This is the spot! Must try. Tucked away off of 146th, next to my favorite breakfast spot lies quality food with great service. The hosts was very nice, servers super nice and on the refills. The good is unique, quality and mix of regions. Will be back! Clean, and decor is up to date.

First time I had been back since the week they opened. For some reason, the Local would never come up on "places to eat". I had the Nashville Chicken sandwich and not pictured was the Berry Crisp. The food, overall, was very good! The Nashville Chicken is more of a red habanero paste, than a true Nashville pepper sauce. Nice heat to it and I liked that they even printed a warning for others that it is actually hot. The Cajun tots were crispy and had plenty of spices on them. The absolute star was the Berry Crisp though. It was in a large bowl, topped with whipped cream and a scoop of ice cream. It was very dense, but on the good kind of way. I could have just had that and would have been satisfied. I definitely think that we will be adding the Local to the family rotation.

This is such a great spot with local, fresh ingredients, plenty of vegetarian and GF options and a solid beer selection. I hadn’t been here in years, but coming back again, it was just as good as I remember. I had the cauliflower wrap and Cajun tots. Delicious!

Food was average at best. Orders did not come out as ordered. However the manager came out and apologized for what she called a perfect storm of a mess in the kitchen. Then made everything right Will be returning

Food was great, service was great, overall it was great! Came in for dinner to eat and watch some football (and whatever else was on the many TVs). Lots of options to eat and everything clearly marked as vegetarian — really appreciate this. Splurge on the 75¢ for Cajun spices on your tater tots — it’s worth it!!

Absolutely delicious! We started with the goat cheese which we wanted to lick the plate clean. I had the steak salad and my husband had the Nashville hot chicken, both were sooooo good! The bacon vinaigrette was DELICIOUS! My only complaint was that we were charged $2.50 for additional bread for our goat cheese. (we had a ton left from the first loaf and were not told additional bread would cost)

Good place. Unique. Food was good, but not great. Burger was dry. Tots are good. A solid choice, but nothing special. Seems like the menu has been reduced quite a bit.

Not a fan! Between the food, drinks and busted booth seats, I don't foresee myself returning anytime soon. I am not trying to be hurtful to a local business but it was bad. This is my honest, slightly harsh review. The Espresso Martini tasted like a water downed, day old coffee. There was no hint of sweetness, limited vodka, and pretty sure it was not espresso used but rather coffee. Beignets (pictured) are supposed to be light, airy, pillowy, pockets of sweetness. I think these beignets could have broken a window. Literally, took a bite of one and didn't finish the rest. I feel like years ago I had them and they were some of the best around but they must have changed their recipe. My main entree was one of their rotating specials and it couldn't have been less flavorful. It was a buttered pasta and chicken dish. Everything was missing - salt, pepper, garlic. The restuarant has been around for a while and I understand wear and tear but the booth seating was so torn up, that it dug into my legs as I sat there. Do not wear shorts or a short dress and sit in these.

I love The Local! I have been many times and have never had any complaints. My husband and some friends went to The Local over the weekend to take advantage of the outdoor seating. I ordered a BLT made with fried green tomatoes and my BLT came without any bacon. They ended up taking the full cost of my meal off our bill and insisted that I take home a brand new sandwich in a to go container. This really was above and beyond and I appreciate the customer service. Also, the missing bacon was an honest mistake as the new seasonal summer menu had just come out. Anyway, go to The Local you won't be dissapointed!

This used to be my go-to place; however, after today, I won’t be back. Wait staff were friendly and attentive enough, never had an issue with them! However, the food quality and presentation have gone down substantially while the prices have increased substantially. I am not sure what happened after 2019, but they need to figure this out! So disappointing that such a previously great restaurant has gone downtown in such a short time with new ownership/management and obviously, new cooks... food consistency and quality have really suffered! 1

I ordered a burger based on positive reviews following a google search of best burgers in the area. I only took one bite of the burger. The burger was chargrilled and burnt despite ordering it medium. I went to Culver’s after not eating my meal and got a superior meal.

I thought I would try something new and support a local business today, but now I wish that I hadn’t. The ambience is nice enough, and I thought it was strange at first that there were only about six people in the whole restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. I walked in and sat at the bar at five minutes till two, the bartender Anna was cleaning up after some people who just left, I had to ask for everything including a tea to start off with and was never asked questions or welcomed at all. She was the only visible employee in the entire restaurant and seemed to be running the place by herself. After giving her a few chances to ask if I was ready to order I finally asked her if I could order and finally ordered a burger. She asked if I wanted it medium and I said yes since that’s my preferred temperature. At 2:35. The burger was finally delivered well done and crumbling falling apart. I could tell it had sat in the window for at least 10 minutes the fries were medium rare and cold in the middle, and the tomato was a top slice with the core still in it. She never asked how my food was, and I had to ask her for my check. All in all I paid $22 for a terrible burger with terrible service. I still tipped her 20% because maybe she was just having a bad day and running the place by herself even though there were only eight people in there, now I know why. Save your money and go somewhere else.

We eat at The Local often and it's always great. But for lunch today I had the pork chops in a Vietnamese sauce with rice noodles (sauced with chili peppers) and it was PHENOMENAL! If you've never been, you have to try this place. There's always something new and interesting on the menu....and I hope he keeps these pork chops on the menu!

Every time we go there (1x a month maybe) we walk out satisfied and ask ourselves why we don't go more often. Service is always good and the quality of the food is wonderful. They always have something new or different on the menu. Plus they have a great bar and always surprise with a new twist on a beverage.
