Our server was fabulous. He was so welcoming and upbeat. He knew exactly what to recommend and checked on us throughout the duration of our lunch. Never an empty cup and even gave us recommendations on what to do in the area. The brunch is amazing, especially the bacon! I would highly recommend. The decor is beautiful!

Our waitress was amazing! Best service we've had in a long time. She was bubbly, made suggestions and was so kind. The bar accidentally messed up my drink and she brought out a new one before I even knew the drink was wrong! The food was delicious. Highly recommend the morning fries! We sat in the enclosed patio area and the aesthetic was wonderful. Can't wait to visit again!

Stopped in for brunch this morning. One of my favorite brunch’s I’ve had in a while! Our server took about 15-20 minutes to get to our table after being seated and was pretty normal, nothing special. Dropped the food items, didn’t check in, not very attentive, etc. So service wasn’t great, but everything else, BOMB. The atmosphere in the garden is stunning, tons of greenery and modern lighting, just gorgeous. Our coffee’s came with cream and brown sugar on the side and was great coffee, from coffeehaus! And the food was amazing, I stole a bite of one of my guests bacon from her salad. No exaggeration, probably some of the best bacon I’ve ever had. My avocado toast had honeycomb and I asked for a sunny side up egg, two came on the side. One of the best avo toasts, if not the best I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious, I could eat it every morning. My guests also loved their salad and french toast, only great things to say. I definitely intend to come back!

A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I had dinner at Public House for the first time since the place changed owners. We don't live in the area, but were headed to the zoo for the Wild Lights exhibit and decided to grabbed dinner in Ferndale first. We liked some things about the new PB, but overall had a pretty negative experience. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Our bartender, Lexie, was great and made a fantastic cocktail. 2. The back room is much improved with a full bar of it's own and beautiful decor. 3. We were able to get a table without waiting on a Sunday night. Cons: 1. We really miss the hushpuppies and carrots from the old PH menu. We tried the new carrots and they were good, but not great. 2. Not a fan of the huge tvs which make the front feel like a sports bar. Bring back the turntable and vinyl vibe! 3. The first table at which we were seated was directly in the line of a constant blast of hot air that literally blew my hair around. The people seated at the next table said that the host kept trying to seat that table and everyone asked to move. (Why they would do this when there were plenty of open tables is beyond me.) 4. The burgers/sandwiches aren't served with fries and an order costs way too much for the number of fries served (see photo) 5. And the straw that broke the camel's back - the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich was literally RAW inside. Not a little undercooked - completely raw (see the photo) Unfortunately, I discovered this after eating a bite. The kicker was that they took that and the fries off the bill, but had us pay for the hamburger that my husband and I split as our dinner. Seriously it was the only other thing on our bill, as we had ordered and paid for the carrots and our drinks at the inside bar before being sat. I feel they should've comped us the burger as well. I was so worried all night at the zoo that I was going to be sick that it kind of ruined that experience as well. Needless the say, Public House is off of our list for the foreseeable future! The two stars given here are only earned by our positive experience with Lexie at the bar.

Really great vegan options and mocktails! It’s nice they don’t overcharge for the non-alcoholic versions of their drinks (we got the Alice and the Florence — both really good). The vegan shrimp tacos were very good, and I would definitely come back for them. For the price, it’s not too filling ($16 for three very small tacos), and it’d be nice if the rice and beans were included, but instead, they are extra. Service was good, and our waitress made sure to confirm we were ordering vegan which was nice!

Usually a bit of a wait to dine in but it’s worth it! Wait staff is awesome and the ambiance is great. Prices are a bit on the expensive side but you’ll have a great time and an amazing meal. Excellent choice for Brunch or Dinner for vegans and meat eaters alike! Plenty of choices for both parties. If you’re a non-vegan like me, try out some of their vegan options! You’ll be surprised with how amazing and “real” it tastes! The vegan hot chicken sandwich with the vegan poutine was delicious for a dinner meal and that mushroom gravy is addicting! Public House is a go to choice whenever dining out when vegan pals.

Recently tried out their four course vegan dinner with gin cocktail pairings and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience! The most memorable of the dishes was the stuffed Napa cabbage and the chocolate mousse dessert! The pomegranate reduction on the risotto was amazing, although the dish was called mushroom steak and only had a few small pieces of mushroom on top of the risotto. It was delicious but naming of the dish may have been misleading. The olives and ‘feta’ was just bland tofu so this was my least favorite thing in the menu. Overall the dinner experience was a super fun date night. Even my boyfriend who very much likes eating meat really enjoyed the vegan dishes. The cocktails were very fun to try and had me trying things I normally would not order. The atmosphere of the restaurant is perfect, excellent seating comfort and table room and very pretty plant themed decor. The chef came around to our tables towards the end and we enjoyed telling him what we enjoyed. The entire staff was great!

Such a good brunch! Right in the center of where you want to be in Ferndale, plus a separate all-vegan menu! The vegan bacon was very good, and the Cajun shrimp was delish as well. Loved everything we got. Their Carrie drink was a hit

Love the decor on the patio! Food and service was really good, we will be back. We had the pretzel croissant, Nashville chicken sandwich, beet salad with crispy seitan and the cauliflower appetizer. The only one we didn’t like was the cauliflower… it had some cinnamon seasoning that just wasn’t our thing.

Came here to do a bit of party planning with my mom and sisters and was blown away by the service, food, and atmosphere. One of my sisters came here before and recommended it and I am so glad we took her recommendation. Our drinks were so unique and delicious, our server was sooo attentive and always seemed to be there when we needed something. She was amazing. And the food. My goodness. So flavorful. The drinks. Uniquely delicious. Definitely recommend coming here for their brunch.

Amazing dining experience! I would definitely recommend the garden seating for a more botanical atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant does wonderfully with food allergies and bonus for vegans/vegetarians, they prepare the vegan fare in a whole separate kitchen.

This is a great place to go for brunch! I love the atmosphere minus the heat lamp (in the very front at the window). The food was amazing. I got the strawberry shortcake French toast & it was not overly sweet it was perfect & the Mavis drink which was bomb (I had 2), order light ice though. Everyone enjoyed they meal & said they would come back!

The food and drinks delicious, the look was adorable, and the staff was quick and super friendly. It's an accommodating place with a full vegan menu, gluten free options, and mocktails. Note: the hot honey chicken (or whatever the chicken sandwich is called) was not considered spicy by my friends. As for wheelchair accessibility, the doors don't have buttons. There's seating on the main level and upstairs. The bathrooms could be challenging to get to with the narrow hallways near them but I'll have to get a better look next time. I didn't get a chance to see if the bathrooms are gendered or not but will check and update this review.

Atmosphere was orderly and clean. Loved the ambiance and the vegan catfish meal was nothing but amazing! So delish! All the flavors combined in this meal is definitely bringing me back for more!

My friend and I wanted to have some good vegan food. We selected this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The chicken had a very meaty texture which was very unique and I thought the burnt ends using sweet potatoes was creative. I thought my entree was a bit too busy, I had the cauliflower steak, the presentation wasn't what I anticipated based on the appetizers. I did enjoy the Caesar salad.

Public House earns solid stars with its outstanding service and vibrant atmosphere – a definite five-star experience in those aspects. However, the food falls a bit short of the same standard. The hash, unfortunately, comes across as a thick, fried mass of molded potatoes. The chicken and waffle dish lacked the expected flavor punch, leaning towards blandness. Additionally, the pancakes were overly sweet, overpowering the palate. Despite the culinary letdown, the impeccable service and lively ambiance make Public House a worthwhile visit.

We made reservations and ended up having a busy day and plans changed. We attempted to cancel our reservations and were informed that they would charge us $20 per person to cancel. So make sure you can definitively make it and if something changes be ready to pay! We ended up going and ordered a few things. The carrot cake was okay. My friends had the burger and said it was great. We sat in the back enclosed patio which has a cool vibe however, the floor was so slick that you could just slide your feet on the floor. It is a HUGE fall risk. Be prepared to take tiny steps as though you are walking on ice. It was pouring while we were there and water was dripping from the skylights onto the plants. The bathroom was disgusting! There was soaked, used toilet paper on the floor. The door stuck and I had to yank it open to exit. The thought of employees using that restroom and then serving customers was so gross. Finally, the door that the employees use to smoke was right next to our table and every time an employee went out to smoke a bunch of smoked entered the restaurant. I will not be returning.

***Manager worked with us on this*** 4 of us came in for lunch on a Sunday. Tables that were there for mimosas/brunch were getting more attention than our table. Tough pick for lunch on a Sunday I guess. Of 4 plates ordered, 3 made it out at the same time, and the 4th came out after 2 of the already out plates were eaten. One person ordered chicken and waffles -- their cutlet was small and mostly breading. Another person got the sausage scramble -- this one came out late, and only had 6 or 7 small chunks of sausage in the whole dish (pictured).

I made a reservation for the garden room to have a quiet dinner with a friend after a long 2.5 hour drive, but was sat in the main dining which was extremely loud. I felt like I had to yell just to have a conversation. All of the seats were super close which gave the feeling of no privacy since everyone was sat 2 feet apart, however I couldn't hear anything since again, it was SO loud. My waitress was phenomenal: attentive, sweet, and thoughtful. Unfortunately, since she was not 21, she did not have any personal recommendations on the cocktails, but she was more than willing to follow-up with the bartender on two different questions. I wasn't particularly fond of either of my cocktails (Blossom and Ariel), but my friend did enjoy one of hers (had Ariel and liked Bartender's Special ). Thankfully, our food was delicious. We ordered sliders, mac & cheese, deviled eggs, garlic parmesan wings, and carne asada fries. I gave 2 stars for the food and service. I removed 3 stars for the cocktails, excessively loud music, and the lack of communication regarding updating my reservation from the garden area to main dining without warning during check-in which ruined my dinner with my friend since it was hard to catch up when we had a hard time hearing each other. The vibe itself was fun, cute, and trendy (just too loud to be enjoyable - specifically in the main dining area).

Watched the World Cup final ! Congratulations 🇦🇷!! Stopped by for brunch and a Bloody Mary. Good and spicy. Also a Garden Omelette was really good. There’s a garage across the street so parking is a breeze. Service is great. If you enter off the side street go to the entrance on 9 mile for a table. 2 bars and a great outside/ enclosed/ warm area w a bar a seating for a meal. Recommend a stop by you will luv the food / service and ambience!

We sat "outside", it was pretty cold but it's beautiful out here. I just wish it was a bit more warmth on the patio. It's not that much space on the inside but, If you like cozy indoor seating arrangements It's pretty nice. The food was bomb, so bomb I forgot to even take photos of some of it. The portion sizes were excellent. I'll definitely be back again.

Because it’s bacon I give them a 5 star. Candied Bacon that starts from scratch here at Public House ( you can tasted the Smoke ) Also a solid BLT with Garlic aioli. Bacon could have used a few More minutes on grill. Mexican coke. Reason I vacillated between 4 and 5 stars…I sat at bar was ignored but their single bartender was jammed up with a full bar and fulfilling drink orders. Not their fault. :)
