Blown away probably best describes my experience. Petronella treated me like royalty, sticking to my pace with stories and making me feel like they've been waiting for me all day to arrive. If atmosphere and services were the only things I had to rate my experience, this would be full marks. But then they bring out the wine, and you're reminded why attention to detail and perfection is what would set you apart from the rest. The complimentary cheese, olives and biscuits took this tasting to another level. I'm inspired, I have lots to think about, and I will definitely be back!

    - Hi, can we have a table for two? - Do you have reservation. - Sorry, no. - We are fully booked for tastings right now (70% or tables are empty btw) - Maybe we can just buy a bottle of wine and enjoy it at the bar? - We donā€™t do that. 10 minutes later in the lobby, while we are waiting for Uber to leave: A group of 4 comes in and we watch this happen in front of us: - Hi, can we have a table for 4? - Do you have reservation? - No. - Come in guys, choose any table you like! Ruined the mood, f this place!

Really intimate and classy estate. The wines are really good, and I managed to buy myself some. The service from the hostess through to the sommelier was really amazing and fun too. The cheese though was outstanding, served with crackers. When it arrived at my table I thought it was some flower or veg. Its actually cut on a cheese wheel and gets so aerated and has a slight crisp as it dries a little. Btw it was served complimentary, maybe provided you buy wine, im not sure. The 4 wine tastings we had was also complimentary, again maybe based on the wine purchase. Great visit.

Yesterday, we spontaneously visited the Oldenburg vineyards in Stellenbosch and managed to get a table without prior reservation. The vineyards seem to be in fantastic condition with superb views. The wines taste excellent, and I highly recommend the wine tasting to everyone. We suggest making a reservation for the wine tasting as they do not serve food and focus solely on their exquisite wine, which we love. Besides the wine, the highlight was the outstanding sommelier Frieda, whom I highly recommend. We will definitely come back and thank you for this wonderful experience.

I have been several times to this place - and it is the best in town. The wine is the star - and the view. Competent staff.

Fantastic experience. A lot of nice subtleties I didn't encounter at some of the other wineries. Handwash, pallette clensers with the tasting. Beautiful artwork and backdrop. Thabo made the experience.

Beautiful views from an exclusive tasting room. Our sommelier JP talked us through a journey across seven wines, different personalities, insightful experience. Then the winemaker Juergen just left us speechless, when he took part of his personal time to walk us around, absolutely grateful. You can tell that they are passionate about wine, about what they do, about helping you feel part of the vineyard. Being Spanish, with a French partner, we are quiteā€¦special on what we demand from an experience. This one is over the top, 1000% recommended.

Hands down, the best winery in the area. Allow me to explain why. The tasting room is intimate with just a few tables, offering exceptional views. Sommelier Jean Paul goes above and beyond to engage in conversations about wine (and life in general). The wines are superb, with my personal favorite being the 100% Cabernet Franc. When we asked for a behind-the-scenes tour, Jurgen, the winemaker, personally escorted us, sharing his passion and giving us a sneak peek at this yearā€™s vintage (spoiler alert: itā€™s on par with the 2015 level). Spending time with him was both enjoyable and enriching. Donā€™t hesitate; put this winery at the top of your list when you visit. You wonā€™t regret it.

If you are searching for a Winery in South Africa, you have to visit Oldenburg Vineyards in Stellenbosch! The property is amazing, and the landscaping is beyond beautiful! Everyone was very nice. This was my first time visiting a winery, and our sommelier JP was amazing. He thoroughly explained the wines and the process to make the wines. JP made us feel like family! The presentations, cheese and crackers, and JPs knowledge was superior! You will not be disappointed with this winery!

Now this is a hidden gem! What a special place creating beautiful juxtaposition between the modern architecture and the natural sweeping landscape of the vineyards and mountains, this is a vineyard not to miss for so many reasons. Not only is the service and knowledge exceptional the wine is absolutely beautiful. I donā€™t want to spoil it be spilling all, go taste for yourselfā€¦ PS: A special thank you to our sommelier Stefan, he was extremely insightful and welcoming. Thank you ā˜ŗļø

If you're into a more classy indoor wine tasting, this is the place for you. Personally, I like sitting outside and a more comfortable space - but this was an experience! Their tasting is done by trained Someliers (they know their wines). There's a certain level of excellence and sophistication at Oldenburg that is not always the case elsewhere in the Stellenbosch valley. Beautiful garden and view!

There should be more than 5 stars available for rating this place! Next level experience. The most beautiful setting, sublime wines, and our Sommelier, George, was incredible - his passion for Oldenburg and wine is phenomenal. If you haven't already visited this little slice of heaven, you really need to!

There are Incredible views at this wine farm. They only do wine tastings. You get a complimentary platter with your wine tasting. The wine tasting is also not cheap and the wines itself is also on the expensive side. However, the wines are definitely very nice, great tasting and well structured and if your pocket can afford it, buy a few bottles. The service was very good too.

Some of the most spectacular views to be had in this hidden corner of the breathtaking Banghoek Valley. With its outstanding wines and exceptional service this is a regular stop for my guests. I can't recommed this estate more highly and look forward to my next visit. Many thanks to the team that always make me feel so welcome!

Just off the Helshoogte pass is this elite gem with the most entertaining wine hostesses. Exquisitely beautiful scenery, fantastic wines ( we did the Rondekop tasting) and a great surprise with the complimentary nibbles.

Our fave winery that we even bought several bottles to bring back in the Philippines. The service was impeccable. We were very lucky to experience this place all to ourselves. The best tasting experience. The wine selection šŸ¤ŒšŸ¤ŒšŸ¤Œ The view is breathtaking. Weā€™ll definitely be back on our next trip to Africa.

Absolutely a fantastic wine tasting experience. Incredible wines, stunning venue, and mountain vista to die for. Ask for Ms. P. to do your tasting. Her passion, knowledge and personality were simply incredible!! Donā€™t miss.

A rare jewel - located in the bosom of the Banghoek region, off Helshoogte. Amazing mountain views and friendly staff šŸ™‚

Extraordinary wines, helpful knowledgable service, lovely scenery; a top-notch experience overall. My only regret is that we didn't have more time to relax in such beautiful surroundings and that air travel limited the number of bottles I could buy. Okay I suppose that's two regrets, not one, but hopefully I'm getting my point across: this vineyard is incredible. While all the wines we tasted were fantastic (it's rare that I say that), the Chenin Blanc, especially, is not to be missed. Make a reservation; you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic experience, well worth booking in advance. Just had the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon which we brought back in December 2023 to open in cold, miserable UK. An awesome wine. Go to Oldenburg. The memories will sustain you through the cold winter nights.
