As
a
short-term
resident
of
three
months
in
the
delightful
town
of
Hermanus,
the
wonderfully
situated
Jewel
of
the
crown
of
hospitality
and
lodgings
has
to
be
the
Marine
hotel,
it
has
become,
our
go
to
place
for
myself,
my
wife,
Clare
and
my
mother
Phyllis,
I
have
been
in
senior
management/director,
in
many
of
the
leading
hotels
around
the
world
for
over
43
years,,
both
in
the
America’s,
Europe
and
Asia,
and
I
have
to
say
this
wonderful
establishment
does
not
disappoint,
the
team
here
go
above,
and
beyond,
even
on
Christmas
Day,
when
they
were
fully
booked,
they
managed
to
enable
that
we
got
in
and
we
enjoyed
the
most
wonderful
meal,
since
then,
we
are
now
regular
visitors,
for
coffee,
small
meals,
or
more
elaborate
meals,
the
real
heart
and
soul
of
the
place
has
to
be
the
wonderful
team
members,
led
by
the
charismatic
general
manager,
Michelle,
to
Emmanuel,
who
has
since
left
to
a
sister
property,
Patrick
,
Devon,
all
the
team
in
the
bar
and
restaurant
to
the
porters/car
parking
and
security,
Jacob,
and
Aloxsa
,
who
are
the
first
warming
people
you
meet,
and
one
particular
hidden
hero
has
to
be
Riddiwaan,
whose
infectious
smile
and
charm,
really
make
you
feel
humbled,
and
genuinely
welcomed,
he
is
a
real
credit
to
this
iconic
establishment
and
an
ambassador
for
the
hospitality
industry,
all
of
the
team.
I
would
have
been
proud
to
have
under
my
stewardship,
when
I
was
running
hotels
prior
to
my
retirement.
Thank
you
so
much
for
restoring
faith
into
the
hospitality
industry,
and
I
cannot
recommend
this
place
highly
enough.
