The moment you step over the threshold you're back in time. Beautiful display of toys out of another era. From dollhouses, miniatures, amazing collection of dinky cars... Lovely collection of dolls and an impressive train track miniature model. Nice grounds to enjoy a picnic after your visit 🌷

Very friendly lady greeted us and we shared some childhood stories. Truly enjoyed the constructed doll house scenes from different background, class and nationalities. Large collection of Dinky toy cars... Was amazing to see. This is like travelling back in time moments for the older generations or if you want to show your kids how toys started out.

Very interesting and kinda creepy. Heehee. The doll houses are magnificent. Make sure you have a R5 on hand to activate the trainset. Definitely worth it. Loved every minute of it.

Stumbled across the Toy & Miniature Museum, such a cute outing. Really cool to see old games, toys and tall the miniature figurines. The building is stunning as well, with original flooring in the entrance.

Very interesting toys and realistic toy furniture pieces. It was a pity that the model train was out of order, will definitely revisit to experience it once it's running again.

The Toy & Miniature Museum Stellenbosch was established in 1984 by Annatjie and Koos Malan and showcases a massive collection of dolls, cars, trains and other toys. The museum is surprisingly large inside and it’s also in part a history of toys. Some of the toys are donations and to be fair, some of the dolls faces do give off a freaky vibe. But it’s a magical place and Mishka was especially helpful not only in explaining the museum, but also guiding a tourist to other museums in the area. If you are a wheelchair, navigating the museum might prove difficult. The highlight is definitely the working train set. You can watch it go for a nominal amount.

An interesting place to visit if you're in Stellenbosch but probably only if you have an interest in vintage toys, dolls or matchbox cars. The building was undergoing some much needed maintenance when we visited and the atmosphere was a little dead. Hope they can revive it a bit and update some of the exhibits.

Its ok if are interested in toys and old vintage toys alike. They have a huge motorised train set but train set wasnt working. They are looking for a model train specialist to fix it. Dear Museum Owner / Staff, when you finally get the model trains fixed, please let me know. I visited the place specially for that and was extremely dissapointed to see it was out of order.

They have a huge selection of replica cars, but the museum is clearly needing an upgrade. The miniature town with railways are broken, some displays are broken or without lighting. I felt it is rather expensive for what you see. Lay-out could definitely be improved - it feels run down.

If I could rate it a zero star I would. Have made the trip twice now to visit and yet again it was closed even though they say on the info board they are open on public holidays.

This is not a huge space or extensive collection but for a very very low price you can see a nicely cared for collection of dolls, cars, trains and other toys. The building is small but well laid out with different displays. It includes some locally/folk produced toys/dolls as well as more mass produced toys. The biggest disappointment was that currently the model train display is not functioning and needs some TLC from a competent amateur/professional model train enthusiast. Probably the hardest part is finding the entrance honestly. You do need to walk down quite a long path from the road to get to the building itself. Overall worth the cost and maybe 20 minutes you might spend here if you want to really inspect the collection.

Lovely miniature ornaments. If your thing is automotives, you will spend hours just looking at the variety automobiles.

Interesting history of donated toy collections and a fun R5 can be used to start a model train setup. That said the exhibits seem a little worn and some of the labelling or exhibits would do good for a refresh. Still worth a look for the interesting history of toys in SA though.

Lovely and interesting museum. Brought back memories of my childhood toys and they have toys from most countries in the world. The attention to detail in the pieces is on point. Definitely worth a visit.

Super cool place, with some really impressive models and miniatures. Great toy car collection! The model railway displays are impressive and the doll houses and minaturr sets are great. Sadly the place is a little run-down and it could be amazing, but falls a bit short. I think the place needs some support and it is more than worth the R15 entry fee for adults. Pop in if you are in the area, definitely worth a visit.

The toy and miniature museum seemed like a rip off until we got to the car miniature. The first 2 rooms weren't doing it for us on our visit. However when we went down the hallway with all the car miniature it was amazing. The really have an amazing collection of miniature cars. We saved the best for last and that was seeing a replica of the old train and the route it takes. About 5 min of the traina driving around for only R5. The cars alone was worth the R 40 I spent. The train was just an added bonus at the end of the day. Just note that the train doesn't work during loadshedding and that some of the displays don't have lights.
