Great service, friendly staff & quality food. We love the buffet style that they do and we were very happy to find that they do dumplings as well. Our favourite by far is the steamed dumplings, but still looking forward to try the rest of their menu. The sushi chef is friendly and after visiting their restaurant about 4times he has recognised us already. He will make whatever your heart desires and gives great recommendations.

Best sushi I've had in a long time. Wonderfully fresh, good amount of salmon in each piece and clearly made by expert hands. Got a take away order but will 100% be coming for a sit down on account of how good the food was and the friendly customer service. Cannot wait until they do an all you can eat, but in the meantime, their combos are so cost effective and you get quite a bit too! EDIT: Finally got to go for dinner and it was wonderful. Great service, super cost effective (less than R300 for x3 people) and the sushi chefs are so nice.

THIS IS THE BEST SUSHI EVER! Honestly I hated the thought of having raw fish, but a friend convinced me to give raw fish another chance, and OMG it's an unforgettable experience. FOR ALL WHO HAVEN'T HAD SUSHI BEFORE. THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO GET YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE!!!

Best Sushi Platters in Town - We found a not so mild addiction for Platter C. We have dined in and Taken out and both experiences were equally as good.

Concluding my second trip to Taishan, I can safely say that it's worth a visit. Their prices are quite incredible. My colleague and I enjoyed five plates of sushi and a large portion of Chinese noodles, sake, green tea and two sparkling waters for less than R300 The sushi was okay. The more common plates were stronger than the deep friend and more experimental sushi options. The noodles were excellent, consistent with my first visit They could do with some loose leaf tea to add to the authenticity of the experience. Their sake was exceptional. The atmosphere is quite typical of a local Chinese restaurant. The interior and quality of furniture and utensils is largely underwhelming. Everything is relatively clean Would return any time, especially for takeaways!

Ordered delivery today GREEN CURRY with shrimps😐😐😐 it had so much pepper, it was impossible to eat even for person that likes spicy.. well R180 absolutely wasted. Had to though it away. But sushi were quite nice. Even though instead of cream soda that I ordered,I got Sprite😐😐 and noone even asked if I wanted to have it instead. So yeah. Not great πŸ˜• πŸ˜’

One of my favorite take out spots. Always really good food and is very affordable . My favorites are definitely their chicken rice, spring rolls and Bao buns. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I wandered in over lunch without any expectations, and I was pleasantly surprised. Sushi was excellent for the price, and we really enjoyed the Singapore noodles as a takeaway. Wish they were in delivery range.

There is better Asian food in Sandbaai further down the road. Drive more. The best part of the meal was that I didn't get sick. The stir-fry dishes were loaded with mystery sauce and undercooked veggies. The rice was tired. We went for an early dinner. Ended up having to make food when we got home. It was that bad... really.

Worst sushi I've ever had, had one bite of my hand roll and had to spit it out. Will never order here again. They didn't tell us all the sushi comes in a double portion, so we got double of everything we actually ordered. I would never have ordered so much, it was so expensive for something we had to throw away. What a waste.

Once again Thaishan has disappointed. Not the quality but the quantity. Sushi parcels are getting extremely small. R200 for platters i would value at R100. Please can management see too this. Would still like to support Thaishan in the future

Normally very good sushi and we'll priced. Last visit the chef was rude beyond acceptable level. Plenty other places to get sushi in Hermanus

Came for dinner during loadshedding. The noodles and thai fried rice were delicious. Service is great and food came quickly. Bonus: the cocktails are awesome!

Nice sushi but the bathrooms are sub-standard. No handtowels or paper towels or even a blower.. I'm guessing the kitchen staff use the same facilities, which makes me cringe. Complained four times to no avail. The last straw was when they wouldn't let us take the last 6 pieces of our 64 piece platter home. By the way still no improvement in the toilet facilities. Sorry but no.

A difficult one for me. We usually have sushi, which is fabulous and good value for money and would see a 4.5 star rating. The last time we had a selection of hot dishes. The amount of hidden sugar was frightening. I am a diabetic and my blood sugars went through the roof. It was tasty, just had a very negative effect on me.
