👍👍 A small place in a strip mall with big flavor. We tried two dishes and they were both outstanding. There was a bit of heat in the dishes but nothing I couldn't handle. I would go again for sure! People often mention Ethiopian, delicious, injera, recommend, good,

I have to agree with some of the other reviews, the spices are amazing, without being overpowering. The injera was perfect for holding big bites of delicious lentils. I had the Bayayenetu (vegetarian combination) and it will last me at least two meals. It’s hardy, and healthy, and I will definitely be eating here often.

I can’t recommend Try Me! enough. The food is absolutely fantastic: made fresh and with care. The owners are incredibly kind and talented culinary wizards. I’ve ordered takeout here many times during COvID and the quality is on par with what you’d get dining in. A true hidden gem in Gresham and the Portland area at large.

If you're looking for top-notch, authentic, fresh, and classic Ethiopian food, look no further! The man can cook! This was absolutely the best kitfo we ever had! The injera is the real deal. It's all super reasonable, friendly, and a calming atmosphere for lunch and/or dinner. The owners are incredibly friendly and personable.

Was excited to find an Ethiopian Restaurant near where I was staying. It was all I hoped plenty of food full of flavor. Great option for Vegans and Carnivores alike.

This little hole in the wall was a find. My first experience with Ethiopian food and I'm sorry it is so far away. The place is small and intimate, the staff friendly and helpful. The food was very very good. We ordered the chef choice meat dish and weren't disappointed. The spices and sauces were great, but the shining star dish was the bread. Highly recommend trying this great little joint.

Tried the Ye Beg Wat. The flavors are amazing and rich without being overwhelming on the spice. The side bread, the injera, compliments everything well. Service is friendly and the person serving me is a great conversationalist. I will be coming back to try other menu items.

First time trying Ethiopian food and it wasn't bad at all. Not quite sure what the name of the dish was but it had steak and veggies in it..

We had an incredible meal; the service was friendly and quick, the price was a good value, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the doro tibs and vegetable sampler - more than enough great food for two hungry travelers.

I’ve been 4 or 5 times now. I had a close friend who was Ethiopian (miss you) and he cooked for us regularly. I’ve always thought home cooked > Bete Lukas > other spots. Try me is as good or better than Bete, albeit with a smaller menu. The Siga Wat is my favorite followed closely by Siga tibs. I have a 5yo who is willing to eat the vegetarian; potatoes, carrots, onions cooked soft in a “buttery” sauce (no idea). I love it too. I always order extra injera, but end up not needing it. Just read they’ve added lamb to the menu, gonna order it tonight.

We enjoyed our dinner. I especially like the vegitarian options. It won't break your bank eating here and will fill you full. I highly recommend trying this restaurant. I especially like the bread.

We don’t have Ethiopian food In Salem so whenever I get the chance to get Ethiopian or African food, I will jump to it. This place is cozy and comfortable inside. I would definitely come back to eat in. However, I was on the go and decided to order takeout. It was delicious. I ordered the Combo plate that easily fed two of us and also had leftovers for the morning. The injera was so good, as was all the flavors. Five stars!

This place was absolutely AMAZING and delicious!! If I could rate it 5.5 stars, then I would because it is definitely worthy of 5.5 stars and the people who run it are very kind and welcoming. Wonderful atmosphere in general!

I haven't had Ethiopian since moving to the PNW and so my son and I made a plan to grab some while I was visiting him in Portland for the weekend. At the first bite it immediately took me back to the first time I had it in Salt Lake. The combo of the sour from the injera and the spices from the various stews is perfection. Try Me has definitely earned it's rating on Google, it was fantastic. I didn't want to stop eating, even when I was full. Edit: I misread the "spend" amount and have updated it to reflect per-person.

Truly, the BEST authentic cuisine you'll find in Gresham! Try the Doro Tibs, it's delicious! Lamb, beef, chicken and vegetarian options are available. Haven't tried the Ethiopian beer yet, but will. Highly recommend this little gem in Gresham.

The food was delicious! The seasoning was just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming. I would definitely return here.

Try Me! was recommended by several people and didn’t disappoint! Ordered the #5 meat and veggie combo. Everything was so, so flavorful. Can’t recommend enough!

The guy was pretty nice, but they were out of the chicken stew, so I got the only other poultry option. It was ok. I asked for mild, and it's hot! Granted, I may have a weak palate. 🤣 I spent $12.99.. I'm not sure it was really worth the price. I won't be going back. But, maybe it's just not my style of food. I've never had it before, so I can't really give a good review.

I can’t remember if I’ve left a review previously but the fact it didn’t pop up makes me think I didn’t. This place is a hidden gem. I ate it all in the car it was so good couldn’t even wait to get home. Someone is visiting out of state and I said we MUST share the veggie platter here. It’s worth driving out of the way to Gresham for this authentic service and food.

Very disrespectful place. First of all the owner pick and chooses his favorites, And very racist to his own kind. I have went her multiple times and have gotten treated badly. But one thing I won’t complain about is the food, it is very much delicious.
