This is a long one... Usually one associates takeaways with hopping in and hopping out. It is at least in my opinion not so much about the experience and atmosphere of the place. FISH EXPRESS however exceeds my expectations in every way! Their food is loaded, they aren't stingy with the portions. The customer care is topnotch! The owner takes pride in his craft and his business and this can be seen by the way he not only treats customers but his staff! I cannot recommend them more! An added benefit is that even through loadshedding the deliver! 5 stars no doubt!

Stumbled across Fish Express on a visit to Vermont from Hermanus. Happy we did! A beautiful place with friendly staff! Barend, the owner is friendly and welcoming. I loved the rocky road display, the story that goes with it. What a wonderful way to grow up with entrepreneur lessons. The vetkoek smells extremely delicious and the taste lived up to the smell!! This place has the best fish and chips in town. Portions are large and come with copious amounts of chips. Calamari is tender. Fishcakes also highly recommended. There is usually a wait at mealtimes, but one can phone ahead and order. Staff are also cheery and friendly.

We've had some on/off experiences with Fish Express over the years, but I must say that recently they've upped their game. The shop was very busy but we received our food fairly quickly and our takeaways were brought out to us. The calamari was exceptional, as was the fish. Chips well-drained and not oily at all. The rice and tartare are also delicious.

WOW WOW WOW... The best Calamari burger I ever had. Will definitely visit this awesome shop again. If you want the best food in the Western Cape. You need to visit this shop, you won't be disappointed.

What a lovely experience at this pretty place ,a definite must if you ever visit Onrus..near Hermanus..friendly staff..lovely food..

Fish Express is a really great local Onrus establishment. Barend, the owner, is the friendliest guy who, together with his fantastic staff, makes a wonderful selection of easy-going seafood at really great prices. He has been serving the Onrus community for over 20 years. Well worth the visit. Grab a fish and chips, and head over to Hardebaai or Onrus beach for a nice lunch, or eat at the cafe. Enjoy!

Despite not being close to the beach, this delightful eatery serves THE most delicious fish and chips, and is our preferred seafood supplier in the area!

You can’t get fresher food. Had the grilled hake and Calamari combo and a calamari main. One with savoury rice and one with chips. Not oily at all! Might be the best I’ve ever had and service was fast and friendly!!! It’s a must.

The best fish cakes I have ever had. Ever ever. I think it had a potato base, which made it light and flavourful. It has lots of fish in and it is seasoned to perfection. Something I will recommend to anybody.

Highly impressed by the quality of the food. Chips weren't oily, was crispy. Hake was cleaned perfectly, batter was perfect and fish was so fresh it was still swimming. Service was also great. I would return to Onrus just to grab a bite to eat from this fisheries.

Staff were rude and not willing to take order over lunch time when I was there a few months ago. I am therefor unable to give proper feedback on the food. I was asked to come back in an hour.
