Luxurious accommodation, tastefully decorated and a practical layout. Ideally located to access shops and beaches on foot. Very well maintained and clean. A must for a holiday for a couple or family, even in winter. We had a great holiday experience.

Please see 2 updates below. Can't give this any stars because of their customer service, but have to give one to allow post. In January 2020 I booked 2 nights for November 2020 via Bookings.com and paid at the same time. Due to flight cancellations and SA government not allowing tourists to visit until February 2021, I cancelled booking late June 2020. Perla cancellation policy is to charge 10% when cancelled this early, which I am happy to pay. As yet (Mid August), no-one has had the decency to reply to my emails. BEWARE.... Please note. I was contacted 1 day after this post. They have been closed for several months due to Covid-19. They have now agreed to process a refund, so when received, I will amend this post. Update 27th Aug 2020. Today I have received the refund I requested just over a month ago. Due to closure of business due to Covid-19 then delays were to be expected, but no mention of this on the web site. Kate contacted me and has processed the refund so I have amended the rating. If we do manage to holiday in SA and stay here I will look to increase the rating if suitable

Amazing accommodation option! A symphony between cleanliness, elgantly decorated spaces and true luxury. First class host and staff. Can definitely recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in the greater Hermanus region.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation. Immaculate, well located (we walked to dinner every night and walked to cliff paths in the morning). We love Hermanus and will definitely be back @ Perla. This was really a treat for my wife and I.

Absolutely LOVED Perla. Luxury accommodation, everything you could possibly need or want, and 2 minutes walk to town. Furthermore, Kate is the most incredible hostess - nothing is too much trouble. I couldn't fault it - definitely the best place we stayed in South Africa.

Unfortunately we cannot recommend the Perla accommodation and I would be happy to explain why. We had a booking at Perla at the end of November 2021 when the new Omicron variant was identified in South Africa. That's why we decided to shorten our stay. This meant that we had to leave a day earlier than booked and discussed with Kate whether a refund would be possible. She spoke to the owners and replied there was no problem. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed our time in Hermanus. Back in Germany, I contacted Kate about the refund. From then on the good customer service was over. At first there was no response at all. It was later said that our chat history had been accidentally archived and that she wanted to take care of everything as quickly as possible. But that was it. Further messages from me were no longer replied to. We never received a refund. I would like to make clear that we were not entitled to a refund and that would have been completely fine. However, if we discuss something else, I expect that it will be adhered to and not that my message will be ignored or perhaps even blocked. Unfortunately, it's a shame!

Absolute heaven on earth for a weekend get away. Location is great, walking distance from the city centre and waterfront - absolute must for whale watching.

Excellent unit and fantastic check in process with the host. Close to the heart of Hermanus. Great deal for a family
