The staff at the Royal Oak office is great, very friendly and attentive. I feel like I received very thorough care. And what made the biggest difference for my upper back, shoulder and neck muscle pain was dry needling. After about 8 or so weekly dry needling sessions I felt my muscles finally let go and relax. I've tried many other types of therapy for my muscle and pinched nerve pain, and I feel like dry needling has made the biggest improvement so far. The reason for the 4 star review is simply for their billing practices. When we discussed cost, insurance, copay and billing up front, I feel like I wasn't given a clear picture of what my out of pocket costs would look like. And I didn't receive a bill until after about 2 1/2 months of therapy sessions. If I had received bills sooner, or been charged my copay after every visit, I believe I would have had a much clearer picture of my out of pocket costs. And I would have been able to budget for this accordingly, instead of receiving a large lump sum bill after months of therapy. That being said, with billing being my only issue, the physical therapy services at this office are great and I would recommend them to friends and family.

For the first time in over 8 years of chronic debilitating pain, I have hope. These physical therapists are gifted in their knowledge of healing and are extraordinary at their dry needling abilities. I've done PT at other locations and Back to You offers so much more. I am excited to get my old life back. I'm grateful I found this special group of talented Physical Therapists and their caring staff!

I started seeing John a few years back when i had some nagging issues and a slight meniscus tear. I was blown away by the amount of knowledge he has and his approach to rehab. He also always has a willingness to continue to learn and grow which is huge in any industry, but especially healthcare. I went to Back to You for the first time the other day and the team here is awesome. I saw Brian for my first visit and couldn’t have had a better experience. They take time to explain things and really care for you as a parent. Nothing but a solid experience. Don’t go anywhere else for PT or recovery!!

I cannot express enough how incredible my experience was at “Back to you”! Everyone who I met and interacted with from the lovely and personable reception staff who were so incredibly patient and hospitable to me in addition to my practitioners. Both Joe the PT and Dr John, were extremely friendly and most professional. I was very impressed at how thorough they were in my exam especially in taking note of the various physical activity I’ve been deeply involved in throughout my life. The facility is most impressive and very comfortable. I’d like to thank everyone involved for making my visit such a warm and pleasant experience! I plan to refer my best friends wife to “Back to You” I’m most certain that her experience will be just as lovely as mine! I’d personally like to thank Joe for being so encouraging with the usage of such positive language when I shared that I wasn’t able to do some of my favorite activities. “He said you can’t do them now but, you will be back to it in no time!” Stellar performance from everyone!

This is the place to go if you need any type of PT. I have had to go here twice for therapy and I won’t go anywhere else! I have recommended 3 people here and they have all loved the staff, therapies, and most importantly, the results! Dr. Putnam and his staff are top notch !

The Grosse Pointe Facility of Back to You is by far the best physician therapy I have yet experienced. The staff goes well beyond polite. They are professional “friends”. They have targeted my particular needs and factored in my very senior age. The staff never hesitates to explain and listen. Kudos to all.

I went from thinking I needed to have surgery, to being pain free and able to walk and exercise normally again. Can’t say enough about John and the team there. Caring and professional. I would highly recommend Back to you!

Very happy with my dry needling results. Dr. V knows his stuff and really wants to make people better. His goals are not to make you keep coming back. Thanks for helping me get “back to me!”

My husband has been dealing with a complex cervical injury for many years. Following a surgery in 2021 he had a new insult to his scapula /shoulder region. He has sought treatment through 3 physical therapists since the surgery and tried multiple treatment options including integrative medicine. He had not had any lasting relief. Everyone at Back to You was invested in helping my husband feel better. He actually got some relief with the first visit! Very impressed with the attention to detail in developing a treatment plan to help him get back to living his life.

I had the most incredible experience with physical therapist Dr. Brian and his technician, Abbey. Their expertise and care were truly outstanding. My therapist's needling technique was not only effective but also minimally painful. Abbey's support and professionalism made the session a breeze. I can't recommend this team enough for their exceptional skills and compassionate approach to healing. Thank you for helping me on my journey to recovery!

After dealing with TMJ for decades, Dr. Brian was able to get my jaw back into such good shape that I can now open and move it normally without pain and clicking. He is extremely talented, professional, encouraging and effective. I would recommend him 100% to anyone needing PT, especially for TMJ.

Everyone at Back To You is amazing and the whole staff is very accommodating. Dr. John is so patient and really listens to what your needs/concerns are and develops a plan to actually help you. He is very thorough and helps you get to the root of your issues - not just superficial bandaid fixes with chronic pain especially. Mark consistently brightens my day and is always there to help with exercises, is very good at explaining them, and helps you modify your exercises to what works best for you. Robin is also great, cupping and body tempering have been really beneficial. My favorite thing by far though is dry needling with Dr. John. He is very good at targeting problem areas and getting everything to relax. This is the best I have felt in 10 years and I am getting so much stronger. I never thought it was possible to get better after many rounds of failed PT at other practices. I just assumed I would live with my chronic pain. Dr. John and Back to You have given me hope that I will be able to manage and minimize my pain over time and correct my ongoing issues. (Side note, not related to Dr. Putnam at all, just happen to have the same last name.)

Dr. Brian is a good man and a fine doctor. Personable and enlightening, he has helped me with my chronic pain disease, more so than the medical doctors ever have. Dr. Brian’s dry needling skills are unsurpassed. He is much more effective than the acupuncturists I have seen. Scott Banas.

Dr. Brian is very caring and willing to listen/understand the issues in order to find solutions that alleviate symptoms. He reviewed my MRI report (left ankle), was thorough in muscle/range of motion testing, and the manual therapy he and Robyn applied helped bring my discomfort down. The dry needling was a key player in reducing pain/dysfunction as well. I was slightly sore that evening, and much better so far in the days after. I'm looking forward to my upcoming treatments. Thank you, Back to You staff.

I broke my leg a year ago, I had spent 6 months at another PT place and did not get the results that I was hoping for. Buzz suggested to my husband to come here for therapy. They were great with him. I had a second surgery in late November and came here. Brian, Robin and John were wonderful to work with. Jenna, Mark and Claire are great Tech's. Ron takes care of all the 'paperwork'. This place is like a family, cares about how you're feeling and adjusts the exercises and manipulation to target the right area. Today I graduate and they have helped me to over achieve the range of motion in my ankle and knee. Thank you for all you have done for me and my husband. I hope I learn not to fall and don't have to come back. But if I need therapy again Back to You is where I would go and I would send anyone that needs therapy here.

Dr. Brian and his team (especially Robin, Mark and Michael) have been lifesavers. When I walked in, I was barely able to move my arms without crying. Thru his dedicated attention to detail, hours and hours of hard work, thousands of needles and too many hands-on treatments to count, I have a majority of my range of motion back! We continue to work on my neck, but I have full confidence that Dr. Brian will have me Back To Almost Human again! Very grateful and highly recommend.

I've only completely two of my sessions so far, but after the first I can already lift my arm longer than I could before. A week ago I couldn't bare to lift it lateral for more than a few seconds. John is extremely knowledgeable in what he does. The staff is excellent too! Would highly recommend.

Had a great experience with my evaluation appointment with Dr. Brian Vasicek for an issue with my sciatica nerve. He was able to easily understand what was going on and what I need to do to relieve the pain. I was able to schedule follow up appointments to check my progress and continue therapy. Looking forward to my next session. I feel like for the first time in two months I received some relief.

UPDATE: I have returned to my favorite PT practice and just had a sacral-cranial treatment from Marie. All I can say is WOW! I am well on my way to healing on many levels. Thank you! ORIGINAL VISIT: I am so happy I found Back to You Osteopractic PT. Dr. John and Dr. Brian are highly skilled and compassionate. Everyone here from reception to techs, to student PTs, to the doctors are professional and caring. The dry needling is amazing. I have noticed a significant improvement in back pain and have almost eliminated the headaches stemming from my spine and neck.
