Very run down and sad display of fish jaws and whaling memorabilia. You pay R20 to get in but this also gives you access to the whale museum and the picture museum. The harbour is beautiful

Very run down. So much more could be done to make this historical museum more appealing to visitors. But if u appreciate history check it out. Lots of funding is needed to upgrade this museum

I interned here for 2 my months and I had a wonderful experience. The staff was welcoming and I accomplished my goal of learning more about sharks, conservation, and gaining more hands on experience. The lab is amazing and the amount of knowledge I gained was huge, I’ve never learned so much while also being surrounded by scientists and students of like-mindedness. The thrill of catching a shark while snorkeling is probably one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had and South Africa is a beautiful country. I highly recommend the program to anyone that is considering participating!!!

Beautiful place with sea, sun and lot of fresh food feels like Paradise !

It was nice. Good thing tickets allow you to see the harbour, photo and whale museums. That makes it worth it.

South Africa is a beautiful country, the staff are brilliant and very knowledgeable, the field work and lab work are very interesting and a great experience. The whole internship was amazing and has giving me a better understanding of what I’d like to do for a future career. I highly recommend the program to anyone that is considering joining!!!

SASC Offered a volunteer position to my daughter. They have an obligation to keep people safe and abreast of any volatile situations at their facility. Two days before my daughter left for South Africa the facility was burglarized. We were not made aware of it whatsoever not given a choice to get our money back and the manager of SASC said she was not aware of the burglary but that was blatantly false, all of her employees told us otherwise. They had violent riots in Hermanus that evening we arrived we ended up picking up my daughter because of the unstable situation in Hernanus. They obviously just want your money so be very careful because if you care for your child safety this is not the place to go.

Women in shark science intern, valuable work experience and skills that are useful for my career as a Marine Biologist. Learnt interpersonal skills as we worked with an array of people who all had different views.

Bare-bones front-line shark research lab - the tour was pretty quick but very interesting, and we got to see live sharks! Small ones; don't go in expecting great whites. The little dudes are amazing too!
