We booked a table in the shade for lunch. It was lovely. The dogs were welcomed and given water bowls. All the food was very tasty. The restaurant was very busy so food took slightly longer than usual but with such a lovely atmosphere and view it’s not a problem.

What can be more relaxing than having your feet firmly planted in soft beach sand, looking over the ocean while drinking beers and cocktails?! NOTHING! It’s so nice to have people coming in with their dogs and joining for a drink.

We had a nice lunch here. They have nice things for lunch. The food is very tasty and the portions are big. The sushi is a must as is the club sandwich. You can order typical Dutch dishes such as croquettes and bitterballen. These were also very tasty. You look out over the sea and when it is cold outside. Can you sit behind a windshield? The staff are nice. This was the perfect place for us to have lunch after the coastal walk. The prices are not very low, but its worth it.

This was our first stop on a Saturday wine tasting in Stanford. Only a 15 min drive followed by a stunning beach walk in front of Dutchies with our dog. Sat down for a delicious coffee and stroopwafel. The outside area is very dog friendly but it was early and cold so they allowed us to sit inside and gave him a treat, too.

Beautiful views. Island feels. Beach House Music. Definitely worth a visit each time you in Hermanus. Ice cold drinks: cocktails and local brewed beer. Decent kitchen with variety of options. Seafood is the specialty. Staff members are full of smiles, ensuring you feel spoiled. #fun#summer#vibes.

Food is stupendous and fab location. Had two starters, amazing.

Upon arrival at the Dutchies a private function was pre-arranged. However the staff and management still seated my wife and I irrespectively, The food(Hake nd Chips wth a side salad) was the best I have ever tasted by far. What an amazing experience....Thanks Dutchies for an awesome meal😘😘

'would you like you fish grilled or fried?', I respond 'if I choose fried, is it battered', 'yes it is'. So... I went for the fried fish. It was breaded, not battered. This is not a problem really, but I sent it back and chose to just snack of my wife and kids plates as it would have been too long to wait for something else. But, the waitresses attitude! She clearly didn't know the difference between breaded and battered, which is clearly also not a train smash, but to be so snarly at a customer when they send something back that was not what they asked for, that was unacceptable. Everything fried is breaded, it seems. My wife's sushi, which Is have expected a tempura (or other battered) prawn on, also came with a breaded prawn. It really isn't the same, and it really isn't as good! If you can imagine a restaurant with mostly fried, breaded fish, then you can imagine the quality here. Nothing awful, but very ordinary. The location is, however, magnificent!

Dutchies restaurant is a well known place to have a great time with friends and family in Hermanus. Their food is always of great quality and you feel like you are on vacation having the lovely Voëlklip beach right next to you. We sat outside on the beach sand during December holidays which makes you feel like you are on holiday even more.

The grilled fish was pretty good, fries not so much. The sweet potato, was actually a salad with only a few potato pieces and mediocre dressing at best. But the service was full on terrible. We were seated and left there for good. Had to walk inside to order and get the bill, because no one bothered to come check on us.

The food was good but some dishes were under seasoned. The service was good generally, but we were neglected at times. Desserts were excellent and the coffee was very good. I have to add, one of our mains was not what we ordered either.

Best cocktails in town, amazing views. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Good food and drinks.

This restaurant is next to Grotto Beach. The menu has a wide range of things to choose from from omelettes, to sushi. On the sushi, I am also impressed by how fresh and delicious it is although, for some reason, it takes significantly longer to prepare than other menu items. The service is very friendly.

Great seaside spot. Perfect for a casual drink but definitely also for a lunch or snack! Very welcoming staff, a lot of seating, good menu. Food looks big, is big and decent quality. I was very impressed by the bitterballen, as I’m familiar with them. Well done. The salads were very ok, I just liked the spot in general.

A charming restaurant located close to the beach with a public road in front of it..not the safest if you have little kids. a lovely ambiance. Needs a little tlc

If you like sushi and cocktails, then this is the place. I think the beach section of dutchies is geared more for the drinkers but saying that we thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails and crunchy sushi. Our waitress was fantastic and made sure we were well looked after.

Good food, large well presented portions, lovely location, some whale watching while dining alfresco. Close to the beach kids can run and play at their leisure, lovely host and gracious service.

Looked at the menu and absolutely nothing appealed to is, so we decided to share a couple of starters and some calamari. Bitter Allen and goats cheese wrapped in ham with some fried calamari. Food was nice except the crumbed calamari had the same crumbs as bitterballen so it was a bit overkill on the crumbs, but can't blame the restaurant for that. We chose it. I think I'd be happier with a bagel or breakfast than their main offerings. Still a great location and full of expats and tourists. Guess that also explains the wine prices. A tad overpriced on that one I think.

After arriving at the restaurant fairly Late we were Greeted by Jaques the manager who was more than happy to serve us at that late hour. Tsepo was exceptional as a Waitron but the food was out of this world even though the kitchen was nearly closed. We had Calamari, sushi and the most succulent pork belly and prawn skewer. All round great experience a hidden gem I will definitely return to.

My cousin (first time seeing each other in 20 years) and I had an awesome time at Dutchies on the beach! The Sushi was outstanding and the staff were friendly and made us feel as if everyone is a VIP.

Nice location by the beach, but i had the smoke of people at the next table. Not enjoyable when you're eating outside. Anyway food was OK, 2 ordered beef fillet were overcooked when we asked for medium rare. We found sushis OK. It was an OK experience.

My new favourite restaurant EVER!!! Best service from the nicest waiter, Kenneth. Awesome food, fresh and perfectly presented. Will definately come again. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

Had a delicious dinner at Dutchies. We had a few starters… tapas style. And shared the mushroom risotto. The bitterballen were out of this world. Out attentive waitress was Zanele and she was wonderful. Jacques was the manager and was also great. Cosy atmosphere next to the fireplace on chilly evening. Definitely worth a visit. And on a sunny day, it’s seafood on the deck 👍
