This is a great stop when exploring the southern tip of Africa. When you get here, make sure you pay for the Funicular which will take you up and down from the top of the hill. The walk up should be reserved for those who are used to hiking. It’s very windy at all times so make sure to hold on to something as you approach the top.

It is a must when you visit the Cape of Good Hope, the walk to the Lighthouse is very pleasant and not hard at all, the views are breathtaking and the division on the Atlantic ocean and the Indian is just wow! If you don’t want to do the walk you can also get there through a funicular. I recommend to go there wearing jeans and maybe a light jacket because the wind is just crazy! When you pay the fee for the park R350 you have access to the lighthouse but not the funicular, although you cannot visit the inside of the the lighthouse. At the bottom they have a nice shop and restaurant where you can enjoy the view. Oh you can also see some baboons!

Last point in South Africa to the oceans. Stunning view when you can enjoy the nature, land, beaches, and oceans. Recommended to visit.

While you can take stunning photos here and have a good work out climbing the stairs. The entry fee of 320 Rand or $32 (AUD) is somewhat overpriced. Added to that the wait at the entry gate is mind boggling. There is a funiuclar ( motorised transport) you can take to the top, just below the light house.

Beautiful views, entry is expensive. There are other roads you can drive down to other beaches/areas in the reserve. There are a few walking trails. Worth it to explore the other areas.

an excellent place! We found it even more stunning than the world-famous Cape of Good Hope. Excellent views from the top at the lighthouse. Take the cable car to get up, which makes it even fully acceptable to disabled people.

A fantastic vista over the southern oceans, nothing but sea until Antarctica! Great views 360 degrees. A lovely walk up to the lighthouse, fairly steep but not difficult, if less mobile there is a funicular. A definite visit when in Cape Town

If you have picked the perfect day, weather wise, you will have an awesome time enjoying the beauty of Cape Point. Cape Point is NOT the place where the two oceans (Indian and Atlantic) meet nor the most Southern Point of Africa, but rather the most South-Western point of Africa. It is a definite MUST SEE!

Absolutely amazing, every part of the journey. However try to visit when there is not a thousand tourists making every part of the experience take ten times longer. Other than that amazing Fauna and Flora and the views is one of a kind.

Stunning. If your visiting or live here it's a must see for the view / atmosphere. Visited on a day where the cloud was clipping the top of the cape - surreal to see the cloud flying at you. Highly recommend the lighthouse keepers trail!

Went on a tour with a personal guide he picked us up at our hotel and stopped when we asked. Pointed out the coves and beaches added commentary. All and all a great experience. We climbed to the top, a very steep walkway. There was a baboon in the parking lot, checking people out, getting checked out by the people. George our guide told us about them. No food or snacks in your bags or hands, they'll snatch it away. The water and rocks are beautiful. Seals and ostriches are all around.

🕊️🕊️🕊️ 🤳🤳 Cape of Good Hope, within the Cape Point National Park; at the viewing point taking the must do selfie. Be an early bird, from 10am the first sightseeing busses will arrive . If you are "fit" use the footh path to Cape Point. It`s worth the effort. Refer to Google Maps tag: Cape of Good Hope

Not for the unfit person who don't like walking - this lighthouse keepers trail are a challenge even for a fit person! Steep up and down climbing stairs and pathways leading up to the New Cape Point Lighthouse, but what an amazing view once to reach the final destination! Breathtaking view - 1 point with many viewpoints! Just amazing and so worth the mission to get to the end! Just loved this hiking trail and will def do it again. Remember to wear comfy shoes and take plenty of water! It is approximately one kilometre each way. The wind is likely to be extremely strong!

(Translated by Google) Despite popular belief, the Cape of Good Hope is not the end of Africa - the southernmost point is Cape Needle - a true meeting place of the two oceans. However, after passing the cape of good hope, Portuguese explorers landed at the place where the cross is now. On the cape there is a lighthouse and an observation point from World War II. The road to the lighthouse is not long and on a sunny day it is a pleasant walk. If you cannot walk, you can take the cable car up the mountainous area. Upstairs a beautiful view of the ratings and the coast. A magical place. Miejsce magiczne.

The New Cape Point Lighthouse is a stunning and awe-inspiring sight. The views from the top are simply breathtaking, with panoramic views of the ocean, cliffs, and coastline. However, the cliffs themselves are also quite scary, and it is important to be careful when visiting. I would recommend visiting the New Cape Point Lighthouse if you are looking for a unique and unforgettable experience. Just be sure to be careful and respectful of the natural environment.

One of the most beautiful cities I have visited, with everything better than all the countries in the world. Security, safety and beauty. The country, unlike the Gulf countries, we have winter, they have a beautiful summer. The temperature does not exceed 18 in summer, and if we have summer, they have winter. Really worth every riyal spent on it

We had a fantastic visit to the Cape Point Lighthouse. The view from the top is spectacular. We took the Funicular and walked the rest of the way to the lighthouse. We visited at the end of August 2023 and it was not busy at all and the weather was beautiful. A must-visit when you're in this area.

A unique experience is definitely to be had at this gorgeous landscape. Pack your picnic basket and enjoy an entire day of stunning views and breathtaking sceneries. You'll have to go back in order to explore the other hidden gems as there is so much to see and do. Beaches on either side of the land, a shipwreck, the lighthouse and wild life.

Really beautiful view! A great way to see all three Ocean meet! A great climb too but don't bother taking the funicular unless you physically can't climb the stairs / hike. Beautiful!!! Just go! It’s so worth it! It will require some hiking to go up some steep hills and steps. So dress accordingly. Weather can get hot with the sun and the breeze comes and goes. If you don’t want to hike up you can buy a one or two way ticket on a lift. There’s a gift shop at the top for snacks, drinks or gifts. If you look carefully, you may see monkeys on the rock cliffs. Also you get a good view of simons town from here.

(Translated by Google) The Cape of Good Hope, extreme south of the African continent, union of the Atlantic and Indian sea, needed to have a light that marked the safe way to cross this strait of stormy waters, when there were still no GPS, all the boats that went from America or Europe to Asia and the Middle East and vice versa, used these lighthouses that for 24 hours marked the safe route. Reaching the base of this lighthouse implies climbing a very steep staircase with many steps, the good thing is that there are breaks from time to time with benches, from which you can see the beautiful landscape of Cape Good Hope. The best way to get there is using tourist transport, minivans with different capacities of pax that offer private tours, which in a full day allows you to visit the Cape Peninsula, beautiful beaches, penguin reserve areas and the bay of Hout Bay at very low prices. reasonable, where in addition to a boat ride, you can have food based on seafood at a very reasonable price At several of these sites you will find locals offering souvenirs at popular fairs at very cheap prices compared to Cape Town (Original) El cabo de Buena Esperanza extremo sur del continente africano union del mar Atlántico e Indico, necesitaba tener una luz que marcase la forma segura de cruzar este estrecho de aguas tormentosas, cuando todavía no habían GPS, todas las embarcaciones que iban de América o Europa al Asia y Oriente Medio y viceversa , utilizaban estos faros que durante las 24 horas marcaba la ruta segura.

The old Cape Point Lighthouse was built in 1860. It is a round, prefabricated cast iron construction at Cape Point, standing 249 meters above sea level. It was replaced by the Cape Point Lighthouse in 1919. The wrecking of the Portuguese liner Lusitania in 1911 was a major factor, as the new lighthouse is situated 162 metres lower, where its light is less likely to be obstructed by cloud.

A must see to complete the tour of the peninsula. Perfect for a day trip away from Cape Town - just make sure you go with a registered guide. The views are amazing, and there is a small train up and down if you don’t want to walk. Views for miles, phone cameras can’t do it justice!

Park by the lighthouse and walk way over to the other parking lot via trails and boardwalks. It takes an hour there and back if you put on a good pace. We were laughing because in Canada these boards would never pass the test (we are such a nanny state) but what a beautiful area. We saw Eland along the way. No baboon sightings until the road back.

4 Stars - worth going given its historical significance. The history of trade and sailors fascinate me a lot and that’s why I enjoyed the being here. Otherwise, it’s mostly a typical tourist lighthouse. The wind was very very strong like it could blow you away on the day we’re there.

Dear readers, Nothing much to say apart from the lighthouse having some historical significance. What really great is the sun set. This is a great place to take selfies with the two oceans in the background. Parking is plentiful and there’s a small charge to go inside the lighthouse. What’s really funny... if your thinking of buying property in this location, make sure the lighthouse light is not systematically shining into your home! Not sure when the folks bought these properties they considered the lighthouse lights.
