Love this market! I haven't been there in years but it used to be my go to market just for those delicious waffles! So glad I got to have them again :-). I also tried the Asian dumplings from the sushi stand, which had a generous amount of filling in each. I bought a sesame ball from the same Asian food stand which had a very sweet filling (perfect for dessert). There is a stand that sells Laffa's, I tried the Lamb one which was very tasty, plus the Chilli poppers at R20 each, which is actually worth it once you see that size compared to the small ones in restaurants charged at a much higher price. For drinks we had Long Island Iced Teas from the cocktail stand - it makes me wonder if all the Long Island Iced Tea cocktails I've previously had was made wrong, as it tasted so good! There is a new food truck that I so much wanted to order from (especially the nacho bowl), but I was too full so I will definitely try it next time. At the Mountain Brewing beer stand, we got to try some of the beers before purchasing which was cool - we bought the Cherry Stumpie beers after tasting. There is a stand with really affordable kids toys and the money also goes to a good cause so I will recommend having a look! On our way out we noticed a man sketching and asked him whether he can draw from family photo's, to which he answered yes at R300. I think this is a great idea for a gift! I would recommend going early to get a table as well as making sure you have cash on you, as some stands do not have a card machine or snap scan.

Lovely atmosphere and local Good selection of vendors, can do with a few more craft vendors Was extremely disturbed at the juice bar that we were made smoothies and fresh juice by a lady that neither sanitized or wore gloves Didn't want to make a scene so it ended in the bin For this reason I won't go back though and that is the reason for my poor rating because as long was we have Covid 19 around the organizers should be checking this

Sweet little arts and crafts market on Saturdays. Has food stands, clothes, flowers and other gifts and artifacts. There is plenty of parking and also an ATM. Worth the visit!

This market is an ideal Saturday morning outing- it is situated in Stellenbosch at the Oude Libertas amphitheatre, overlooking vineyards. There is always a buzz, and with the stalls selling anything from food to Turkish carpets, it is no wonder that it is mostly filled to capacity.I suggest that you grab a bite to eat with coffee or a glass of wine, if you need refreshing, after you have finished your shopping for the day. The slow market closes around 14h00, so make sure you come early. It is also a good idea to bring cash, as not all sellers have card facilities.

This market is small but is a must if you like good fresh food and refreshments....including a good beer. They have some really nice hand made clothing, bags, etc. too. We usually go there for the cakes and other foodstuffs :)

Great market. It's worth skipping breakfast 'at home' and instead buying something here and sitting down with some wine and enjoying it. Of course there is also jewelry, pictures, sculptures, skins... juices, bread, biltong, meat, etc. are definitely great. The whole area is clean and well maintained. Simply great and cozy.

Fantastic little market packed with home made goodies and great food. We found some stunning hand made glassware for our kitchen and had the most amazing wood fired oven baked pizza! P.S Check out the glassware! Beautiful stuff!

It was my first time as a vendor/attending this market. Its not that big but quite busy & the organizers/hosts, Roma & Philip, were most gracious & so helpful! I felt welcome & I LOVE the overall vibe of this well-run market. Thank You guys, you are appreciated!πŸ’ Great products & Delish Food on sale & there was a constant flow of patrons. As the market had been closed for a while, it was like attending a reunion of old friends if the "HELLOOOO, how Γ‘re you!!' between vendors & most customers were anything to go by...such a heartening atmosphere/experience in the times we find ourselves. Patchwork by Margaret will definitely be back here next week!

What a pathetic way to waste my Saturday morning. Firstly, it was difficult to understand why you would come to Stellenbosch to buy the typical ho-hum African art. Not local art, which would have been wonderful, but mostly from West Africa. Meh. Then, two wine stalls. Really. You are in Stellenbosch and you have two wine stalls? With untrained and bored proprietors to boot. We did have some good Mediterranean food which we ate in the car, as there was no ambience, no live music and little reason to stay a moment longer. Where is Stellenbosch Tourism? Do they care that this is offered as a Stellenbosch brand? Tourists should rather go to visit good wine farms than waste their time or money on this snoozefest.

We had a wonderful morning at the Market. So many nice things to choose from plus interesting food options. I would, however, like to see less single-use plastic (forks, knives, straws, Styrofoam, etc.) next time. This could easily be replaced with eco-friendly options. Thanks for a great experience.
