If you are black this is NOT a safe space! I had a horrible experience with a racist patron and this establishment took their side. This is after me regularly supporting this place. I changed my review from the really nice one I had written after the experience.

Wildcard. What do you call a cafe cocktail bar that is only slightly bigger than a breadbox? Spkrbox is so small that they had to remove some letters from the name so it would fit the location. Great location too in Capital Park where all the cool places are. I think my favorite thing was the view from the upstairs where you can people watch all day.

Nice little 2-level bar with dj spinning good music. Stopped by on a Monday night. Vibe is cool & non-pretentious.

A fun cozy place to enjoy some wonderful coffee and unique alcoholic drinks. Navigating the tiny spaces is part of the experience. I love the view from the loft.

Decided to stop by this morning for two hot green fairy lattes which were delicious! Very tasty and not foamy at all. Definitely will be craving it again later. The cinnamon donuts were bland, tasted like sugary bread. The barista was rude, I asked him to add something to my latte and he said, “This is a bar with coffee, not a café.” Unnecessary attitude, maybe he was having a bad day but no need to respond rudely to a polite request. The atmosphere is small and perfect for a quick stop to grab a coffee or a drink. Might stop by every now and then if I’m in the area for a latte.

Awesome place with an upstairs sitting room. There’s coffee, beer, cocktails, etc. Chill music and very unique design. This became one of my favorite coffee spaces! So unique come check it out !! ☕️

I visited the place tonight and decided to enjoy the evening on the patio. We had already ordered three rounds of drinks, and as we started the fourth round, an unfamiliar person, who appeared to be a bouncer or security guard, began intimidating patrons to check their IDs. What struck me as odd was that he wasn't wearing any security guard attire or anything to identify himself in that role. To keep it brief, this individual displayed a remarkable lack of respect, and I've never encountered someone with such a low level of professionalism. Surprisingly, the bartender even sided with him, despite having served us multiple times. So racist

Was excited to try this place. Really Cool building and look to it. We walked in and asked if they had any breakfast items with the coffee. The woman behind the counter rolled her eyes and 1/2 pointed to a platter of donuts and something wrapped in tinfoil. So we turned around and walked out. Too bad. DOCR across the street was very good coffee and nice. I’ll never understand treating customers with disdain.

Went there with a friend this morning for the first time. It’s so cute but the lady behind the counter was extremely rude. I stepped to the side to look at the menu and looked over to see her starring and frustrated with me, asking me if I’m going to order or not and motioning me to be faster. There was no one else waiting and I wasn’t even in front of her taking space. When I did order she didn’t say a word to me besides pointing to the pay screen. Coffee was amazing but what was the attitude for?

I dropped by here on a Saturday night with my partner. It was relatively empty ,however, the bartenders deliberately walked past us multiple times and did not greet us. This went on for nearly 6-10 minutes before I asked if we would be served. We ended up leaving without drinks. If you’re a native to Detroit I’d suggest supporting an establishment who respects locals and has pride in their establishment. Because this wasn’t it.

This place is definitely a gem! The atmosphere feels very cool. I came here for coffee and it was great, the bartender barista was very sweet, and her playlist was fire. Anyways I’ll have to come back here at night sometime to check out that aspect.

Coffee shop by day and dance party by night. This quirky music themed bar offers a wide range of beverages to suit any occasion. The staff here are very friendly and make you feel part of the crew. P.S don't forget to check out the hidden bar in the basement.

I went here last night & handed the barista my debit card to start a tab. I stayed awhile, had a couple drinks and forgot to grab my card when I left. Today when I went back to get my card the manager said they didn't have it after checking the cash register?? I went home, checked my account and there was a charge for my drinks so how could they not have my card the next day?? That issue aside, I love the atmosphere and vibe of this really funky, unique little coffee shop with a DJ spinning upstairs and a dark, almost hidden speakeasy in the basement. I'd give this place 5 stars if it weren't for the snafu with my card.

Fun and niche spot to enjoy some really unique drinks. My boyfriend and I went and had a fantastic time. Great house music and the smallness of the space really contributed to the intimacy of the date. Our bartender, Morgan, was absolutely fantastic! I ordered a basic vodka sour (I’m picky) and she offered to make me one with a bit of twist. Her creation was absolutely fantastic! She was so kind and evidently superb at her job.

This is by far the coolest coffee shop I've seen. Nice place to sit down and listen to house music. Prime drink menu, I highly recommend the Irish Coffee and El Duderino. And be sure to step down stairs to see a cool hidden gem.

Cool little corner coffee/booze bar off of capitol park. Very welcoming atmosphere with a great sound system so you can enjoy decent music with your libations.

Super unique spot in the heart of Detroit. Walking distance from any of the major sports stadiums. Cool spot to go to at any hour of the day, whether you're just starting it or coming as a nightcap. Update: Second time going. Everyone feels like a regular. Staff is friendlier than anywhere I've ever been. Lions pregame is a phenomenal move. Very dog and puppy friendly as well. This is such a great place to go at any time of day. Highly highly recommend. I got the Spanish coffee and LOVED it

My sister, her boyfriend, and I stopped here after seeing a musical at the Detroit Opera House. This place is located on a corner and has a cool, 70's/retro vibe to it. There are seats upstairs and a few seats near the bar on the main floor. They have a great list of coffee and cocktails. The bartender was so nice and was so much fun to talk to. I ordered the Espresso Martini that is made of vodka, St. George Nola, coffee reduction, milk, sugar, and is topped with three coffee beans. It tasted amazing and was so smooth! I could definitely just drink these all night. I also tried my sister's drink, which was called the Homerton. It's a take on the old fashioned. It's made with whiskey, Dolin dry, Carpano Antiga, coffee reduction, and bitters. it was also very good and smooth!
