Stumbled upon this little place - Owner is so witty, welcoming and magical. She made the experience for us. Cake is definitely not sugar free, gluten free hahahaha its simply the best. Enjoy checking out the art down this magical ally and stop at the coffee shop for some chats and a really awesome experience. We walked by this lovely little place and stopped for an espresso and were genuinely surprised by the outstanding hospitality of the owner. Such a positive and friendly Person and the cake and espresso was a delight as well. Highly recommended and we will stop by as often as we can!

I stopped by The Handmill Coffee Shop for a refreshing cup of tea after a long morning of promenading around town. It was very lovely, intimate and warm. The owner was welcoming and friendly. The coffee shop itself was very pretty a d it was filled with beautiful art works. I wanted to tip for my tea because I really enjoyed being there but the owner declined. It’s a great spot, I highly recommend paying them a visit — go a bit earlier so to grab croissants and other lovely baked goodies

Super nice experience. The coffee is great, the fresh cakes are delicious. We also got a lot of travel tips from the owner, a very kind lady from Joburg. It's a bit far from home, but I'd like to say I'd love to come back :)

What a wonderful experience, Cindy made the best Red Latte (with some very specific requirements) that I’ve had in a very long time. This is absolutely my kind of place to sit and enjoy my tea while the wife is out shopping. Thanks Cindy for your hospitality and care, I really appreciate it.

Lovely and welcoming, despite clearly closing up. We had a wonderful coffee and chat with the owner. Would definitely recommend if you need a spot for a brief respite, delicious cake and revitalising caffeine!

If I lived in Hermanus you would find me at The Handmill Coffee Shop everyday. Not only is the coffee delicious as are the cakes (best carrot cake I have ever had), but it is Cindy and Este who make this place so special. I felt as if I were part of the family, talking, laughing and admiring Este's beautiful paintings. As I said, I would lovingly visit there everyday.

On our visit in Hermanus we found a really nice art street and this very cute and beautiful little coffee shop just at the corner. The owner was so nice and welcoming and the coffee and cake tasted amazing. I would definitely come back to drink a good coffee and chat with the friendly owner.

Awesome cozy coffee shop tucked in a divine art gallery set in a trendy little Hermanus lane. Wonderful coffee and scrumptious cake all served with gusto by the friendly barista. Definitely a go to spot when browsing the art galleries. So special to drink coffee, eat cake surrounded by beautiful pieces of art!!!
