Stopped for a quick beer tasting and a wine and cheese pairing. Beside the wind threatening to blow over empty wine glasses was a good stop. Wonderful views, child friendly and a great outside area.

What a beautiful building with the unique thing of offering both wine and beer tasting. Really had a great time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone. We did not eat but the service was good and the atmosphere fantastic. I tried the beers and loved some and liked others, but in all it was excellent. We also loved the little shop at the entrance that sold the most interesting wares, as well as beers wines and a vast array of great cheeses. We will be back

Wonderful lunch menu, excellent service. Definitely a place to visit for great food and beautiful venue. Spacious, modern and perfect for the whole family and big tour groups. Also lovely and romantic for couples wanting to celebrate. Great menu with good vegetarian options too. Try the beer tasting and wine tasting as well if you have the time.

This is a wonderful restaurant situated on a beautiful farm. The food is lovely and would highly recommend the chicken/bacon cheese bites as a starter! Their beer is top notch and one can buy divine cheese at the little shop on premises as well.

The best place to go grab a foodie's dream lunch and a oenophile will just keel over with glee! The Red Chardonnay is really special! Big words assise it's damn good!

Just came in for a beer tasting and some drinks, very nice place and the food looked good. Small kids play area but lots of space to run around. Will try the food the next time we around.

If you are ever in the Stanford area, actually make a plan and get there, you must visit the Birkenhead Brewery. We went there for a quick beer tasting, there is so much more you can do here. They have an excellent menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is delicious and so are their beer. If you buy 16 bottles of beer (4 X 4packs), then the beer tasting is for free. Loved the place and will definitely be back soon.

This spot had absolutely fantastic potential, however service was incredibly slow. Possibly understaffed. Unfortunately service is what can break a place. The food was tasty however our waiter missed an order so one of our family members had to share our food.

Had a lovely wine tasting with a very good cheese platter. Wine and cheese were excellent, and the beer was good too. This is a lovely place with a beautiful view of the mountains.

Nice from far, but far from nice. Such potential, but there are weeds growing in the bricks and dead plants in planters. Waitress response to how much beer is, "I don't know, I just started working here"

In busy Stanford during this Christmas season we decided to try Birkenhead for lunch. What a good decision! I had the steak tagliata served with basil pesto, lots of rocket and roasted baby tomatoes. Absolutely delicious. My wife had panko prawn Bao buns, also very tasty. What a surprise to find such good food in a brewery! The service was excellent despite their being full

Definitely one of my all time favourite breweries in SA. The venue is gorgeous and the views are magnificent! The staff is friendly and attentive and the beer of course is delightful. My favourite is the Honey Blonde, which is a full and rich, sweet tasting beer with hints of honey and a beautiful golden colour too. A bit pricy compared to some breweries, but overall worth it, because it has a very authentic product and limited stock of each batch. Don't miss this stop on your way to Standford and surrounds! The venue is child, pet and disabled friendly.

Birkenhead Brewery was okay, but I won't be back for the beer. Overall the location is great, the staff was friendly and the outdoor space had a wonderful view but the beer wasn't for me. I tried The Blond, The Pilsner, The Lager and The American Pale Ale... none of them made me want to buy more. Perhaps I'll give them another try, but I wouldn't go out of my way for their beer.

Excellent brewery. The beers are very good. Especially the Honey Lager and the Stout (personal opinion). The surroundings are beautiful. Very small kids play area but lots of open space. Do keep an eye on them though, a river runs through very close to the property. Dogs on leashes are allowed. Inside sitting is cosy and comfortable. Outside is lovely on a sunny day. The beer bottles are quite expensive though.

Peaceful place went there during the week and had their beer tasting. Their burger was also very tasty 😋

We loved the cheese and wine pairing. Would recommend doing this first before purchasing some cheeses from the store to take home. We also purchased some craft beer to take home which was great. Outside area is dog friendly and the team was very accommodating.

Beer tasting was lovely. Flatbread was tasty but had a slight taste of fish. Stunning location and friendly staff.

We visited on a cold, dry and bright winter Saturday. It was our first visit and enjoyed having the Klein River cheese shop as well as the Walker Bay wines to taste and buy. The food was really good and the service was a bit stilted but no complaints. The highlight was sitting in the garden, in the sunshine and enjoying the view. A relaxing and convivial experience, we will definitely go back.

One of the nicest wine farm \ breweries I have been to so far. The staff is wonderful and accommodating. The venue is large, with tons of space between you and the next table. They are very child friendly, and have a large outside section you can picnic at as well. Parking is a bit tight. But you can just drive over the grass if you are stuck.

10/10 would recommend! The staff are friendly and the food and drinks are great. Perfect spot for lunch with family or friends on the weekend!

Enjoyed the experience. The cheese platter was worth it and I enjoyed the beer tasting. For something and somewhere different, will recommend it. Prices are reasonable. Only suggestion, the outside benches need to be moved more often and given a little TLC.

Wonderful setting with spectacular views. Food is fantastic. We also did a Wine and Cheese pairing which was excellent and all the products available in house. Same with the Beer tasting. Highly recommended 👌

We moved to Stanford over a year ago and have come to this incredible establishment regularly. Angela and her team are phenomenal and goes above and beyond always!! The food are incredible and never disappointed. Highly recommend and will always support Birkenhead.

We were so impressed with the food! Best gnocchi we have ever tried, really yummy starters of lamb croquettes and spanakopitas. The staff were friendly and attentive. We also enjoyed a wine tasting with paired cheeses. Note that this is not guided by staff but the place settings have the tasting info for you to peruse at leisure. Excellent indoor and outdoor seating with lovely views.

👍👍 Probably the best waiter we have ever had the honor of serving us. Local English chap that knows his food and area very well. Their food is a little on the budget side and may come across as too little or dry (rice), but the preparation of the fish and squid was flawless! Grilled to absolute perfect...
