I called 7-2 I needed an emergency vet. I started to tell Dorothy I have a 14 year old when she interrupted and said we are not taking new clients. She didn’t let me say I have an emergency or anything. She gave me the name of 5 others in the area who were all closed.I didn’t want to be a regular client I just needed someone to check my dog. It did say Confederate Ridge is an emergency vet. How do you have someone like this represent your business? Truly upset by the way I was treated. The review is based solely on the person who answered the phone.

Dr Newman and the staff here are AMAZING!! They always take great care of our animals, and Dr Newman is absolutely wonderful at communicating AND listening to us! We are so thankful for the vets and staff here, I wouldn’t dream of taking my animals anywhere else!

We started going here when a friend highly recommended them as one of the best in the area. Since we got our Chocolate Lab "KoKo" as a puppy in June of 2011, we need to make sure she got all her required shots and check-ups. We have had no problems with any services and when we need an appointment we get it with out any problems. We have also added another dog a mixed "NaNa" which you can say she is a rescue since it was my wife's mothers dog. Her mother is to old to handle this overly energetic puppy, and she said take her or she will go to the dog pound!! So my wife flew back down to Puerto Rico and in three days got all the paperwork, shots and got her on a separate flight back to Virginia. A couple of days later we took her over to Confederate Ridge Animal Hospital for a check-up to make sure everything is ok. Besides that our dogs have strange behaviors, they both have good health. ***** Updated 220812 Our dogs are still going there and they are open for business, just make an appointment.

Great vet office. All the staff are super friendly and caring. My vet wasn't available and they recommended Confederate Ridge and I am so glad they did. This vet office was phenomenal. Thank you CR staff.

Dr. Newman, the vet techs, and the majority of the staff are truly the best around. Dr Arragon (sp?) gave me some fairly illogical, generic advice that did not apply to the situation at hand. I would strongly recommend Dr. Newman over her. All of the receptionists are also wonderful, helpful people....aside from Dorothy. She is incredibly rude. During Covid laws when I was not allowed to enter the building, she walked up to my car with my GSD inside, banged on the window, and rudely accused me of not paying for a $35 Proviable kit that I had given my card information to pay for months prior. They never ran my card. My dog was barking and upset. What sort of person who works with animals would aggressively walk up to a car with a GSD inside, bang on the window, and then accuse a client who pays every bill up front of skipping out on a tiny bill? I was shocked. Huge strike one for Dorothy. I do not respond well to anyone aggressively walking up to my vehicle, nor should anyone. An account manager called me after I complained about her and waived the charge that I tried to pay them for months prior. That was very kind of them and a good way to handle things. Strike two for Dorothy came today. I called in asking for a vet/tech to call me back because my GSD has some type of respiratory thing going on. I was trying to see if we could do a virtual visit due to my work schedule/the difficulty of getting my dog in by myself. She was just at the practice a few months ago for her routine shots and a wellness check. Dorothy takes down my number and says that someone will be giving me a call. A few hours pass. I know that is not the norm for this medical staff (again, they're great), so I called back. Dorothy answers again... I explain that I'm checking back in because I haven't heard from anyone yet. She snapped that a tech had already called me and left me a DETAILED message about what they were willing to do.. Ok... I check my messages with her on the line and I have nothing new. I explain this and then I ask if I could check the.... she interrupts me and literally says "MAYBE you should HANG UP and check your messages"... I kept talking and said... check the number you gave the tech... Lo and behold, despite the fact that my number was on file and that I verbally gave her the number over the phone, she had given them the wrong number. No big deal. Things happen. I wouldn't have cared aside from the fact that she was, once again, outrageously rude on top of being incorrect. I also wouldn't care about this at all aside from the fact that Dr Newman is probably the best vet in the area. She has always worked with me, treated my dogs like they were her own, and given me great advice. I will continue to see her despite the nasty receptionist who probably shouldn't be working with the public.

I have tried several clinics in the surrounding area, and Confederate Ridge is the best. They take Care Credit. And give seniors a discount

After 20 years as their customer and our 3 dogs vet. We were 10 minutes late to an appointment due to traffic. They refused to see us or try to fit us in their schedule. We found a vet closer to home.

Excellent care of my furry family member, Tommy. A courteous staff is a plus after a long business day. I arrived 20 minutes early and the staff saw my Tommy earlier than scheduled. Thank you, Team CRAH!

Everyone on the staff at CRAH shows their hearts for helping animals. From the moment we are checked in, our experience with each person was professional, courteous, and most importantly caring. This is not a "revolving door" practice. We recently had to say goodbye to our 16 year old, and we received a beautiful sympathy card from the staff, including a short personal message from each person. That was so comforting to us in our grief. Thank you to Dr. Newman and the staff for being such compassionate professionals. Bonnie Baker , Ella, and Abby

The entire staff at confederate ridge were so amazing. I took in my boy Gunner today and he was such a handful. He has an extreme fear of the vet, but the entire staff were so understanding even when he snapped out of fear. Im so thankful they aren't the types to just man handle your pet to get the job done. I can't speak more highly about Dr. Aragon. She was so patient and kind, there's not doubt she loves her patients. We will definitely be back for all our vet care needs!

Warm smiles and wagging tails! I thought my pup would be terrified but due to the awesomeness of the staff he felt like a big boy.

I have been going to Confederate Ridge for years with my pets. The last 3 visits in 3 days have been extra helpful. Both of my cats got attacked by something, one had to be hospitalize over night the other went home the same day. They fit us in their schedule, cleaned up the carrier when the 13 year old messed in it, helped with getting my pets inside and out when I had hands full with a 10 month old. Thank you so much for your help and caring employees.

I've been taking my pets here for years. We typically see Dr. Newman and she and the entire staff at Confederate Ridge are always very friendly and kind. I've also found their prices to be reasonable and the fact they recently added urgent care hours is another bonus.

I love this vet. Years ago late at night our dog had a medical emergency and even though they weren't her vet they saw her. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done, but the were so kind and compassionate. They are now my grand dog's vets and they are still very kind and compassionate and their prices are reasonable.

I have been using them for over twenty years. They know me by my maiden name, Heidel. They've helped me through several illnesses with my critters. Everyone there is very nice and you can tell they enjoy their work.

My puppy was born here so I decided to continue with them. The team is awesome and treats my fur-son like family.

I went into this animal hospital, on the 1st day of their urgent care. I had to put my pooch down. Totally broke my heart that it was his Time. All the staff had set up a thick, & cozy blanket for him to spend the last of his waking time together on. Once they place the catheter upon hisleg, they gave a 5 or 6 ft lead, to be off to the side, annnnnd it to be just him, & i. They gave me door bell to ring, when i was ready to go. Told me absolutely NO rush, i could have all the time i need, and/or wanted. This place ultimately made this tragically tough moment, as special for my pooch, and myself, as they possibly could. Situations like this can go wrong, so easily, but at Confederate Ridge, they topped the cake, with honor. Ohhhh, 'n' how thankful i am, that i went tothis animal hospital, over any others! I really do not feel, you can buy that kind-of service, annnnnd yet, we got it. Not to mention, a brand new box of tissues, too!!!

We have been taking our furry family members to Confederate Ridge for years. We have always been extremely satisfied with the care that they receive. The staff and vets are amazing and go above and beyond to care not only for their patients, but also for their patients "parents." I love that they call to check on their patients after a visit to make sure everything is going well. Confederate Ridge is truly top notch.
