Quite a peaceful museum, thoroughly enjoyed the pieces of art displayed, and a relatively wide range might I add. They had paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, and various intriguing displays and set ups. I’d say it’s worthwhile if you’re looking for something to do on any given day. Visited Stellenbosch that day and stumbled upon it on our drive around. There’s a theme of political, and socioeconomic background throughout the museum. Entrance was free on the Wednesday I visited and the staff was friendly. I will be posting a Tiktok on this museum (@pashieb)

Very nice art exhibit on show today, lots of Macro images and brass sculptures. Very interesting. We went for some cheese and wine tasting which was very nice and the coffee shop was also good. Had some cheese cake and coffee which were both very good.

Beautiful experience with amazing exhibits. Enjoyed the Pierneef Station Panels immensely and thatfuk that they were preserved given the way the station has gone. Irma Stern works were also striking. And all that for free entrance.

Top class art museum exhibiting a diverse cross section of art. From Pierneef to modern Fibre art, classical bronzes to electronic installations. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Delightful. Free entry and I will keep coming back. The café is also absolutely great and this is one of the only museums I know of where you can carry your takeaway coffee while walking through.i

They were holding a beer tasting that we had booked for. We loved the museum fantastic exhibitions. It's a very relaxing art gallery with a wonderful little restaurant/coffee shop. They also have a library that you can work in with wifi, staff were extremely helpful. We will definitely be going back

We visited for the last Saturdays fun! The action painting was an amazing activity to do as a married couple & for only R100. Afterwards we strolled through the art exhibitions with a glass of wine and enjoyed the live music. What a vibe!

The Pierneef room on its own is well worth a visit, however, there are always great exhibitions in the other galleries.

Very interesting place and well displayed work from well known artists. Exceptional work with motor vehicle tyre tubes and other work besides paintings. Beautiful modern building and setup. Took a few seniors and they really enjoyed it too.

The exhibition spaces are stunning. The temporary exhibitions are well curated, with friendly gallery staff on hand to answer any questions. And, the Pierneef Station Panels are not to be missed.

What an amazing experience it was. The people greeted us very friendly at the door and when we walked through the gallery I was simply in awe. The tranquility they created inside was so real. We then went to the restaurant and the food was wonderful and all the staff was so helpful and friendly. I really recommend the Rupert Museum and restaurant.

More of an art gallery than a museum which was a great surprise. Wonderful collection of JH Pieneef paintings and litho prints. There was also a display of great bonsai treeswhich complimented the art perfectly.

Small art gallery with a wonderful art collection. Unfortunately when we visited the museum was understaffed and had been running an event, so the cafe had no food on offer. Coffee was okay.

Interactive art that must be experienced in person on display. Delicious food and coffees sold at the cafe inside as well as eye opening classes provided. A great visit for those looking for a place to enjoy good art, good vibes and good company.

Beautiful gallery! Even easy to appreciate if you're not an artsy person. The Transnet paintings room is special to see, especially as a South African. Great coffee shop; good coffee, baked goods, and friendly staff.

A lovely place for an outing - exhibitions are updated every now and then. The Pierneef paintings are my favorite. Free entry, free parking. There is a small coffee shop too which I haven't tried.

Was very exciting experience to view the art exhibitions on show, the abstract art which was on show, the silence was so harmonious and peaceful to the soul, which indeed brought a deeper appreciation of art, I'm definitely coming back again!

How lucky are we, that we can visit this beautiful museum for free. We came for the stunning Pierneef panels, but also enjoyed the other exhibitions. My kids really appreciated the interactive parts in the last room.
