I stayed at the Springfontein River Lodge for 3 days and I loved it. It’s the perfect place to calm down and enjoy South Africans impressive nature. The lodge has direct access to the river and offers a stunning view of the mountains. I will definitely come back to this place one day.

Beautiful property right on the river. Spectacular views of the mountains and lagoon area towards the ocean. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Make sure you visit the jetty and dip your toes (or your body) into the river. It is also possible to arrange a boat trip on the river with departure and drop off right in front of the house. Within close proximity of the Springfontein Wine Estate where you will find a fine dining restaurant as well as Ulumbaza Wine pair with a la carte food options. Service is exceptional throughout.

Beauiful lodge at the edge of the Kleinriver. Rooms are a little outdated but the nature is making everything at this place. Also, the people are great!

Having visited Stanford River Lodge many times before, it has become almost home from home! We love it - tranquil, with stunning scenery and the opportunity to fall out of bed into a canoe in the early mornings to inspect the local bird life is a major draw. Even the fish eagles are obliging. We had a family gathering using the sparkling clean self-catering units Otter, Porcupine and River View which made things very comfortable for a group. Juanita and her assistants did a marvellous job in ensuring we had everything we needed - super helpful. Wild horses won't hold us back ... we will return! Trish and David, UK

My wife and I enjoyed a peaceful three night stay at Stanford River Lodge. Juanita was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area and tourist attractions. She even booked a table at a local restaurant and cooked us a delicious meal another evening. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing retreat.

We very much enjoyed our stay in your lodge, the accommodation was exactly as in the photos, very clean and all we needed. The view stunning, very peaceful and we had a great weather. We highly recommend your lodge and hope we will be back. TV could be a little bigger...too small and too far to see from the bed.

Spent my honeymoon in the kingfisher suite. We arrived quite late the evening of the wedding so couldn't appreciate much at the time. We woke up to the most amazing view from the bed, overlooking the mountains and the river crossing just below it. The location is spectacularly tranquil, the service is awesome. I'd definitely go back for our anniversary. Fun activities on the property. Truly a small Peice of heaven on earth.

Beautiful view over the Klein River. Wide selection of wines just across the road at Springfontein winery with good meals.

We stayed at the Fisherman's Cottage for two nights. Such a cute little cottage with a lot of charm. Nicely renovated inside with big fireplace in the bedroom, underfloor heating, heated towel rail and beautifully renovated bathroom. A short walk from Springfontein Eats where we enjoyed a lovely complimentary breakfast in the mornings. Do book a dinner with them during your stay. The service was great, even the resident cat, Sokkies, was a pleasure to meet! Great weekend getaway location if you're looking for some peace and quiet to relax, and watch a spectacular starry night sky. The surrounding Stanford village is filled with things to do and see. Lots of wine tasting opportunities! We'll be back!

I decided to treat some friends for an overnight trip to Stanford and chose Springfontein Sleeps for the evenings accommodation. I can honestly say that the bar has been set high and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in the area - we had a fantastic time! The cottages were booked so we had to settle for the suites which were absolutely beautiful. Neat, tidy and spacious, not to mention situated away from the restaurant and farms social areas making it private and feel like we had the place to ourselves. What stood out most of all was how accommodating the host was allowing us to bring our own little braai along and the friendliness of the staff. I have to especially mention Elizabeth who kept us entertained at the Bar(n) and had us in stitches as well as the chef Mfini who personally came out to make sure our food was on par and we were happy. We will be back, that's a promise!

Sady very below expectations. Toilets not working, uncomfortable beds, our bathroom hadn't been cleaned and no soap. Missing towels in some rooms. Very odd decor in the Lodge might not appeal to everyone. Restaurant breakfast was good but very disorganized and meals were mixed up. Otherwise meals were average. Staff really tried to correct issues but toilets not working is a no-no and there was a persistent odour as a result.

Lovely estate. Stayed in the fisherman's house which was quaint and cosy. The morning sun greets the terrace which made for a perfect start to the day with some coffee. All modern comforts are present. The fireplace adds that extra touch of warmth on colder nights. Service was outstanding. Perfect getaway.
