Having lived in Italy for sixteen years, I thought I had experienced Italian pizza. I have eaten at Embers for the fourth time in ten days and am still overthrown by the quality and taste. The superb front of house and the culinary skills of Thinus and Gideon make this little restaurant a genuinely delightful gem in the heart of Hermanus.

Personally I believe the best pizzas in town. Small and intimate venue and all pizzas freshly made in food fired pizza oven. Great gluten-free bases and vegetarian options.

Embers always has amazing service and their pizza is the best in Hermanus. The atmosphere is always good and I would advise you book a table in advance because they are popular and seating is generally full. They do take aways as well.

Exceptional pizzas, lovely service, good value. Some very nice wines. Highly recommend. A misunderstanding with dessert - we asked for ice cream instead of cream on brownie and were charged extra for the scoop, dessert wasn't special and ended up quite expensive. Otherwise can't fault it thank you.

Best place to get pizza in Hermanus, very small so booking in advance is advised, the pizza bases are thin and crispy and they have the best variety of toppings

The pizza is always delicious. The service is always great. Only thing that I can add is that the music needs to be a bit louder to create a less awkward atmosphere.

The Pizza was so good I would have ordered a second one if my stomach would have allowed me to do so.

Fabio's around the corner didn't have agreat atmosphere and we decided to go Embers. Its on the 1st floor and only has about 15 tables. The service was great and drinks affordably priced. The pizza was incredible, some of the best Ive had. Thin base with crispy crust. ample toppings and good quality cheese used. I would high recommend this for lunch and dinner. The outside balcony can probably get quite unpleasant if its windy so consider this.

Really classy little joint with a lovely balcony to enjoy the Hermanus breeze on. Their pizza was lovely with great toppings and their pasta looked very good. The waitstaff were friendly, warm, and helpful. The décor was also lovely (even in the bathrooms). Overall, a great dining experience! Would definitely recommend.

So for starts its the best best pizza I have had in a long time. they do not go shy on toppings and the service is quick. overall I would defiantly give them a try if you have not

Called for lunchtime drinks and served by Wayne who was both very friendly and helpful. As a result we returned for evening meal and delighted we were again served by Wayne. Both the pizza and lasagne we had were excellent. Good atmosphere. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic find, so glad we decided to eat here on our last night in Hermanus. Food was excellent, 'normal' and gluten-free pizzas were very tasty, pasta was a healthy serving and also delicious. Nice Belgian beers on offer.

The only place to get pizza in Hermanus. Whenever I am in Hermanus, my partner and I always go to Embers - or order a take away! They have a cosy dining area, and a great balcony - especially nice during longer summer evenings!

Great place for Pizzas and Pastas. Lovely to sit outside on the Veranda-area. Would just suggest to have some thin blankets for cold evenings, as there is not much indoor space.

Finally found the BEST pizza in Hermanus. Proper authentic wood oven pizza 🍕 with the most perfect thin base and top quality ingredients! Added bonus - perfect pizzas during loadshedding, as wood fire ovens aren't dependent on electricity 👍🏻

Lovely and cozy place to have pizza and pasta. The staff are friendly and the pizza is to die for; great dough and crust, right toppings, full of flavors. Could say it is the best pizza place in town. I will definitely eat here again if I'm in the area. Well done guys.

This pizza was as good as anything I had in Italy and the service was massively better. Very reasonable for the area and hands down the best pizza we had in three months traveling SA. Try the beer too!

I went to Embers with my family, unsure of what to expect. It had a cosy, homely atmosphere with soft music in the background that didn't disrupt conversation. We waited a little longer than I expected for service, but when our pizzas arrived it was worthwhile. They were thin and crispy, and the variety was stunning: from old favourites like ham and pineapple, to fresh, exciting new inventions. I would recommend Embers to anyone.

I ordered a pasta that was absolutely awful. The sauce was Gluey and congealed. The worst part however, was the awful and disrespectful response of the owner when we complained. He was rude and told us he was a chef and that ‘creamy pasta’ doesn’t require cream at all. So sad as we are locals but we won’t be back.
