What a marvellous B&B, if you are around the Gaansbai area I highly recommend you book a night in The Bay Lodge. The owner is such a wonderful and delightful lady, it was a joy chatting with her about our plans for the day and hearing all her recommendations. She kindly booked a table for dinner in one of the restaurants in town and prepared a super nice breakfast for us in the morning. The house is situated right in front of the sea and we were lucky to have a room with a balcony with gorgeous views, so I would suggest trying to book that one in particular and of course, don't forget to be there for the sunset! All in all, he house is spacious and clean, and our room was beautifully decorated.

While my family and I had a great time together, the facility and hosting didn't not contribute much to that. There was a mix-up with our booking, and though were not charged for the nights in an alternative room, I would much rather have paid, since the proximity to the neighbours in this new room was unsettling, and the assigned (not en-suite) bathroom was inconvenient. Hot water was a problem in two of the three rooms we booked. Our host was kind and attentive to her guests, but became flustered when we requested fried eggs for breakfast, and could be heard being short with her employees. The two women who cooked breakfast and cleaned the rooms were pleasant and extremely helpful. In the rooms we actually booked, the beds were comfortable and the views were beautiful. The WiFi was weak but it was there. Bring your own bottled water.

Very nice B&B located in a super-quiet and beautiful area of Gansbaai. Our room was not too big, but very nicely decorated and very clean. The owner was very helpful in organising dinner for us the two nights we stayed with her and her recommendations were excellent. I highly recommend The Bay Lodge!

The Bay lodge was amazing. Villeria was very responsive to all emails and helped us book our shark diving tour. The rooms were clean and neat. The view is also amazing. Best to get a room on the top floor. Villeria was very kind to us, allowing us to come back to use the shower room after our shark diving tour as well. Thank you Villeria! I will recommend everyone to stay here if you can!

Amazing host, clean super bright and spacious rooms with views of the sea. And a great breakfast in the morning. Will definatly come back.

Very friendly lady that runs this nice homemade breakfast rooms are quite spacious and comfortable and close to the sea and some rooms have sea facing balconies we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here
