It is a stunning location with friendly service, but the wine is average... We were seated in the tasting room and could see the restaurant, which was packed to the brim! Had us wondering if we should have opted for brunch instead of average tasting wine 🥱🤔

Nestled amidst the Stellenbosch region of South Africa, Avontuur Wine Estate is sprawling vineyard that boasts of an amazing collection of wine and hospitality. As you drive into the estate, the beautiful horses in the manicured lawns blows your mind. The tasting session is one of the best in the region. Special mention to the coordinator for being a sweetheart, carefully explaining all the different wines the place has to offer. The tasting session ended with each of us being gifted with a complimentary bottle of wine to take back home. Mindblown. Overall, you wouldn't want to miss the place once you're in Stellenbosch.

Loved the fudge & nougat tasting! Unfortunately understaffed and the service took way to long! Should definitely get more staff for the tasting room.

Lovely wine tasting , friendly staff however the food was not worth the prices... nothing was wrong with food it was just overpriced for what you got! The waitress was friendly and on that there is no fault ! Overall lovely estate and perfect views...

The atmosphere and wine were great but the food was very disappointing and overpriced for what we got. We had the kingklip and the fish was rubbery with no flavour. The vegetables were clearly boiled and mushy. Over all a disappointing meal. The waitress was helpful but the food was late. No her fault

What an incredible experience. We arrived to a beautiful venue and we were greeted with smiles. The wine experience was exceptional. Arman served us, he was perfect. My wife had the standard tasting and I had the fudge pairing. We both agreed that the red blend was the best. Will definitely be back

We had a wedding here on the 14. December 2023 for just under 100 guests and everything was executed in a top manner and with great emphasis on details. Food and service were excellent and accommodation gracious and elegant! Highly recommended!

As parents to three kiddos, we don't often get the opportunity to go on a date. Today was an exception, and we took full advantage to explore a recommendation. Welcome to a piece of heaven, Avontuur Estate. Surrounded by the warm summer breeze, great views, amazing company and the most delicious food, my hubby and I had a magical experience. I can't fault a thing. Highly recommended. We will most definitely come back. I'm so thankful for the time alone with my hubby. Investing in moments like this together is something we plan to work harder on in the year ahead. Today was bliss! The food was delicious and so beautiful in its presentation.

The wine was off and the maitre d was making suggestive jokes towards my partner (!?) three starts for the view, only.

Tasty wine and fudge tasting, although you need to speed up with the whites first as everything comes together.

What a spectacular place this is, my Wife and I spent a day at Avontuur Wine Estate for our 7th anniversary, we were blown away by the beauty of the people and the Wine Estate. What an experience it was. Definitely something to encounter. The staff were so friendly and hospitable, we felt right at home. I have never been so disgusted with any wine tasting/farm service in my life. When my fiancé and I got there the service was already off putting. Not even a greeting. When we asked for the menu it was handed to us with little to no care. After having a look, and deciding we’ll have a go at the food no guidance was provided on whether we can have a seat or not. We asked for a seat and were sent in two directions. When we chose a seat the waiter asked us if we won’t rather want to move to a different seat. We went to have a look and the table was excessively large. Once we were seated again he asked us for another time if we don’t want to rather move somewhere else. He handed us one menu in the process and suddenly engaged in conversation with other staff leaving us unattended to. After almost a full day of exploring the wine lands area, this was by far the most disappointing experience in over 17 years at a restaurant in the area.

Worth experiencing the wine tasting at the Avontuur wine tasting venue and the Avontuur restaurant. Don't stop yourself from going! Value for money, food is definitely well-made and amazing staff! Thank you Othelene, our waitress for providing us with such exceptional service and the manager constantly checking in on us... impeccable service and food to tantalize your tastebuds... love for amazing food

Attended a work function of about 60 guests. Wonderful venue with very hospitable hosts. Food was excellent and the staff are friendly and quick but also unobtrusive. Was a great event on all levels.

3 stars for setting and layout. The venue in general could use an upgrade on loungers and dining furniture overall, a bit outed dated. In terms of the layout, it’s not quite an aesthetic experience when it feels like you’re having a wine tasting in a parking lot and not on a beautiful wine farm that breeds world class horses. This unfortunately left me disappointed when arriving at the venue after driving an hour to get to the farm. The red wines were great and staff very friendly.

Google said this closes at 9pm. We arrived at 5:15. The gate let us in but when we got out of our Uber everyone was very rude and said they were already closed. No one offered us anything even though we had travelled there specifically.
