What a gem of a place. Wide open sky, beautiful koppies, awesome, crystal clear stars ⭐⭐⭐ the campsite is immaculate and the accommodation is well planned and perfectly cleaned. Staff is friendly and helpful. Birding is excellent! Breakfast is very good! I recommend this special park, one of my favourites 🥰

Excellent place to visit for desert lovers. Rooms were vintage but well maintained and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good too. I recommend planning a visit when the moon is new as the view of the stars are absolutely stunning.

We spent 4 days in the park and did something different everyday. Kids had a ball playing in the pool. You could see some of the animals from the cottages. Our guide Jan gave us an amazing safari drive. Overall everyone was super friendly. The breakfast was the only underwhelming thing but the staff in the restaurant where great. Loved the idea of the picnic spot and second pool being part of the self drive safari.

You not going to find the big 5 here but it's still an interesting park for avid wildlife lovers The park has 2 main routes, 1 pretty flat and the other through the mountains. The route closer to the gate takes about 45mins to drive on mostly tarred roads and the other route about 2.5hrs , obviously depending on game you see. Some views on longer route are spectacular. There are a few viewing points 1 can exit We were fortunate enough to see 2 lionesses on the shorter route. We were told there are 14 lions Also saw eland , zebra , red hartebeest, ostriches, kudu and the highlight the bat eared foxes we saw on 2 drives on the longer route The roads are generally in good condition and can be driven with any vehicle. There is also a fossil area with some really well preserved fossils There is a shop and restaurant at the reception building and accommodation which seemed to have amazing views

This is a beautiful park! The family cottage has 2 separate bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The bedrooms have air-conditioning as well. This park operates at an optimal level. They ensure that the restaurant stays in business by including breakfast in the booking. The food was delicious and packed with flavour. A variety to choose from as well. We went for dinner one night, and the venison curry and Karoo potjie were delicious! Most of the roads are 4x4 by we took the risk only with a high clearance vehicle and it was fine. The pool ensured a nice cool off after a drive. The nights are quite cool and during the day, it is hot. Each cottage has a nice stoep where you can enjoy the incredible view. This park is one of my top favourites of all SANparks!

Amazing scenery! Breathtaking views. Rooms are clean. Kitchen equipped with microwave oven, fridge, kettle, crockery and cutlery. Lovely gift shop. Friendly personnel. Only criticism is the restaurant's poor tasting and poorly presented food. Service is also not the best.

Great experience. Reception was warm and easy to process. Chalet was ready with everything in working order, not like Kruger National Park. Self drive routes well marked. Saw quite a few of the wild animals. Fossil route well maintained and marked. Interpretive centre with good displays of the history of the area and park.

August 22. Great park. Short way is good for tourism cars, the long way... 45 km ... Not good for our rental car Toyota Starlet. We arrived to the Hyena trap, where lions had been seen, but we've made a u turn. The road was too bad, good for 4x4. We'd almost seen all the listed animals! Bring good zoom cameras and binoculars.

Always wanted to go here. Slept over one night on the way back from Cape Town to Gauteng. Definitely a good stop to experience the Karoo in all it's glory. Chalets were very neat and clean (and very big). Enjoyed the typical Karoo food although service was a bit slow (probably normal for relaxed environment).

These open plains in the Great Karoo National Park host majestic animals and exciting surprises like the fossil trail and more. What's more, the famous Sylvester the lion story, which is housed in the interpretive centre , is both fascinating and unbelievable. Worth the visit.

I visited the Karoo in winter so the animal activity was prime! Stayed right in the park at one of their and the views from the patio were stunning. There is one main trail that pretty much any vehicle will be able to traverse but if you want to take some of the off-shoots you will most likely want a 4x4 or Truck/SUV.

Photographs cannot do justice to this spectacular landscape. A different experience to the KNP as animals are scarce, this Park is clean and well run. We stayed at Afsaal cottage in the Park, totally off-grid with a water hole in front of the cottage, it was an amazing experience. Afsaal cottage is well thought out, however if, like me, your idea of a torch is your iPhone, this may be too rustic for you.

Such a clean, and neat campsite. R Some roads are very corrugated and not maintained; small vehicles might have an unpleasant ride. There is a scenic 4x4 route I loved, and I think the best time to visit is in the winter.

Wonderful day spent, value for money at R60 per adult. I would recommend an early morning visit around 9am for a day visit. Klip springer pass is not for novice or nervous drivers. Once you reach the top of this scenic road, I reckon it is a turn around point for family vehicles. Great views... from here. Lammertjiesleegte is a cool drive and very easy drive for a family car. Once again some great scenic views for animal sightings along the route. Unfortunately some animals graze some distance from the road. I recommend you bring binoculars

Loved our stay here. The view was spectacular. The cottage was cute and cosy. The restaurant staff are so friendly, I just wish the food was a tad better. Reception staff are a bit slow and not friendly at all. All in all not a bad stay at all.

Wow what an experience! The staff were friendly and welcoming from the entry point. We enjoyed our experience. Excellent facilities and the discounted rate for SA nationals was a plus.

The location and spectacular natural scenery combined with total serenity and quiet, makes this a great escape. Comfortable self-catering accommodation with super breakfast included.

Stunning park, have both stayed in cottages and the spotlessly clean camping site multiple times, friendly staff, fabulous evenings at the restaurant, going back for a weekend on my birthday in November. An absolute getaway in nature.

Family Cottage has two big bedrooms; each with own huge bathroom. Well equiped kichen. Braai on stoep to watch the sun set. Loved the built in area for luggage. Renowed for the breakfast. Very friendly staff all around.

👍👍 We stayed one night but this lush haven in the grey Karoo was a beautiful site. Green grass to camp on and very well set up ablutions and a farm dam as swimming pool, kids loved it. Highly recommended for stopover on your way to Cape Town. Well priced.
