Nice menu. With some decent options. I had the fish and chips option. They offer the grilled version if you ask for it, which is always a plus in my opinion. Meal was cooked well, fish was tasty, chips were well seasoned. I was pleasantly surprised by this, as they were some of best chips I've had in most recent memory like in the past month or so.

Passed by this late afternoon. Very impressed with the interior fine dining design and the beautiful outdoor seating areas. Lots of draft beers to choose from. So enjoyable to relax here. Grabbed a mini of Fremantle famous brewed beer, and a voice in the head kept calling me 'Are you ok? Roger! Roger!'. Haha, surely OK. It's a wonderful eating house too for friends, family and visitors. Clean, neat, class and spacious. The outdoor huge TV screen is always awaiting the sports lovers to cheers! Voila!

We had the Chilli mussels which was absolutely tasteless and cold and just horrible. Also had the pork burger of the month which was honestly the worst burger I have ever had. The place was dead quiet and just had no atmosphere. I will never go back.

Wonderful staff, Soo friendly! Large portions , delicious food . Clean & inviting atmosphere. Decent prices. I had chicken schnitzel as you can it's a huge serving, I couldn't eat it all , I was offered a container to take remaining portion home without asking for it myself . Waitress was on the ball & very attentive to our needs. 5 stars for appeal 5 stars for staff 5 stars for food I recommend trying this place out for your next meal !😊👍

The wife and I decided to give this establishment a try. We arrived and although we didn’t book, we were able to walk in. Once seated we were greeted by a friendly waitress who made us feel welcome. My wife ordered the fish and chips, and I ordered the supreme pizza. My wife said the fish and chips was half decent, not oily and was very fresh and tasteful along with the side of garden salad. The pizza on the other hand was over cooked and hard, after struggling eating a few slices I stopped, the pizza base was burnt, dry and hard, not at all enjoyable. If I was to come back I would not order it again. Our meal came to a total of $75 - about what I would expect to pay for dinner and drinks. Overall not the worst place, but also not on par with other similar establishments I have gone to. The customer service was 5 star, the food is at best a 3 star. Doug D

3.5 stars would be more fitting. Classic pub food offered with some fancier options available (gnocchi, tempura shark bay whiting, smoked lamb shoulder etc). The outdoor area with plenty of shade. Very satisfied with my burger and my friend was very happy with her pizza. I’d definitely return to try some other menu options!

I ordered the prawn pasta and was surprised to only get 3 prawns. Pasta was not constantly cooked and was stuck together. Was left with about half a cup full of olive oil in the bowl. Im currently writing this whilst on the toilet trying to keep it from coming out of both ends. Congratulations you have ruined my Monday evening. Probably won't be back.

We were greeted warmly and our orders taken. We only ordered main meals. They came out looking great. My brisket was on the fatty side but flavour was good. The chips didn’t taste fresh. The peppercorn sauce on the steak was overpowering due to the peppercorns not being crushed. The previous time we went the food was fantastic. Maybe there was a change in chef? Overall the atmosphere was great and the wait staff did a fantastic job!

Great atmosphere in the bar as we passed through, great atmosphere in the dining area - not overly child friendly, but great for a casual date night. The service was so friendly and fun! The cocktail I ordered was very small for the price. Unfortunately our meals were a bit bland (chicken burger) and dry (beef cheeks) however the atmosphere and service leaves me willing to try them again.

Great service. We had dinner for 2 on a weekday. The place was quite crowded. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and brisket. Pizza was good. Brisket is slightly dry but overall still pretty good. Staff was really friendly.

We had lunch at the Gate today with friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were professional and helpful and went over and above basic service. We’ve been many times before and will continue to come back.

This is a great place for food and drinks, good pub food with a good selection including burgers, Lamb Tagliatelle and Prawn Tikka Masala, not the best food, but good for a pub. Very relax atmosphere with great out door seating, it is certainly an excellent place for a after work drink.

Good bar and service. Good selection of drinks and good segregation of sports bar, open bar and restaurant. I've been going here for the last 10 year's and the food is the reason why I'm going 4 star. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's average. I'd go 4.5 if I could.

Chicken burger was goooood! Premises was a bit drab with the green and brown cushions on the walls, looked very 70's, however the service was good and the staff friendly, sometimes this is better than how a place looks overall

Thank you for an excellent night as we celebrated my husband's 50th birthday. The venue was great and John the function manager was friendly, extremely helpful and very efficient. We had a lovely waitress who looked after our group of 24 so well all night. Our guests all commented on the delicious food and the quick service at the bar etc especially as it was a full house. I would not hesitate to recommend The Gate Bar and Bistro for your next function. BRAVO Everyone! Definitely 5 stars!

Amazing customer service, our waitress( Georgia) made the whole experience so enjoyable. The cocktails are very nice. We got the bone marrow and bread which was so buttery and melted in your mouth 100% would recommend to anyone, we also got the chicken wings, they were super crunchy and the sauce they r served with are very unique. The only fault was the pizza which was a bit soggy and undercooked otherwise it was a great night, def want to go again.

Large venue, great atmosphere, loud, and parking access is easy. The food was a range of surprises in generosity and flavour. Surf & Turf I ordered medium-rare, it was on the rarer side but very well grilled. The steak had a flame grill char flavour that I don’t usually enjoy but in this case it was the perfect strength and the flavour made it the hero of the dish. Garlic Prawns & creamy sauce were noticeable only for the lack of flavour, small portioning of prawns and absence of garlic. Chips were well seasoned, light and not crunchy had an excellent texture, intriguing flavour and the only thing on the plate that matched well with the steak. The salad was fresh and almost forgettable but they did very well with the flavour and amount of dressing. Entrees Garlic Bread looked on the smaller size but was great for texture, flavour, garlic strength and turned out to be a just the right amount. Cured Meat Plate was a good selection and was also surprisingly generous with meat portions. Drinks I had a pint of Lemon Lime & Bitters which was well done and I’d go for sparkling water instead of tap/still water next time. Service Service was excellent, we had a small miscommunication when ordering because of impending food envy. Thankfully the Staff were patient, lovely and quick. Atmosphere It was on the louder side, understandably, as The Gate had more customers than I expected. Was actually a very fun and relaxing vibe, there was a few cold drafts but it was crazy rain and wind tonight so it was understandable. Family I think families with younger teenagers and up could do this, any younger and I’d consider Overall The price was on the medium-higher side and the desserts looked amazing. Parking was easy and despite the volume it didn’t feel cramped or overly loud.

The servers are grumpy especially the oldies inside the restaurant. We waited for an hour for our food. Those who ordered after us got their food half an hour. Food is yuckie. Would you eat this pasta? It’s overcooked!

Hi all, The Gate Bar and Bistro…WOW! So I was visiting the family in Perth, my family of 5 plus 3 others, 8 of us in total, went to dinner here. Best ever Chicken Wings I think I’ve ever paid for when I’ve been out & about around different places…cooked to perfection, with a crispy crunchy skin and several delicious sauces to dip the wing into…mmm…it truly was a delicious experience! All our entrees were delicious, but that was the absolute stand out for me. Now the Mains…again OMG, these people are good. They backed up the delicious entrees with equally superb main meals. Fish, Beef, Lamb, Seafood and Pork Ribs, all very very very good… This is now 1 of my “Go to Places” for a small to medium party of people in the future! Settling all this with a couple of bottles of wine and several drinks for less than $350.00, I was really impressed on the value for money and the excellent quality @ “The Gate” Thanks “The GATE”, much appreciated your hospitality & service, see you again really soon!

Good pub with some great craft beers. Good selection of beers, something for everyone. Food is good, but they do need more vegitarian options. Great beer garden and general sitting areas and large dining area. Huge screen in the beer garden and lots of screens in the sports bar with a variety of sports on. Main events are also shown.

the staff were awesome, the girl at the payments section was so patient & sweet, the food was fantastic, and whilst it was REALLY loud, the music outside was great. I did stuggle to get into the carpark google maps lead me to the bottle shop entry, & then I took a few wrong turns trying to get back, & whilst it is nice to have table service, it could be easier on everyone if people pay at the counter when they order.

Hadn’t visited the Gate for quite sometime. Should’ve known something was amiss as the last time I was there (weekday lunch) it was pumping. Alas not this time. I ordered the lamb souvlaki and what a disappointment. Asked TWO of the waitresses to advise the chef. Silly me I actually thought he might come and chat re the meal. NO show. Went to pay the bill and once again asked if she had informed the chef re my meal. Yep. Great response. I paid the full price. Cross at myself for not taking it further. Even angrier once I got home. So I emailed my thoughts re the lack of communication. STILL awaiting a response. I’d appreciate a refund at the very least. Keep well away. There are nicer places on the outside of the centre to spend your $$$

Incredible pub! The food was incredible, drinks were delicious and service from the wait staff was absolutely exceptional! A good 15 minute drive from home, but worth the drive to make this my new local! Thank you for a great experience!

As part of the "older" set, we go to lunch midweek for good conversation because we don't have to tolerate really loud people who compete to be heard over unnecessarily loud music in venues. So we just like to be able to hear ourselves think, because that takes more effort these days. Food options were good for various sizes of meals and the drinks continue to be respectably priced. Food quality was good. Special thanks to the young man who served us for lunch on Thursday. Good service is always appreciated.

Very tasty Malaysian rice with satay chicken, recommend chilli mussels as well, but the highlight was the orange brûlée

First time we've been here, called in on way home. Nice atmosphere, some ordered the Parmy, which was perfect, some of us ordered the garlic chilli prawns which were on the share menu. Very tasty and enjoyable but seriously, the size should have been on a starter menu, not share, my partner and I always share meals as we aren't big eaters, but for $24 this size was very disappointing!

The food and service were brilliant. Not an extensive menu, but delicious and generous servings. The service was friendly and fairly quick. It's on the expensive side, for pub fare, but overall we really enjoyed the night and would highly recommend. The chicken parmi was one of the best we've had. Family-friendly.

A few friends went out on a Sunday afternoon, and unfortunately for me, my steak sandwich was soggy, sinewy and too sweet with the caramelised onions. The drink service was quick and efficient. But the food service was not the best, as another friend waited for about 45 minutes, for a pizza. After asking them twice about it, only to be told they were too busy and were working on it. But I will say they had the atmosphere going for them 😊

So we have been doing Tuesday date night for a while now. Looking for good honest pub service and food. So this was our first visit here. Nice lay out nice vibe. Good set up in the sports bar. So I order our meals. The cheesy garlic bread and Korean chicken and I stated I wanted them as an entree. Our mains were the chicken burger and the chicken parmy but no out they all came together. Admittedly nice and quick service. I said to the girl who brought them out that we wanted our entrees separately..she rudely replies ... We don't do entrees or starter to the sports bar... By this time hubby is heading over angry that once again this simple task of providing an entree or starter as exactly that is impossible to get right I looked at her and wondered if she would go away and think about that idiotic statement. So you can serve me the food you call an entree/ starter but you just can't serve it as what it's advertised as an entree/starter 🤣🤣🤣 Ok dear think you may have got that wrong. However the food was really nice. Small downfall were the chips. Oil may have needed changing but the food overall was good. And the barman who apologised for his mistake for not holding the mains . He acknowledged that I had asked for them to come out as entrees. He managed to turn it all around by being honest about his mistake. Didn't make some ridiculous snide comment. He's a barman to keep.

I had two lovely lunches here with friends. The venue has always been a favourite destination with its spacious dining area and excellent table service. The staff gave us great service throughout our meal to ensure every need was met. It is such a treat to go there. The menu is a wonderful selection of quality fresh foods. The better half and I were here for lunch to celebrate a birthday with friends. With two tables booked inside for 30 people, the staff took our orders and served up very quickly and efficiently. The food/drinks were good, no complaints from anyone. Great work there from chefs to waiters. I live north of the river but have been here quite a few times with family/friends, and like today, I was not disappointed. Thanks again,

Went there for a company function, Fantastic food, great beer, and wonderful service. What more could you want from a bar n bistrol? Fairly priced for its amenities offered, Personally i d prefer to sit outdoor, was getting too much noise even when its less than half full during a friday lunch in the lounge dining area. one of its best kind in the area.

Nice place to listen to live music and watch any sporting events. Food was great, very filling as their portion is huge. Typical pub food with typical pub prices.

Absolutely AMAZING! We came to dine on Saturday night to celebrate my 27th birthday. The food was amazing and our service was incredibly. Carla was our sever, she went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs we met and exceeded. She was so polite and attentive. Highly recommend 🥰

What a wonderful night my family and I had at The Gate Bar and Bistro for the recent comedy night plus dinner. It really went beyond our expectations. The food and service was without fault. (The staff were very efficient while remaining helpful and courteous...very impressive) And the comedy line up was brilliant. Such talented comedians. I'm glad you had a good turnout for this event. Locals need to support such excellent efforts. Keep up the good work :-)

I always find the gate to be very average, i most recently had their chicken dish and the chicken was so dry and hard to eat. When ordering drinks at the bar staff on monday 7/12/20 continually made the drinks wrong. The only thing saving it was the exceptional table service

Have recommended it to people already. Enjoyed the food and service was fast, professional and personal engaging with customers. Been before and will come back again.

The Gate is the perfect place to unwind. Great selection of beers on tap very good food to accompany your drink & if you like your sports then the big screen completes this trifecta. I'm slightly biased because i live within walking distance of the Gate but that aside this is an awesome venue.

Went in for a cheeky lunch with a friend and let them know I was on a time limit due to needing to return to work. They were great and we had service straight away. Salt and pepper squid and chicken satay with a shared side salad. Beautifully prepared, fresh and tasty. I have always had a good lunch here.

Great serving portions. Value for money. Staff were prompt. Polite and friendly. The venue is noisy but that is to be expected as most bars now have large open space layouts. This is better than some as the bistro is off to one side. I do recommend asking for a back wall table though. I definitely would recommend this place and will definitely be returning.

Good atmosphere and venue. Steak sandwich was a killer! The pizza, bottom was burnt and alot of oil but was still enjoyable. Price is reasonable for what you get and a good select of of drinks as well as tap.

My son took me here to celebrate my birthday. Lovely and friendly service. Highly recommended, thank you for going above and beyond. Will definitely coming back.
