Absolute gem. One of my best experiences on wine farm. Superb wine, excellent food, compassion for their work, service and sharing knowledge... The preservation of tradition is truly admirable. Lovely place

We visited on the 20th of July through a wine tour and wow, what an excellent experience. Reuben assisted us with our tasting and he was truly a highlight not only of that day but our holiday. His storytelling and people skills were superb and the wine was the best I tasted all day. I couldn't recommend a visit here enough.

It has been years since I have had a lunch at Muratie, but today did not disappoint. This ancient cellar has lots of character, a warm atmosphere and is framed by lots of spiderwebs. I have an excellent lamb shank, tender and well prepared. We also tasted various wines during meal. I did the premium wine tasting and it was excellent. The wines where great and the staff extremely friendly and professional. All and all an amazing experience.

Had a wonderful experience with my husband. The wine tasting was great and the history behind this Estate is extremely interesting. The have come a long way from where they started until now and haven't lost their essence.

My bridesmaids organised my surprise kitchen tea under the trees at stunning Muratie wine farm. The day exceeded all my expectations. The service was superb and the food was amazing! The chef prepared a special menu that suited our event. We received so many compliments from our guests about the presentation and flavours of the food. A big thank you from my side to everyone at Muratie who contributed to the special day. I would highly recommend Muratie as a venue for any event!

You need to have Muratie on your list of tastings in ZA. Great wine, great people, great service, great food. Lot of funny storytelling that comes along with an absolut profound knowledge of wine from Ruben. As we already knew some muratie wines we could have some other wines for the tasting besids the listed one - very flexible - and ofcause Mrs B. you should agree on one list of 4-5 wines. Awesome historical property whit a lot of history at every corner.... Thx to Lukas Mack

I am so glad we came past here . It really was incredible. I definitely recommend sitting inside this very old vineyard. So much history. With the tasting, every wine just got better . A truly great experience

Muratie positively drips with history. The old-world feel, cozy cellar alcoves, and spider-webs fluttering in the hot air rising from the fireplace make it one of the most atmospheric wine tastings I have experienced. It helps that the wines are extraordinary. The gardens are stunning. Lush, overflowing with flowers, massive trees... yup, it's well worth a visit.

Muratie is one of the oldest estates, steeped in history. Beautiful old buildings house tasting rooms and dining areas in the historical cellars. There are a number of interesting shops selling local crafts, an art gallery and a cycle shop for those heading off on the MTB trail. The trees in the gardens are huge, they must be really old.

The food was delicious and the wines excellent. But it is the history of Muratie and the spider webs that make it a unique experience. Lots of fire places to keep you warm.Ask for Sneaky!Best sommelier.

Did an enjoyable hike with family followed by a ery nice lunch. Have been coming to this vineyard since student days in the early 90s. Always a pleasant experience.

I recently visited Muratie Wine Estate, a place I often bring friends and family when they visit the Cape. I have always been captivated by the estate's rich history and the fascinating story behind it. However, on my recent visit, I experienced a significant letdown due to the lack of knowledge displayed by our hostess, Jaqculine. As someone who highly regards the heritage and significance of Muratie Wine Estate, I always set high expectations for the experience I share with my guests. I take pride in showcasing the farm's historical background and the expertise of their staff, ensuring my guests have an enriching experience. Unfortunately, Jaqculine's lack of understanding about the farm's history and the winemaking process was a source of great embarrassment for me. It is disheartening when a hostess at such a renowned estate fails to possess even the basic knowledge about the farm and its wines. The essence of a wine tasting experience lies in unraveling the story behind the vineyard, exploring its roots, and discovering the intricate details that make each wine unique. However, in this instance, it seemed as though the pouring of the wines took precedence over enlightening visitors about the estate's legacy. I have always held Muratie Wine Estate in high regard for its commitment to preserving its heritage and crafting exceptional wines. However, I strongly believe that it is crucial for the staff, especially those in a hostess role, to embody the spirit of the farm and be well-informed ambassadors. The ability to share the captivating narrative behind the estate and its wines not only adds depth to the tasting experience but also leaves a lasting impression on guests.

Amazing farm and history. Service was so POOR I left after 4th tasting. Waiter had no capacity to host or share the history of the farm which is the most interesting. Some waiters are better than others - luck of the draw.

Certainly one of the most beautiful estates I have been to. Enchanting! Rustic feel and stunning gardens. I could not have picked a better spot to take 4 Australians to, who loved it. The wine and the food were excellent! You cannot go wrong.

Popped in for a divine breakfast. Picture perfect views. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Wine tasting is a MUST. We did the chocolate and wine pairing. R85 for a MCC, two wines, three chocolates and a fascinating glimpse into the farm's history. Ruben's knowledge of the farm was impeccable and extensive. He was super entertaining and we hung onto his every word. All their wines and other homemade goodies can be purchased at their farm shop. There are also three art galleries displaying stunning works of art and vintage furniture for sale. I highly recommend you pay them a visit.

OMG what an absolute amazing wine estate! 🥂 This place is a MUST visit! It is so beautiful with it’s plantations, old houses and great history! Of course the wine is also super good 💫 You definitely need to go here for a lunch/wine tasting if you are in the area! We also stayed in there guest lodge for a night and that was one of the best experiences of our trip! ❤️ We highly recommend this place!

I came here on a wine tasting tour. The wine selection and ambiance was awesome. I ended up going home with the Amber Forever dessert wine. This was my favorite winery on the tour.

Been twice now and would definitely go again. Please don’t wash the cobwebs away from the windows it’s so in keeping with the old buildings where the wine tasting takes place, all be it the first time we went we sat outside under the enormous oak trees. Thank you Kate for taking us to such a lovely place X. Brilliant wines and a better than the french can make sparkling pink wine 😍

Truly magnificient wines! Highly recommend to wine taste the Flagship and Premium tasting menus. The history and stories behind each unique wine tells a tale in you pallette. The buildings and atmosphere setting was tranquil within the valley since late 1600. Staff friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and history of the farm. A must visit.

Excellent service, superb food and the best atmosphere. This unique wine farm has a very interesting, historical background and your visit will be well worth it. I had a private event here today and we were very well looked after.

Such a lovely experience. Beautiful winery with maintained old structures and designs. A journey to the historic past. Special thanks to Mr. Snicky. Very knowledgeable and friendly person. Wines are great within affordable price. Highly recommend.

Great location and vibe. However the food was a huge disappointment. Ordered a steak medium rare, came as a well done and needed a chainsaw to cut it. Had to ask for mustard three times. The bubbly came without an ice bucket and had to again ask for one. For places that are rated so highly, it was a huge disappointment and cannot recommend it. There are plenty of other wine estates in the area that are excellent. Take your business elsewhere.
