Make sure you reserve before going. I did not but they were very nice and made some space for me. The service was warm and welcoming. The food was phenomenal. I had the Thai fish cakes as a starter and it is crunchy and gooey and just wonderful. The chicken main dish was creamy and crunchy and a song on the tongue. Add that to the view, and this is a 'must go to' place in Hermanus.

I have noticed Pentola for the past few years but had never been. I was looking for a special venue for our anniversary and La Pentola came up. I booked online and was very pleased that it worked. We were warmly welcomed and our table was ready. Nicole was an exceptional waitress. Her knowledge, humour and attention to detail was outstanding. We had a mixture of specials and menu items. Snails wrapped in bacon as well as lambs kidneys in a delicious sauce and phyllo pastry to begin. We both had rump steak with a fabulous sauce. They were cooked to perfection, to our different preferences. The steaks were succulent, flavoursome and tender. My plate was clean at the end. Desserts of halva pancake and salted caramel fondant finished a magical experience. It was not cheap but, the quality of the food and service made it worth every cent.

I enjoyed my lunch. Having arrived quite late after lunch we were grateful to find somewhere out of the wind. Our waitress was attentive and the food arrived quickly. I enjoyed the fish of the day which was cob with no bones. A simple meal, tasty and the portion size suited where we were in the afternoon. View out of the windows is beautiful. Pity we missed the show the whales put on a few days previously.

Absolutely loved this place. Had my first ever Dom Pedro, and been trying to find one as good ever since. It's a must when on Hermanus

A truly pleasant surprise. We stumbled upon this place but had such a lovely time. The service was so good the team were very friendly and moved us to a better table when an opening became available. We are both vegetarians and always struggle to find good food but this place really blew it out the water with creative dishes we'd never tried before. I'm sure their non-veggie dishes would delight meat eaters too. Recommend getting a few starters and share instead of a main to really experience what these guys can do.

Such a great find... What more could we ask for? ticked all the boxes, great view, amazing service, delicious food (they even had a delightful gluten free dessert to top my meal off - chocolate fondant) Service from Falcon was on point, some of the best in cape Town. Over all 10 out of 10 for me.

I cannot recommend the seafood pasta, lacking in sauce, barely done pasta and a few clam and prawn shells did nothing for the dish which I had to eat with my hands. The manager did nothing , but shrug when he asked me how the dish was and I gave my thumbs down. My partner loved her food though and the views were great, the waiters were friendly hence the 3/5 rating.

Wow!!!! No better word to describe the experience than wow! The staff are amazing, the food incredible, the view absolutely stunning. Definitely one of my top 5 restaurants. Cannot wait for my next visit.

Great place to eat at. The food was delicious. I had the honey mustard pork with carrots, green beans, croquettes (deep fried mash balls), and a super tasty caramelized apple. The flavors blended so well together and overall a great and tasteful experience. Staff are really polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the restaurant and it's food and with so much to choose from they managed to give us some really good advice on what they think we would like and it all checked out great. Portions are really great. And the views are totally out of this world. If you are looking for a place with tasty dining, please check it out. Also, it is best to call in and make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

A very long and delicious lunch watching whales jumping from the window. The food was amazing and the service made us feel we were being hosted by friends. A memorable afternoon.

When you enter the restaurant it has this old school eclectic feel. It doesn't look "fancy" but the food and service are amazing. I had the seafood pasta and my wife had the Cape Salmon which was on the specials board. The freshly baked bread rolls were to die for. The lady who served us was outstanding.

Great experience, my partner tried the fish with lemon and it was excellent, I tried the Santorini Chicken and it was amazing! Staff was friendly and the view gorgeous!

We went for drinks and appetizers The dessert drinks are amazing!! I had the Irish Biscuit and it was divine, satisfying my sweet tooth. It can get a bit pricy, but it's definitely worth a visit especially with their beautiful view!!

We had a tapas starter as we were a big group which i wasn't looking forward to but it was delicious. Steak for main was cooked to perfection. Couldn't manage a sweet but they looked divine. The staff were amazing too. Was a lovely night from start to finish, highly recommend

Loved this little gem we discovered. The food were very good our waiter were absolutely wonderful....the tables next to the windows are amazing....you might spot a whale while eating...will definitely be back

Exceptional view, we were able to watch some whales from our table 🐳 The food was good, very tasty and well presented. We did appreciate the interesting flavors but sadly I think it was sightly overpriced for what seemed to be basic ingredients.

It was absolutely stunning... My friend and I enjoyed every moment .the food was great,very tasty ..our waiter was superb..he explained the menu to the last detail..will definitely come back again.

Good service. Food is good and menu selection includes classic dishes with an Italian inspiration. Fish and seafood is high on the menu. More of a cuisine experience and not a pasta/pizza place.
