Gorgeous beach. In the summer, it gets pretty packed on hot days, especially weekends. Unfortunately a lot of wakes from jet skis make the water stinky and rough for stand up paddle boarding. Lots of loud country music in certain areas of the beach, not everybody’s favorite. Hardly anyone around in cooler days and has great views of Mt Hood if you get out in the water. Pretty clean thankfully.

Visited on a foggy and rainy day. Seems pleasant. There's a short path leading to a beach that runs along the Willamette River. I plan to go back again soon.

We have been here several times now & its such a great place for the kids. Parking can get a bit tricky, if the parking areas are full you might have to walk a bit (approx a couple blocks worth) to get there but its better than no parking at all..esp on a hot day!! Really nice sandy beach & shallow waters & you can see the sun set, too if you want. Really beautiful!

Cottonwood is beautiful. A perfect place to sit and watch the intricacies of nature unfold. The wind on the water, the sunset over the trees, the birds gliding past. This is a beach for quiet contemplation and intimate gatherings with close friends.

The water smelled really bad like sewage, but I think it was just all the seaweed that was growing near the beach. It's almost like a wall of seaweed, so you can't really swim per say, but wading in and dunking your body. Two kayakers said they also spotted dead beavers by the beach. Maybe that was the smell. Otherwise it's a nice big beach.

This was my first time coming here, and it's a fantastic place to come spend the day swimming! The Columbia was nice and warm, current was so gentle, and the sand below my feet was nice and smooth. I will be coming back again this summer for sure!

I really enjoy the walk I’ve done through here, and the beach is nice, but the mosquitoes are REALLY bad. I couldn’t be down on the sand without feeling miserable and swatting at myself constantly. The park itself is clean enough (sometimes the trash bins are overflowed) and is for the most part pretty quiet.

We love the beach, but getting down to and leaving the beach is treacherous. There is a steep, rocky, dangerous incline that everyone struggles with. They should put some sort of simple ramp there so beach goers are safe.

Beach is lovely, great for kids.. but the mosquitoes are literally horrid as if it's a horror movie.. walking TO AND FROM THE BEACH. My partner got bit literally around 40 times just on the arms, neck and head.

Late May now and the main entrance to the park is flooded due to the high river. Head to the south end on the parking lot and the other entrance is dry. We walked along the dike to Steamboat Landing Park. Nice easy walk with out dogs. No shade along the dike. Cottonwood park has a shower and footwasher. You can water your dogs there as well..

This is BY FAR my favorite spot to take my kids on a hot day. The short trek is totally worth the sandy beach, shallow waters, and relatively light currents. We bring our beach toys, our inner tubes, and a cooler full of snacks and sandwiches and hang out for hours!

So beautiful at William Clark park and cottonwood beach. Lots of walkers, bicyclists and families with young children. The children playing on the beach in the sand, getting dirty, wet oh how much fun is that. Mom is right there watching over her flock, 3 sm children having a fun afternoon. Walked more than a mile, first time since my multiple fractured big toe, no to surgery...it was great, to walk among mother natures beauty, again....

This beach was rough. There was a lot of garbage and cigarette butts all over the sand. The mosquitoes were eating my family alive right when we arrived.

Nice wide beach during low waters in late summer.
