A relatively short and easy climb for a spectacular view. On a clear day you can see Lion’s Head and Table Mountain.

Wonderful hike with exceptional views overlooking Paarl and we could even see Table mountain in the distance. It is a relatively easy climb/walk although their are a few steep hills. Although we had a map the routes however were very poorly marked and most of the time we had to find are way.

Bretagne Rock can be a challenging walk up as it starts out quite steep. Please use good shoes and do not take this walk in the rain or even when the rock surface is wet. Thankfully, there are chains to assist you to walk up and once you get to the top, there are lovely views of Gordon’s Rock adjacent as well as Nantes dam down below. It’s pretty exhilarating to get to the top and congratulate yourself on the accomplishment. There’s not much accommodation for wheelchair users but there is a clean and free bathroom at the base.

Very beautiful spot! A must see. The climb was steep but very worth it. Would recommend getting a small map of the area!

Vehicle got broken into at the Victoria Dam, place needs security... Beautiful scenes though, just wouldn't be too keen on going back again. Not a good experience.

Great short hike from Meulwater Botanical Garden. The circular path is hard to find and starts just up the hill from the toilets in the braai area. Look for the white foot print marker on the rock. The route goes up the rock face incline to Paarl rock then right along the dirt track over to Gordon's Rock (the biggest rock!) follow the boardwalk onto the rock and up the chains, steep but easy. Amazing view from top. Head back down same way but follow dirt track all the way back down. Just before the ranger hut and barrier there is a small track right, (can see on google satellite) nip in here and under the fence and meander back down the paths through the Botanical Gardens. Huge king protea in flower when we were there.

Beautiful walk up to the rock, little bit on the steep side, so be careful as it's gets slippery when wet.

New adventure found! Love that there is a picnic area right by the trail. This is perfect for those that aren't at the level for technical terrain but enjoy the outdoors.

(Translated by Google) Nice vantage point. You can drive on bumpy roads to the rocks. Then a short, steep hike to the summit. It's worth it! (Original) Schöner Aussichtspunkt. Man kann mit dem Auto auf etwas holprigen Straßen bis direkt an den Felsen fahren. Dann eine kurze, steile Wanderung bis zum Gipfel. Lohnt sich!

Definitely worth a visit. Spectacular views on a clear day, all the way to table mountain and then perfect 360 degree views all round of the Paarl valley and the mountains that sorround the valley. 2nd largest outcrop of granite globally, only surpassed by Yosemite Valley in California.
