Amazing food for the right price! Steak & Fries cooked to perfection. Fish was a little heavy on the batter but still good.

Loved stopping at the Common Pub for dinner! I had a great plate of Fish & Chips with their infamous duck fat fries. Don't sleep on getting a side of duck fat fries with their house cheese sauce - so good! Great staff - very down to earth. Get your parking validated (from $9 to $5) if you park in the Detroit Historical Museum parking lot.

Onion rings came after we ate our entrées, and fries needed seasoning. Service could improve, but the food did come out hot and fresh. Drinks were good

***Just realized I had put one star instead of five. This is a great establishment and the intention of my review is to give constructive feedback not bring their overall rating down. We've had extraordinary experiences with this restaurant in the past and just recently noticed a few changes. The burgers don't taste as good as they did previously and the duck fat fries are cut too big,they tasted better when they were cut skinny. Also, consider making the establishment wheelchair accessible or at least putting a sign up to let patrons know to ask about accessibility.

This is what common restaurants aspire for. This is simply a four star bar that serves food. Not only is the food itself fantastic, but the presentation is of five star quality. The menus consistently change while always remaining both satisfying in quantity as well as quality. They cater to more than one religion's dietary restrictions and routinely are regarded as some of the best food in midtown Detroit. The entire service area is refurbished with all new tables, chairs booths, floors, windows and curtains. The restrooms are freshly painted and all have new sinks and vanities. The only thing that hasn't been recently replaced is the floors, though they made of a desireably classy cobblestone brick pattern. It would also appear that they host classy swing dance events in tandem with Wayne State University.

The good: Excellent food. Everything here is super delicious. They do it very well here. One of better burgers in town. The bad: service is par and the drink are OK. So as a bar meh, but food - great! The vibe is a weird mix of old nostalgic bar vibes but also with a dabs of modern lighting and space. Not sure what exactly there going for but it’s unique. Try to find the squirrel 🐿.

I absolutely was blown away by the food my first time here and since. Sadly the service leaves a lot to be desired. My waitress literally left in the middle of serving my table to go outside with her (bf? Some Detroit celebrity?) And we were literally an afterthought to any intention she had for a paying customer. After getting the order completely wrong and charging us for the wrong size items, and having the wings appetizer delivered at the same time as my food after waiting forever for drinks. I was done. The chef should go somewhere they're food can be appreciated. Edit: I appreciate your reaching out to me, I will for sure give you guys another try since I actually love the menu you guys offer but I don't need any kind of gift cards although it's polite of you to offer. I had just never in my entire life had a server just LEAVE in the middle of their job, u think that just really stuck with me. But you guys do really have a great menu and a good selection of beers. Everything on the food menu is a hit. The K dog is interesting, the smash burger is great, and all the entrees are top notch. Cocktails we had were great. The different sauces for the wings were tastes you won't get at regular wing places. The poutine of the day is always a interesting mix.

Such a nice ambience with mild music. Felt really nice to hangout out here. I ordered snacks as K-dog, very reasonably priced, tasty and available as vegetarian option as well. Though for happy hour, 3-6 pm on weekdays, they have very limited beer options but in general prices of beer is good. For drafts they have several options and some could be pricy, so good to check the price before ordering but overall great selection of draft, bottle and can beers. My servers/bartenders Bert & Jo were awesome. Jo asked me what kind of beers I liked and recommend a beer which I loved it. Bert suggested K-dog as vegetarian snack and that was delicious. I look forward to visiting this place again.

Common Pub never disappoints between their food and drinks. It always feels warm and inviting to come into. The prices are good and the food is far superior to some “nicer” restaurants in the area. If you are looking for an elevated local bar experience, this is the spot to come. I have never left wanting or with a complaint. Keep it up Common Pub!

The food was so good. I'll be back soon. My friend and I split the wings, Caesar salad and the fig sandwich. Everything was top notch and now I want to try the full menu!

Wednesday was my first time at the Common Pub for a business meeting, I love the butternut squash soup. Creamy, not to thick, great flavor. I will definitely try it again along with other dishes.

What happened to this place? It used to be the best burger & fries in Detroit. Both items have changed for the worse. This place feels more like a Chili’s every-time I come here.

We had a huge birthday celebration at this gem of a venue, and it was nothing short of amazing all the way around! Delicious food, amazing service, and very clean! They made the menu based off of our budget and food preferences, and it was spectacular. They have a back room there and there is a pool table back there, and they set up giant Jenga and Connect Four for everyone. Total blast! We will certainly turn to them the next time we have a party!

The food was good and the staff friendly. I ordered the beet salad but added some things I saw from the side salad, as well as fried chicken thigh and they happily accommodated. There was also a boombox thing and video games. I had a pleasant experience!

We stopped here on a Saturday night to get some dinner and drinks. We sat at the table quite awhile and was getting ready to get up to ask for menus when they were finally brought to us and we were greeted. The drinks were average. The wings we ordered as an appetizer were very good. Best thing about the whole dining experience. I didn't too much care for the fish and chips. The slaw that came with it was so bad I spit it out in a napkin. Not impressed with our dinner or drinks.

Sit at the bar! North was our bartender and she was super friendly, we loved talking to her. We’ve been in a ton of times, but can’t sit to go back.

Excellent chef, solidly good food just this side of fancy. Duck-fat-fried chicken that elevates the everyday. Some of the best pub food you'll see. The owners are warm and down to earth and the service was good especially for a slow evening. Check it out

Went out with friends for dinner and drinks. Sat by the window and had speedy service all night. At the end of the night Chef walked out and asked how everything went and explained some of the dishes when asked. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the duck fat fried chicken! There are booths and tables available, accompanied by a full bar with TV’s. Could be a bar crawl spot, pregame, mid day brunch, dinner, etc. Common Pub was perfectly named.

Our food was tasty but the portions were very small considering the prices. My wife's fries were served cold . Services was ok..

Had a beautiful birthday dinner! We love trying out the rotating menu items. Always fresh and delicious and the staff are on top of everything.

Common Pub is dynamite! Certainly not "Common"! I have eaten here 6 times now and the food has been top notch every time. A very cozy yet hip establishment with outstanding food! I will be back perennially!

A chill local spot that is popular with Karaoke. It's nice if you don't want to go to a place that is very crowded. Management is good and servers are nice. It's not a top-notch place and the food is just okay, but it's a chill local spot that's nice if places like Bronx Bar are too much noise and crowd for you.

It was my first time there. Went on a business meeting. Great atmosphere and customer service. All of the food was excellent. Can not wait to go back and try more dishes.

Great relaxed atmosphere. Love the simple decor. The poutine of the day and the duck fat fried chicken were excellent. So were the macaroni potato salad and pickled veggies, but these were just an odd pairing as side dishes to the chicken. Good service. Edited from 4 to 5 because of the option to choose different sides, and all the food was great.

Wonderful food and drinks! The outdoor seating is very vibey, and our waitress was amazing. Will definitely be coming back!

Best burger I've had in a while, and I can't believe the prices. Friendly fast wait staff safe and clean atmosphere.... it was my first visit and it definitely won't be my last..keep up the great job you guys!!!

The food is always good at Common Pub. Service can be up or down, same with cocktails but the food is so on point that we keep coming again and again. Try the duck fat fried chicken, the perfect (smash style) burger, or the fish and chips. Secret winners on the menu: Caesar salad, wings, and onion rings.

I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich with ranch and it was really good! Lemongrass chicken soup was amazing! Duck fries not my favorite. But overall Fresh and tasty! Cute place, nice and low key. Good selection of drinks. Very nice staff
