooms to more expensive ones to make up the difference. Thankfully, I didn't need to cancel my event, because they'd still want FIFTY percent of their anticipated revenue, and that's if I cancel more than a year in advance. It's clear that Skamania Lodge cares more about the All-mighty dollar than about their relationship with the organizations that plan events there. After our current contract is fulfilled, we won't be returning there.

Great place to escape the common hotel. Rooms are comfortable and up to date. There is plenty of parking but it’s a little walk to the lodge. Lots to do; hiking, golf, mini-golf, etc. See their website for current events and options. The is a great area behind the office to sit and relax all day long. The pool, hot tubs, and sauna were clean and well maintained. We didn’t eat here because of the reviews. The staff has been very nice and accommodating. It’s a great place to relax and unwind.

One of the best stays near the Washington-Oregon area. Highly recommend this place for its location. It's got great views of the Columbia gorge and mountains. Recommend to get gorge facing rooms. The casual dining food was awesome, however the formula dining food could be slightly better for the price. Ideal for families, couples, elders who are looking to have a calm relaxing time and with some fun things to do.

I loved staying here. It was our anniversary and we made this one of our stops. Stayed in the treehouse and it was absolutely incredible. The golf course was a blast!! The food was good, steak was cooked wrong, still tender. Spa was amazing, we each enjoyed a massage in the morning. Thank you for such an amazing stay!!

We celebrated our wedding night there last weekend and the gave 5 star service! We always love going to Skamania (was our first overnight together also). The food is excellent, quiet, clean and friendly staff. Will of course be back!

So many things to do. Beautiful area around the lodge. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Picture is of the Sasquatch that was on the bed when checking in to our room. They have them available for purchase and so much more. Would be able to do the entire weeks vacation and not leave the lodge. Very kid friendly!!

We loved our three-day stay. It has a beautiful view. The kids had fun at the pool and also playing at the big yard. It has a nice trail for a nature walk. During busy weekends, making reservations for dinner ahead of time recommended. It was clean and well maintained.
