First off, I want to say I really enjoyed working with Dr. Nadia English-Williams. She makes you feel comfortable and treats you like a person not just a patient. I believe she cares about her clients and their well being. I really appreciate that. I gave Canyon Medical Center a feel and decided to go elsewhere for other reasons. Before I go, I did want to also add that Dr. Seth Burrell was my least favorite physician in my short time at Canyon Medical Center. He did my 18 week Ultrasound, did not introduce himself, did not address that my husband was in the room or ask any follow up questions, was not personable at all. Seth was actually very rude and made me and my husband very uncomfortable. Only time he engaged in slight conversation was to explain what was being shown on the screen during the ultrasound. As Dr. Burrell uploaded the images to have us airdrop them to our phones from his computer, it was dead silent no interaction or small talk just no people skills whatsoever. After we got the images he told us we were done. I got the impression that he did not like his job and that we were a waste of his time. Dr. Burrell made me feel like he didnā€™t care and wanted us out of his office. This was my husbands first time seeing our first baby due to Covid-19 and he ruined his experience. This pregnancy is a very important thing to us because it took us a very long time to have one and every moment should be a special one for the both of us. (Perhaps having another person from the clinic in the room during ultrasounds would help even during a pandemic.)

My husband and I are pregnant with our first child, and were very much looking forward to working with your clinic. On Monday, 5/3/2021, we had a financial consultation that had to be cancelled due to one of your employees spontaneously quitting. We tried to be understanding and flexible, and were told that a financial workup would be sent to our e-mail. We never received it... Then today, 5/5/2021, I received an e-mail at 8:40a advising that our appointment with Dr. Karen DeWitt was rescheduled for 10:15a when our original appointment was 10:45a. What we found incredibly frustrating was a) the lack of attempts to communicate this change to us SOONER than the day of, b) the ASSUMPTION that we have such flexibility in our schedules to accommodate last minute changes, and c) the overall lack of respect for the time we set aside to have this appointment. We, again, really wanted this to be the center where we had our first child, but based on the level of unreliability ESPECIALLY on the front end of building our relationship, it would be absurd for us to proceed based on the evidence we have of how this center operates.

Never answers the phone or emails or texts. Unresponsive to needs. One doctor there is great when we meet up in person and is somewhat responsive still on day 3 of waiting back for a response. I started out loving them and now I donā€™t. They never called me back when my son had a 104 fever for several days to get help, resulting in an ER visit. They never called back when my toddler got attacked by a dog (the face) and we needed a home visit. They take forever to send work orders or documents out for medical things (like for my toddler to get an x-ray when he had pneumonia). They wouldnā€™t see us or return my calls when my toddler was having respiratory issues, so we had to make several urgent care visits (5) before they would see my little one. At that point, he was not even diagnosed and it had been 3-4 months of no sleep and watching my childā€™s breathing rhythms at night. The list goes on. Iā€™m not sure what happened to them in the last 6 mo, but Iā€™m super discouraged.

Canyon Medical Center was difficult to work with from the start. I moved across the country and called to establish a pediatrician for my kids. I scheduled an appointment, filled out all the paperwork, and received a confirmation email with the address. I arrived to the appointment on time at the address provided, only to find out that it was not the right place. Confused, I called Canyon Medical Center and was told that I was 20 minutes from their office. I informed them that I received the address from their website/confirmation email, but it didnā€™t matter ā€” they couldnā€™t make time for me that afternoon. As a healthcare provider myself, I can say that this is an unacceptable way to treat a client, especially a new one. Scheduling shuffles can almost always be made, especially with the mistake is not the patientā€™s. They couldnā€™t get us on the schedule for another three weeks. Frustrated, I accepted the delayed appointment. In the meantime, my son became very sick and needed a same-day appointment. I called to schedule but they told me he couldnā€™t be seen without being an established patient. The receptionist was not compassionate about my situation, nor did they provide any recommendations of where I could be seen in the meantime. I called two other pediatrician practices (Sellwood and Metropolitan Pediatrics) for an urgent appointment and they both had same-day availability for an unestablished patient. We had a fantastic experience with Casey at Sellwood and I will not be wasting another second with Canyon Medical Center. This is not family-friendly or patient-centered care. After reading the reviews, I see that my experience was not an isolated event. Very disappointing.

I had my son last year at Canyon Medical Center and I can't imagine having a baby anywhere else! Initially my family had concerns with me having him outside of a hospital, but by the end, they were impressed and knew that I wouldn't have received that type of care anywhere else! Overall, they were all kind and encouraging. They let me be in control of my birth. (Unlike stories I have heard from friends who had babies at hospitals.) The post-partum care was top notch and it truly felt like I was in a hotel. I highly recommend them to anyone having a baby!

I absolutely love Canyon Medical Center. Their naturopathic care is so wonderful. I have NEVER enjoyed going to the doctor until I met Dr. Leslie Hamlett. She is so warm, friendly, caring, empathetic, & knowledgeable. So is all of the other staff. The clinic is very homey feeling and I love that I can buy really high quality supplements/tinctures/products there. The birth center is amazing! I tell all of my friends that they should consider giving birth there. It was my first baby and Leslie (midwife) and Seth (ultrasounds) made me feel so safe and secure every step of the way. My birth was such an amazing experience and I hope I get to have all of my babies here. I was thrilled to have a natural water birth that went so smoothly. The postpartum care that I received was top notch. I am also thrilled that I can continue pediatric care with the same doctor that delivered my baby!

My partner and I have tried to reach Canyon Medical Center for weeks now and have been unable to reach a receptionist- weā€™ve tried emailing, leaving messages, and calling throughout the day but have received no reply. We were hoping to establish pediatric care here but it seems like weā€™ll have to look elsewhere. I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever experienced such a total lack of communication from a healthcare provider before.

Absolutely ridiculous and infuriating, had an ultrasound refereed out here got here just to be told they don't take OHP (which was why I was referred out to them) and I had to pay out of pocket for it. They didn't even call to tell me before my appointment that there was Changes and didnā€™t take OHP anymore and if I wanted an ultrasound that I would have to pay out of pocket (they just put it in my notes, never called and just assumed I would pay, no communication). If someone is asking if you take OHP and scheduled an appointment through OHP do you think they are going to have the funds to pay out of pocket!?? Ridiculous waste of time and gas to get there just to cancel because I'm not paying out of pocket. Do not recommend this place, poor communication and very inconsiderate.

I give this wonderful medical center 5 stars! They are wonderful staff. Everyone I have ever talked with has been so helpful. They give you great advice on whatever works best for each family or individual as well as take great care of their patients. I am so happy I chose to come here for my primary care and to know that they have nothing but mine and their patients, interest at heart. I recommend them to everyone because I believe they will be pleased with the service this center gives.

Having had my first baby in the hospital and second baby at Canyon, I cannot express how much of a positive difference the midwives here made. The environment and people are so supportive and provide a much gentler and calmer birthing experience. The follow-ups after birth were also incredibly helpful as they came to my house instead of making me pack up my newborn to go to them. Overall a great experience!

I love canyon medical center, the doctors there are amazing, even when I had to switch last minute at the end of my first pregnancy. I have had all of my births there and it was amazing. The birthing rooms are wonderful, the staff is super supportive and respond right away to my messages when I have a question. The front desk staff even helped when I stopped by unannounced with my daughter's broken arm this month.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Canyon Medical Center and staff! We have had an incredible experience with the birth of all 3 children there, plus our familyā€™s primary care since our oldest was born. Itā€™s truly a unique experience having everything from birthing, well-womenā€™s, pediatric, allergy and food intolerance care, and all the other specialties and care their staff brings to the table. Itā€™s refreshing to have doctors that know and care for your family full-spectrum, from birth on. They create an environment and medical care experience that is friendly, safe, and caring. I love that they seek to find the cause and treatment of any medical issues, rather than medicating the symptoms. We recently moved 2 hours away and still have kept them as our primary care facility. Itā€™s been totally worth it!

I really wanted to make this my home for all things pregnancy related but they are so understaffed that they refuse to call or even email patients back. If they aren't accepting new patients they need to put that in their automated answering message or on their website. If they are but can't handle the call volume then they need to be able to set up a new patient appointment online. I tried to get in with this clinic for over 2 weeks and now the clinic I'm forced to go with I can't even get I. For another 3 weeks.... I'll be 16 weeks along by the time I get full confirmation that everything is OK with myself and my baby! I'm high risk but that doesn't seem to matter to anyone anymore.

They are extremely greedy and stuck up beware they will overcharge for everything all those "fees" that insurance doesn't cover are not real no other places charge those ridiculous fees if your low income or not do not come here! unnecessary fees are not worth when all that money could go to the lovely baby on the way. The only reason they charge those unnecessary fees is for more money in their pockets much more beautiful places do not charge any of that for any reason.

I had my son at Canyon almost 3 years ago and couldnā€™t have been happier with the care of Vanessa and Nadia. Iā€™m pregnant again but live out of the area now and I havenā€™t found anyone who even compares to these two. Iā€™m sad to see bad reviews recently from what seems like lack of front desk support but I wanted to post here and say that I had an incredible experience as a patient myself, through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and pediatric care for me son.

From the first time I interviewed the midwives at Canyon i knew it was where I wanted to have my babies. I delivered both of my kids there and it was an amazing experience for both of them. Leslie is an amazing doctor and person. I absolutely love her. My kids and myself still see her as our family doctor. I always feel like i can reach out to them when i need help.

Canyon Medical Center provided the best care for our family. After delivering two babies in a hospital setting, I decided to try a home birth and successfully welcomed our third child into the world under Leslieā€™s care. Throughout my pregnancy, I felt so heard and well cared for. Leslie and her staff were professional and patient, attending to my every need. I could not recommend Leslie and Canyon Medical Center more. I feel as though I got the dream birth I desired and I know itā€™s because I felt confident in them as my team.

We used CMC for the birth of our July 2021 baby and are using them again for our 2023 baby. I was referred to them by a client of mine who shared her experience and their birth center does not disappoint. The facility itself is warm and inviting. They learn your name and family fairly quickly and treat you like a person and a part of the CMC family rather than just a patient. The clinic has in house ultrasound (Dr. Seth is very talented and skilled at what he does but he is not very personable. Kind and professional yes but if youā€™re expecting some magical warm fuzzy experience seeing your baby he is not it. That said I still really like the guy and am happy to go to him for our ultrasounds. Youā€™re still going to get your pictures and information and see the baby but it feels more clinical and is not ā€œan experience.ā€ I just want to set the expectation for future moms), they also do in house labs and have patient rooms that feel less sterile than most doctor offices given the couches and family friendly set up. Upstairs is all doctor offices and lab area and downstairs is the birth center portion of the clinic. The birth center is so cozy! Itā€™s like going to a super cute Air B&B equip with birthing tub, walk in shower, a bed large enough to birth, co sleep and relax with both baby and spouse and all the supplies conveniently located. This facility literally caters to people from birth to adult and of course prenatal. My whole family is set up for primary care here and if I had 1 complaint it is that for the children there is no after hours advice nurse/doctor number to call when you have those questions in the middle of the night or on weekends. The after hour care line stops after youā€™re 6 weeks postpartum. I really wish that was different but the care here is still fantastic which leads me to my doctor: Dr. Renee George. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. George. She honestly feels like going to see a friend when I come for my prenatal visits because sheā€™s taken the time to get to know me as a person, my family, and we always share laughter and jokes. The best part is her warm and bubbly personality does not take away from her professionalism and knowledge as a doctor. She is so informative and helpful with diagnosis, treatment options, and coming up with a plan A, B, and C. If she is not 100% certain on something there is no guessing and gaslighting you. She will either look it up in whatever medical journals they use or ask for a second opinion from another doctor in the office. I so appreciate her honesty and transparency. I see her and bring my family to see her with full and utter confidence that she is providing the best and most informative care. A lot of people go their whole lives searching for a doctor like Dr. George but Iā€™m here to tell you the search is over. She puts her whole heart into showing up every day for her patients and it shows in the quality of her care and skill. If you are looking for a midwife or maybe even just a PCP I highly encourage you to call Canyon and request Dr. George, itā€™ll be the best thing you do for yourself this year.

The medical care my family and I receive at Canyon Medical Center is stellar! I have never felt so cared for by any other medical professional. My voice is always heard, options are always made known, and my care always seems to be of highest priority. My husband, my children, and I receive all of our routine care here. I have also had one birth with Canyon (couldn't say enough good things about their birthing team!). We couldn't be happier.

I absolutely love canyon medical center, I've been going here for over a year now, through my pregnancy, childbirth, PP, and now care for myself and my baby! All around 10 out of 10 experience. I was never pushed to do anything that wasn't necessary for me or my baby, I chose how I wanted to give birth, and have just had an all around amazing experience. I've seen Dr. Emerald Mansfield and Dr. Renee George, both mid wife's were amazing. The staff takes care of you, they know me when I go in and it feels personal rather than just another patient and I love that! I would 100% recommend to anyone whether it's your first child or 5th!

As a fellow medical professional, we are especially picky about our health care team, especially for our newborn. We saw Dr. DeWitt for a frenectomy and it went super smoothly. Our daughter was having issues with latching while breastfeeding, and we have seem some noticeable improvements since the procedure. Dr. DeWitt was caring, patient, and informative, and treats with a really nice, calm yet confident demeanor. The clinic was flexible with scheduling as we needed to get in as soon as possible. Dr. DeWitt even gave us oral exercises to continue with our daughter over the coming weeks. I highly recommend Dr. DeWitt and Canyon Medical Center for their services, especially naturopathic baby/pediatric care.

Just find another doctor. First of all there is literally only 3 parking spaces. Secondly they cannot maintain their patient schedules. Not only did I wait for over 30 mins after the time my baby's appointment was scheduled to start, but I heard the receptionist calling other patients telling them they were unable to keep their schedules as well. I told them I was out of time since my appointment should have started 30 mins ago and already be over and I needed to reschedule. They responded by saying I could come back in 4 WEEKS. I then said my wife would call them to reschedule and they had the audacity to send my wife a text immediately saying I canceled the appointment and a fee could be implemented. It is a scam to collect insurance fees. Incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. Just find another doctor.
