Had
the
most
awful
experience
with
the
owner/franchisee
of
Mugg
&
Bean,
Whale
Coast
Mall,
Hermanus.
I
visited
this
Mugg
&
Bean
today
along
with
my
partner
who
brought
along
his
laptop
to
do
some
work.
Some
time
had
passed
after
finishing
a
slice
of
lemon
meringue
and
a
bottomless
coffee
and
my
partner
decided
to
go
and
use
the
bathroom.
While
I
sat
there,
the
owner
approached
me
in
the
most
impolite
manner
and
asked
me
how
long
I
planned
on
staying.
I
then
told
him
we’ll
most
likely
stay
a
while
as
my
partner
is
doing
some
work.
He
then
told
me
that
he
cannot
allow
laptop
usage
now
and
needs
us
to
move
tables
so
that
he
can
allow
other
patrons
to
use
our
table.
After
he
walked
away,
I
looked
around
the
restaurant
and
realised
that
there
were
at
least
four
tables
that
were
empty,
as
well
as
the
booth
behind
me.
Whilst
looking
around,
I
also
realised
I
was
the
only
person
of
colour
in
the
restaurant
and
thus
probably
the
reason
why
the
old,
white
owner
very
rudely
asked
me
to
move.
After
my
partner
returned
to
our
table,
the
owner
approached
us
again
and
asked
us
to
move.
My
partner
stood
up
and
showed
the
owner
all
the
other
tables
available
and
told
him
we
will
not
move,
to
which
the
owner
replied
“I
will
not
allow
you
back
here
again”
in
Afrikaans.
It
is
important
to
note
that
there
is
no
sign
stating
that
laptop
usage
is
not
allowed
or
limited
to
an
amount
of
time.
Also,
there
is
no
sign
indicating
a
time
limit
of
table
occupancy.
The
owner
conducted
himself
in
the
most
rude
and
unprofessional
manner
from
the
moment
the
interaction
started
until
the
moment
he
demanded
we
leave.
