Stunning view and tranquil atmosphere. Last been here over 35yrs ago. Just disappointed that one cannot go to the dam. If people could only see the beauty of it. Not sure if it's the same though. I remember going down to the dam wall. See attached pics.

A very scenic lookout point overlooking Gordon's Bay beach. The place is relatively busy and it seems like people have it on their list of favourite places to visit. There are several parking spots en-route on the road leading up to the main lookout point. Unfortunately the main lookout point has parking for about 8 vehicles.

The road up to the lookout point is amazing, beautiful views to the mountains and the ocean. It is a bit windy but definitely worth it. I recommend this lookout point, will visit again soon.

Lovely outlook. A couple got engaged while we were waiting for the sunset.

Beautiful view. On a clear day you can see, if not forever, but at least to the cranes in Cape Town harbour. We were above the clouds in the sunshine this time.

I mean if you EVER need to be reminded of this magnificent beauty we are part of and what is most important visit the Steenbras Lookout . Everyone else , same story, visit this lookout before you die. Atleast one. Make sure to post a picture on Instagram and tag me. I'd love to see who actually responds to this request @byvanrensburg on INSTAGRAM. ♡

Short hike but beautiful views. Baboons sometimes present going through the bins at the look out point. Just leav ethem be and stay in you vehicle. On a ear day without the baboons its a beautiful nlittle hike. Can get quite windy up there, be sure to pack a hair elastic and a top incase.

Many people know that the N2 Sir Lowry's pass has a place with a panoramic view of Helderberg, but they don't know that there is a bizarre rock along the Hiking trail with a panoramic view of Steenbras Dam, which is really amazing! There are also the relics of the ancestors a hundred years ago, which are the most beautiful ruins.

If you're in the Gordon's Bay region or happen to be passing through, the Steenbras Lookout Point is a tourist spot that you shouldn't miss. As you climb up to the top, the views become increasingly panoramic and more spectacular. Leave your car at the parking not far from the entrance to the dam and hike down a couple of clicks to experience the changing vistas, the colorful rock formations on either side of the road, the flora and fauna.

On a trip across the country, this is one of the best stops we had, a highly recommended spot to stretch your legs, tons to see, and many safe and close by parkings.

👍👍 Beautiful route with great scenery, very rocky and adventurous not a running trail and be cautious taking dogs on a sunny day. Very clean, We loved it!
