From the moment you arrive at Uva Mira, you are greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff who are eager to share their passion for wine. The winery is not overcrowded or touristy, which makes for a more personalized and enjoyable experience. This allows visitors to truly immerse themselves in the world of wine and appreciate the artistry that goes into producing each bottle. During my visit, I had the pleasure of tasting the 2020 Shiraz, which was an exceptional wine. The depth and complexity of the wine were truly remarkable, and it was clear that every aspect of the winemaking process had been carefully considered. I also had the chance to try the Merlot and Chardonnay, both of which were equally delicious and expertly crafted. If you have the opportunity to purchase a box of the D.W. Syrah, I highly recommend it. This wine is truly something special, with its bold flavors and rich aromas. It is a true testament to the passion and dedication of the winemakers at Uva Mira. In addition to the exceptional wine, Uva Mira also boasts stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The atmosphere is serene and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Whether you're a seasoned wine enthusiast or simply looking for a beautiful place to spend an afternoon, Uva Mira is an excellent choice. In conclusion, I cannot recommend Uva Mira winery enough. The professional staff, fantastic atmosphere, and exceptional wine make this winery a true gem in the South African wine industry. Whether you're a local or visiting from afar, make sure to add Uva Mira to your list of must-visit wineries. You won't regret it!

The highest winery on the hill in the region. Good view all the way to the sea from the tasting room. The road that leads to this vineyard is narrow but easy to follow. The view of the vineyards on the slope is also beautiful with the mountain in the background. I highly recommend you stop by here as a secondary destination of the region.

Wow, wow, wow. These wines are incredibly powerful and expressive. I wanted to buy everything but due to limited space and 100% duty Canada charges for anything over two bottles I was a bit restricted. However, I still managed to buy three bottles. The first two I purchased were the 2015 Syrah and 2015 Merlot. The Merlot was to drink on my trip and the Syrah was to bring home. However, I managed to also taste the D.W. Syrah, The Dance Cabernet Franc, and the O.T.V.. I left the winery with only two bottles, but the finish was sooo long on the O.T.V. that I could still taste it when I got to my car in the parking lot. (Don't worry I was spitting so as to do a proper tasting and to of course remain sober.) So I just had to go back and buy another bottle. That being said, I can still vividly remember the Cabernet Franc and wish I bought a bottle of that as well as it would also age spectacularly. The only downfall is that too many of their wines are insanely delicious so your will power will be severely tested. Although some of the wines are pricier than other vineyards they are justified as wines of similar quality in other regions (North America) would cost much more.

We had a fabulous time at Uva Mira. The grounds are stunning and the views of the mountains are breathtaking. The icon wine tasting was personable and our host was very knowledgeable. The wines are very refined and polished. Off to a good start with a lovely sauvignon blanc, nothing too surprising there. Then, I was a little hesitant about the chardonnays but luckily they are crafted very differently compared to Californian wines- crisp and fresh much more like in their spiritual homeland, the burgundy. Again, the Syrah was old-world style with brisk acidity and firm tannins. My favorite was the Cabernet Franc, described as the sophisticated sister of the Cabernet sauvignon. This was my favorite wine of the tasting. Fragrant, and elegant with earthy, spicy, herbal notes with a tingly acidity. This was also the perfect time for the cheese platter to be served. The cabernet sauvignon that followed was probably the best wine they served, but I had already fallen in love with the cabernet Franc, his unattainable sister. While we enjoyed the cheese we were then served another pour of our favorite wine. We enjoyed a well-prepared cortado in front of the fireplace to round off the experience.

One of the best hidden gems just between Stellenbosch and Somerset West. I just had to bring my parents up here to share this beautiful place and it was such an experience for them. Some of the most gorgeous views. The Vineyard is 620m above sea level. The staff are absolutely amazing: friendly and professional, and knowledgeable, it definitely adds to the experience. The wines are next level, and every single one is smooth, and divine. There's no restaurant, but that adds to the ambience of the place, there are a couple of platters available and some tea or coffee for those who have to drive. Definitely worth a visit. A timeless place to go back to.

Felt very welcomed from the moment we walked in. The cheese and meat platters were phenomenal, and they have non-alcoholic options if you're not doing the tasting. Amazing view and wonderful service. Actively involved in the tasting process, as well as allowing time between glasses to enjoy each glass.

Stellar views and service. Willem was passionate and attentive, and the wines were memorable. We also had the privilege to try the Mira Icon, which they generously shared with us as an extra to our tasting on the day.

A phenomenal experience and outstanding service by an amazing young lady. From the cheese platter to wines we tasted it was one of the best experiences ever. I would advise anyone to make the effort to do this wine tasting. The drive up to the wine estate was simply a mind blowing experience the views so spectacular, then the actual wine tasting experience was truly wow. We were charmed by the exceptional quality.

We were treated to a very classy atmosphere with a pleasantly French experience in the mountain valley. We were there on very foggy day, so the stunning views could be appreciated but our sommelier was well versed in knowledge of their wines. Great attention to detail with a warm, attentive greeting from our hostess. Will definitely make a point to come back.

This is a magical place owned by Toby Venter, the CEO of Porsche, Bentley and Lamborghini in South Africa. There are views from the tasting center of False Bay that are uniquely spectacular. It's worth the drive up and the white wines are the hidden prize of this wine farm. Cheese and charcuterie plates are available to order. Booking for tastings is essential, unless you know what you want- then buy a bottle, sit on the grass and soak it up.
