Most people will stick to the part that is closest to the sea at this National Park. But the park, and adjacent lands, are huge. They offer a variety of panoramas. Don't stay on the main road if you want to see antelopes, ostriches and other wildlife. Explore the surroundings. You won't regret it.

Stunning park to explore, well maintained boardwalks and Lighthouse. Loved the iconic spot where where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet and the massive map of Africa. Beautiful landscapes and flora. Excited to see the shipwreck there too just off the shoreline. Roads were also well maintained. Now we can say we've visited the Southernmost tip of Africa!

Wow! If you are in Cape Town and have a rental car, who doesn’t want to drive to the southern most point of Africa where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet? Great drive, great views and boardwalks for walking about! Glad I made the effort!

There is really nothing quite like it, absolutely beautiful beach walks, wide open space to get some air, clear your head, and soak up the beautiful scenery. I highly recommend you get yourself down to the park, and enjoy. Safety is paramount, and there is no other place that is as safe as the Agulhas National Park. Beautiful

The natural beauty of the reserve is enough reason to visit, but the fact that the most southern point in Africa is located here makes this a must-see if you're in the area. There is a main road (suitable for all vehicle types) through the reserve as well as ample walking paths where you can take in the fresh ocean breeze. It is worth noting that the main walking paths are all wooden platforms and well maintained. During our visit there was no entrance fee, but I am not sure if this is Covid-19 related or if it is normally like this. Unfortunately the lighthouse was still closed when we visited, but hopefully they will open it again soon. With the current Covid-19 situation the reserve is still a great option as you can experience the beauty of the reserve from the comfort of your car.

Had a wonderful day out with the family, visiting Agulhus National Park, did the circular hike to the statue of where the two oceans meet, all along a wooden boardwalk right next to the Ocean, was stunning and quite refreshing, then afterwards took a short drive to the Shipwreck where at the Lighthouse and Museum Building will have more information about the ship and what happened, there's also picnic and braai facilities at this area, neat and clean ablution facilities are only at the parking lot and entrance up to the Lighthouse and Museum, shouldn't miss going up to the Lighthouse, like walking up a ladder to right on top, beautiful view from ontop, Museum is very informative

An absolute gem. This is a wonderful experience. Mix some beautiful flora and a lighthouse, add the ocean and the most southern tip of Africa and you are only half way to experience Agulhas National Park. Go check it out....

Nice park! was here to see the southern tip. -drove in, no fee or check point. The road to the shipreck had some construction going on. And the dirt road to the southern tip is very rocky.

This has been an exceptional experience that will stay with me for a long time. The quietness, the ocean the wide open spaces, it all added to the experience. A must see when you are in the Western Cape.

What a breathtaking and awe inspiring park! The cottages are absolutely beautiful and perfectly allocated to provide the most privacy and splendid sea views. Hiking trails are well marked. Birding opportunities are endless. Thank you to the lovely ladies at Reception for your friendly assistance. Was such a pleasure to liaise with you! We'll definitely be back as soon as we can!!

Hiking trail booklet good, but trail markings very very poor, and trail difficult to find in places. Lagoon house beautifully located. Please add details of the history of the house for visitors. Generally the rest camp is very nice, buy overpriced for the offering, which means it seems very very underutilized.

Great for geography enthusiasts, sentimental as this is the south most tip of Africa and where the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans "meet". Was lovely to finally get here. It is quite a drive and effort to get here though.

Beautiful place with a lot of history. We were there on a foggy evening and that made the lighthouse and wrecks seem all the more erie. This is the town before the park, but to get into the park from this entrance you need to have rented one of the little thatch roofed huts, which was also nice and well stocked for a weekend.

Just another one ticked off the bucket list..we stood at the furthest point of africa👌 The African monument on the ground was great idea. Information boards is very insightful. Overal it was a great experience indeed.

Worth the long drive from the main road. About 98km road from the main road but this was really worth it. I was too hesitant to go but this area is as beautiful 😍 as the rest of the garden route scenes. Worth it to go and nice spot for pictures too.

  • 5/5 Louis V. 1 year ago on Google

Lovely experience for the whole family with nicely maintained pathways and a topographical map of Africa to give some insights into the lay of the land. Definitely worth the trip, just remember to bring a jacket along as it can get quite windy.

Where 2 oceans meet. Southern most point in Africa. Light house is a well-known beacon on this rugged coastline. Must visit

What a BREATHtaking park! So peaceful & rich with History! I would highly recommend to get a small tast of their history. They have the second oldest Lighthouse in South Africa, as well as it the most Southern point of Africa! There are a couple of hiking trails to do, as you will see some incredible things, like a shipwreck ect.. We stayed in the Agulhas National Park for a couple of nights! It was truly hard for us to leave! ... it was really peaceful and you could just soak up the sea and all the Fynbos you are surrounded by. It is truly beautiful! Very clean and safe, fully suited with things you need, have a braai area, a fireplace, amazing shower(hot water), as well as a view of the ocean!

The location pin is incorrect - from Elim's side it took us on gravel farm roads where we really struggled to drive. We persevered and got to 5km from the reserve, but could drive further because of the thick vegetation. A disappointing drive

  • 5/5 Carien B. 10 months ago on Google
The boardwalk to the 'monument' is very well maintained. Would like the parking areas to be better indicated with some road signs etc. We did not know where to park etc. Some benches around the area will also be nice to sit and enjoy and take in the views. An official parking area will be great.

We had a fantastic stay at the park! From the moment I did the booking until the minute we left we can not fault the service we received from the friendly and competent staff. We stayed 2 nights in a 4 person cottage in Agulhas Rest Camp. The cottages are well equipped, incl good bedding, hot blankets and a lovely indoor fireplace which came in super handy. The kitchen has everything you need and the bathrooms are great with very good water pressure and super hot water. Fantastic nonstop ocean and fynbos views from inside the cottage as well as the front stoep. We did a coastal hike towards Brandfontein, turning at the 7km mark (total of 14km) and were so excited to find the fresh water seeping out of the sand dunes. We definitely will go back, there is so much rich history in this area.

Ist ein schöner Gedanke am südlichsten Punkt Afrikas zu stehen. Sonst ist es aber leider dort nicht besonders, es gibt nicht einmal eine Toilette. Ein eher sehr enttäuschender Nationalpark.

The road between Agulhas and Suiderstrand, and the gates of the Agulhus National Park in Suiderstrand is absolutely horrendous. Agulhas National Park road starts at the lighthouse. Wow, despite numerous complaints to the people concerned the road is not tarred or really made usuable for people with cars, the road takes away from the beauty of the ship wreck, and the iconic "Southern Tip of Africa. Lighthouse urgently needs maintenance, so do the road signs advising you that you are in Agulhas National Park.

👍👍 I initially wondered what would be special about visiting the Southern tip of Africa, but I shouldn't have.
