Excellent eating experience. From walking in the door and being greeted by employee, who showed us around the restaurant and spoke about the preparation of the diffrent types of aging meat cuts. The macaroni and cheese is a must! Meal was excellent and tasted delicious. Server was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

One of the best in Hermanus! The best meat, by far. Great cocktails, some really creative house cocktails and a massive selection of local wines. We did not book (our bad, make sure to book ahead). We we're welcomed by the waiter and sat at the bar area to wait for a table to open. We enjoyed the bar spot and didn't want to wait 45min for a table, so are small plates at the bar. Corn Ribs: 10/10 - juicy corn basted in a sweet and smokey sticky BBQ marinade. Great snack Pork Ribs: 8/10 - Tender and fall of the bone ribs, slight smokey flavour and juicy. Could be slightly more caramelized, but loved every bite Onion rings: 8/10 - Crispy exterior and smooth melting onion on the inside. I would have loved an interesting dipping sauce with this. Mac & Cheese Balls: 8.5/10 - served with a subtle and really well balanced marinara sauce. Subtle and balanced flavours in the balls, would have loved some more cheese in there. Chicken Wings: 8.5/10 - Basted in a similar if not the same sauce as the corn Ribs and pork ribs. Delicious and well cooked. Great bar snack with a beer Overall we had a great experience, our barman was the highlight of the evening. He explained some of his favourites (something I always ask) and every suggestions was bang on. He communicated well, looked after us and made the evening more memorable. Steak was 100% perfect. Dessert and brisket was nearly perfect in my opinion. These two dishes need something refreshing on the site because it was delicious rich. But the steak was on point

Their steaks are amazing… we had wet-aged. And the salad as a side is superb!! On another occasion we had their burgers with loaded chips. This is something quite phenomenal! The decor is themed to a fire station and creates a charming ambiance. Waiters are well trained and helpful.

If you’re into meat, this is the spot for you! Excellent display and knowledge on all cuts of meat with a great selection to choose from. Unique ‘comfort food’ style menu if steak isn’t your only thing, there are other options to choose from that are equally as good - but really, it’s the meat you go for! We went on a Monday for the burgers and beers special, what an absolutely fantastic evening! There was live music which really set the tone. The burgers were absolutely to die for, close to the best I have had yet! I absolutely recommend based on just the burgers.

I had high expectations based on the reviews I read and boy was I not disappointed. We had some starters, the Mac and Cheese balls and some chicken wings. Honestly the best chicken wings I gave ever had. Then for mains we opted for the wet aged sirloin. I had Mac and cheese as a side and my wife had the cauliflower. I also added some onion rings. The steak was perfectly cooked to our specifications. But the cherry on top were those amazing sides. They also have a nice selection of local wines, brandies and gins. The service was amazing, staff are so knowledgeable and on the ball.

The expectation was very high as the Restaurant looks really nice and all the dry aged beef was hanging around. But then the quality was not that good nor have we been asked how we want to have our steaks. The red wine they recommended was great.

An interesting steak house in Hermanus. I thought the service here was very good. Our waiter, Dylan was super attentive and very helpful. All the sides were very good and the strawberry desert was excellent. The restaurant itself is great with some aging meat being the center focus of the venue. With all this focus on meat one would assume the steaks would be excellent, but most of our steaks were underdone and came out of the kitchen at different times making for a situation where people that got their steak first would have cold meat by the time all the food had arrived. All in all it is a nice place but the main reason for going here is the meat and it was not the best experience one could have.

Quality is superb, service excellent. Perfect ratio price and quality. Absolutely recommendable. It is even has options for vegetarians. Melana and Simi are great professionals and fun! Try to get attended by them 😃😃

Great place for a burger or steak. They currently have a great R105 burger and beer special. Well worth a visit .... good food, well priced and friendly staff ...

Possibly one of the coolest bars/steakhouse I've ever been in, with a unique smelling station for gins, rum and others it really has many talking points and the food is great

Fantastic meat. You should try the meat platter. Just delicious. We waited for a table at the bar and did a fin and rum tasting. Just great. Calamari we had for starter which were very good as well

Although we learned it is best to call ahead and book, the experience of being there is extraordinary for me, never mind the amazing cuts of meat and the great service and friendly staff that are always waiting and ready to serve you or help with anything you may need. I highly recommend going there and definitely coming back😁

We had an absolutely delightful experience celebrating Father's Day at this wonderful steakhouse. We both decided to go for the Fillet (wet) medium, with basting, butterfly cut, accompanied by the mouthwatering mushroom sauce & smoked olive oil, very flavourful sauce. The chef truly deserves compliments as the steak was prepared to absolute perfection - tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. As for the sides, I opted for the garlic bread with onions, which added a delightful touch to the meal. While my partner enjoyed the fries with pulled pork on chips, which wasn't exactly to my taste, it still made for a satisfying combination. I also explored their impressive wine selection and were delighted with the Oak Valley, Sauvignon Blanc, I chose. It perfectly complemented my meal and added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. The restaurant boasts a lovely list of wines overall. Albeit on the pricey side, however, the experience and quality of the food made it well worth it, especially for such a special occasion like Father's Day. We highly recommend this steakhouse for anyone looking to celebrate and indulge in a truly memorable dining experience. Kudos to the chef and the entire staff for creating such a remarkable evening for us. We'll definitely be returning in the future!

We had a wonderful meal here! I ate the best steak of my life here. The sauces were also very tasty. Even the fries were seasoned very nicely. The dry aged was also tasty but the fillet was no better. This one was more tender. For dessert I would recommend the chocolate brownie. I ate the first good cheesecake in Africa here. Inside you are warm and sociable. There are hinged trays to put your phone in to prevent everyone from looking at their phone. The staff is enthusiastic and patient. They show the meat choices at the table.

Andisiwe our waitress was informative, well spoken and very efficient. Food was excellent. Both the dry and wet aged meat we ordered were perfectly prepared and the Snail and Marrow bone starter was a winner. For certain the best dinner we had in Hermanus.

Absolutely the best burgers I have had anywhere in the world … Besides the burgers … loaded Brisket Mac & Cheese fries … there are no words We were treated like royalty by our amazing waitron Andiswe.. she was an absolute gem. I have been dying to try Chard’ since I first saw it open and let me tell you … I was blown away by every aspect of our whole experience. Being an avid foodie who eats out a lot I can honestly say this is my favorite spot and I will ensure I come down from Melkbosstrand to visit as often as possible. Love the passion and flavour explosions … more than satisfied … you cannot be disappointed Best burger there is .. Fondue Burger Thankful I could experience this amazing evening and leaving with the best memories … Will be back … for sure

Best beef fillet and the sides were amazing. The carrot roasted, fried, puree & pickled. A very well thought through side. The white chocolate tonka bean cheese cake should be their signature desert. It was special and amazingly good. Kaylin provided excellent service.

Outstanding. Loved the steam punk decor. Our waiter was great. He took the time to explain the dry and wet aging process and walked us though his favourites on the menu. We loved the bacon maple popcorn Milkshake. We also had the meat appriacation platter and a Skud jou brisket burger - would highly recommend!
