We utilized Great Lakes Tent Co. to provide a heated tented area for our cocktail hour ahead of our wedding reception in late January in Detroit. Unfortunately, the tent that was provided was mistakenly not fully enclosed, and as such, our guests were cold and had to wear winter coats during the cocktail hour. After spending the amount we did on the tent service, we were quite disappointed that we did not receive what we had paid for. We informed Great Lakes Tent Co. of the mistake/error and they were gracious to offer us a small partial refund due to the mistake, however the refund was miniscule in comparison to the amount we spent on our event when considering the significant mistake that was made.

You think you know about tents and event rentals until you meet Jasmine, Mike and the Great Lakes Tent team. They are so well organized, detail oriented and professional, it made our outdoor wedding planning through COVID so much easier! Special shout out to Eric and the team that worked throuh the rain to set up the tent on week of our wedding.

Pleas note that we previously rescheduled our wedding 3 times because of Covid. Mike and his team at Greak Lakes Tent went above and beyond for us. They were super patient and helpful during the entire process. Highly recommend getting the tent liner if you want your wedding to look more magical.

Delivery was on time and the setup crew helped us make decisions on placement of the tent, the dance floor, and tables. Wedding life saver! We rented our dinner plates, dessert plates, silverware, water goblets, and champagne flutes through this company and it was a great experience. 1. They were able to provide us last minute water goblets and champagne flutes because our caterer was not able to provide them! 2. They gave us extra plates so we could match patterns with every table. 3. They have a big showroom so you can go look at everything set up, not just online or in crates. 4.They had everything waiting for us at pickup, so it was a breeze to get. 5.Drop-off was fantastic, they unloaded our car for us and we went on with our day. 6. THEY HELPED US STAY UNDER BUDGET. Seriously, they were amazing and had so many different options to choose from! I honestly can't thank them enough, especially for being able to provide last minute items. It saved us a bunch of trouble and really took the stress off my fiance (now wife). 10/10 would work with them again. THANK YOU!

We hired Great Lakes Tent Co for a “heated” tent connected to our venue for a cocktail hour, during a January winter wedding. It was an absolute disappointment to see all our guests in winter jackets during the cocktail hour, in an non-enclosed and non-heated tent. Additionally, this tented patio space was supposed to be connected to the venue for constant guest flow back and forth during the entirety of the reception, but our venue had to keep the garage door closed throughout the evening to keep guests warm. This also discouraged guests from using the additional trailer bathrooms outside since it involved opening a garage door. We further learned this posed significant issues for our caterer with the logistics of keeping their prepared food warm for the guests. This company was a complete letdown to us and absolutely did NOT deliver the service that was expected or contracted for. Their response to the issue was that we could have called an emergency hotline and someone would have been there to fix the issue, which was not known by us, the venue or our day of coordinator. Their refund was minuscule compared to the cost of the tent, which served no purpose whatsoever and was a complete waste of money. To contrast, if any one would hire a tent company during the summer and expect it to keep their guests dry or out of the sun, you would expect that as a basic function of the tent. I would highly discourage anyone from using Great Lakes Tent Co and they should be removed from any preferred vendor list in the Metro Detroit area.

Great Lakes Tent Co has always been my “go to” place to rent tents, tables and chairs for any events at my home. They are very professional and extremely helpful with any questions and concerns. The employees who put the tents up and dismantle the tents are pleasant to work with and respectful of my property.

We had a fantastic experience with Great Lakes Tent Co! We rented a 20’ x 30’ and it was perfect for our backyard birthday party. The team set the tent up exactly where I wanted it and were careful around the landscaping. The tent, chairs, and tables all arrived clean! We got lots of compliments on the tent from guests. They were so easy to work with rented me a table for Thanksgiving for a great price. I din have to pickup and drop off but they loaded into my truck. For the price you should expect that, got me in and out the day before I honestly will always use them moving forward. Also the displays they had showing what they could do was great!!! Check them out!!

We rented a 20x 60 tent with side walls and sting lights. We had round tables and chairs for 64 people and a 12x12 dance floor. I like that this company has a warehouse you can go to and check out what they have. The guys at the warehouse were knowledgeable and friendly. The crew who set up everything was great; very friendly and helpful in deciding where things should go. I would use them again if I have a large event.
