It's amazing that so many volunteers keep this organisation afloat through their incredible hard work and commitment. The penguins are brought in from Dyer Island and cared for until they are old enough or fit enough to be returned to their natural habitat. You can take a walk through and have a look a the penguins. There's also merch and coffee if that's your thing. Clean bathrooms on site and best of all, the whole thing is free. There's no excuse - go there now

An amazing experience. Make sure to visit at 15h00 when they feed them. A very instructive talk is given at the same time. A real eye opener. They also have some lovely cake selections and very nice coffee. The carrot cake and baked cheese cake are winners. The kids love the choc brownie mini loaves as they get warmed up and are super rich.

The people at the sanctuary do an incredible job in educating people about these wonderful penguins and helping them to get well and return to the wild. Must do for all animal lovers. Don’t forget to donate generously if you can!

This is our second visit. This place is filled with lots of information, nice photo spots with creative statues (whales and penguins) The staff is super friendly and helpful. They have curios that they sell as an income. Not too expensive either and since there is no entrance fee, please buy something

These guys do tremendous work, often without most people knowing about them. Take a 10 minute visit and drop them a small ( or large) donation

Only takes 10-15 mins to pop in, but a hugely rewarding visit. The lovely lady in the cafe was telling us the story of each penguins arrival and the names of the permanent resident penguins. A very lovely place to learn a bit more about the work they do here!

A place that requires your donations. Also make them a beneficiary of your Woolworths MySchool programme.

Had a nice coffee watching the penguins in their enclosure. Bought a few nice trinkets to support the cause. Only down was that the feeding happens at the back and can only be watched on a screen.

Conservation in action. A beautiful example of how the sanctuary is taking care of nature. We spent a good hour there. Very informative and you can also donate to help the birds. R150 feeds a few of them, R500 goes towards a custom built "nest" for the penguins. R1000 gets your name plate on the wall outside. Some interesting things penguin (soft toys etc)to buy among others. They happen to offer the best cheese cake in Gansbaai. We'll worth a visit.

Stopped by here as part of our great white shark dive. The company is heavily invested in conservation of the native species and it was great to see the work they do for not only shark conservation but also birds and other marine animals. Really impressive and important work going on there.

Be sure to get there by 3pm when they do the feeding. Very friendly and insightful staff members. Also be sure to try their carrot cake, it tastes great

Go there at 3pm to see the penguin feeding. The volunteers there interact really nicely with the birds and give lots of interesting information. There is also a cafe with cake and drinks and a gift shop. 100% of all the profit from the cafe goes to the penguins. Local children have made bracelets where 100% of that profit also goes to the penguins. I really enjoyed my visit here.
