It is a very nice place,clean all around with very high security.There is lot of Cameras around the place.A very nice parking for motorbike drivers and adminstrations

Useless shop, especially the butcher. Asked for sirloin steak. Butcher tells me this is sirloin. Get home with club steaks without the bone. Well done Checkers, you keep on disappointing. Your staff needs training, all of them. No human relationship. Managers also need to up there game.

My 1st time there ever. Was there for the weekend. The clients would walk you of off the way. The staff is so unfriendly. I told myself. I will never go there again or recommend anyone to go there. Hermanus is where Alot of people come go a get away. Then they have to face this. I'm ashamed as a South African, we are not like this. Not one staff member was friendly we were in contact with

Checkers overall is good. Customer service is lacking. The 60/60 shoppers push other customers out of the way. Unfriendly shelf packing people... Unhelpful and pushy.

A pleasant experience here, store is very neat and well laid out. Not crammed at all and quite modern.

We have two amazing Checkers in Hermanus which also deliver at home. This is the second biggest one in town. In town is the bigger most recently upgraded one. But they have everything and we have never had any problems with shortages or quality of produce or prices. Well done

A fabulous Checkers with everything you could need. I sometimes feel the price and variety of vegetables could be improved. Prices seem high and selection not great. Following a refurb it now has that awful, soft tiled floor where the tiles have already started lifting giving an uneven surface. In some places they are being glued down. I am not sure what they were thinking when going for this option throughout their stores.

Checkers has a great deli, a great variety of cheeses and their meat section is really good. Their pricing is on par with other super markets. They could do better in the veggie and fruit department

Hermanus, on its own, is clean. The shops are spacious, very neat, Checkers is one of my favorites. They always have amazing specials that really help, especially when one is on a tight budget.

No stock renewal after more than a week is a problem. But otherwise all good

What a well stocked, helpful staff and clean Checkers and Centre to shop. Shelves are stocked to capacity and isles spacious and kept clean. Such a pleasure to shop here. I would recommend it anytime, and although the centre was packed over the Christmas season, I did not experience one incident or uncomfortable situation.

The store is great and a 1-stop shop, but the service counter staff, and the cashiers (apart from 1 or 2) are so miserable, non-communicative and even sometimes rude! I often think "why do they even come to work if they are like they are". A real pity, and we just tolerate it now, as we do our weekly shop here, but we are now starting to move our spend to Woolworths and Food Lovers where we can. Inform the staff that they are in a service industry, and it costs nothing to greet a customer correctly, smile and even be enthusiastic. I have mentioned this to Management, but has not made any difference. Till packers would also speed up the checkout queue process, or add more cashiers. I do not mind packing my own groceries, but in peak times, open more tills, to ensure a more memorable and enjoyable shopping experience.

As always a very well-stocked supermarket. The store and lighting ambiance is well designed. The deli is a great place to hang out with your buddy light meal and coffee.

Even today was a good day in that the queues were super fast (considering it was a long weekend with many visitors), the joy of this rare occurrence was quickly diminished by teller/cashier who could barely bother to greet you, who just swished card machine in your direction for payment and then handed you the till slip without so much as looking up with neither a thank you/goodbye😕

Unfortunately not a great experience. Although the shop has everything I need, it is frustrating moving through the Isles while there are boxes standing around as if it was busy being unpacked and then left unattended. And this doesn't just happened once, but every time. It is a very busy shop which makes it hard to move between the isles and an unpleasant shopping experience.

An extremely well-stocked supermarket with plenty of options to choose from. My only criticism is that the aisles are quite narrow so the supermarket feels busy even when it isn't as you have to squeeze past other people when you're in the same aisle.

I expected better the way they have changed the place but the fast foods are still Checkers the chicken tasted like they knew the public working on construction etc. staff is buying it that was my honest opinion when I tasted it!!

People are always friendly and willing to help out, There was a special on Nescafe Gold Espresso, buy 2 get 1 free. I only found two. However, they were willing to give me a bottle of Antigua to test out in replace of the extra Nescafe that was out of stock

Really disappointed. Once again they don't have the items on Special in store. This time it was the Nescafe Cappuccino 20 box. Much displeased. Always out of stock. Even asked to check in thr store. Last time was Bubbles chips

Big beautiful checkers with lots of tills but very very slow cashiers. Waited unnecessarily long

I had such a wonderful experience at this checkers a few years ago. My blind husband and I went today, with his guide dog and I wanted to show him around. The security guard detained my husband and said HE WAS NOT ALLOWED IN WITH A GUIDE DOG and needed to contact his manager. By the time this happened I had shopped alone, and we missed out on together shopping. My experience of this has been one of discrimination, lack of empathy and no apology despite them not being law abiding. I'm so upset and disappointed. I had really been looking forward to this. Checkers please educate your staff and security staff. Nobody should be discriminated against the way you have. Jackie Opperman.

I had a problem with my Checkers card, and Sindy, the supervisor, helped me with such kindness and professionalism. The store is beautifully clean and well stocked. It even has a little coffee shop.

Good shop, glad to see the staff attitudes are improving slowly. Need to work on stuff standing around. These are pictures of stuff where staff was not busy with it. Just abandoned, making customers struggle around it.

Huge store with a wide variety of products and many tills to enable you to but, pay and get going quick and fast.

Did not think there was a Checkers worse than Somerset Mall, but I found it. No one interested in helping a customer. Employees all just chatting to each other. Awful experience! And still here waiting fir service.

Easy shopping. Always find what I'm looking for. Don't expect to much from service side as I always run in and out at busy times

Absolutely stunning experience! As a constant Checkers shopper, this is by far the most beautiful branch that I have ever been to! It felt like I was inside an extremely classy supermarket. The shop is super clean, neat, well stocked and they have the friendliest staff. Their shelves are beautifully packed and it makes you want to spend more time inside the shop, just looking at all the beautiful arrangements. Very happy customer, thank you! 🥰🥰🥰

Update: Kudos to Checkers for following up on this today. Both the regional manager and the store manager have responded, which I appreciate, and they have sorted out the problematic purchase. Five Star response to the complaint - here's hoping in the longer term floor staff will be better trained. Original: The staff at this store have proven themselves over a long period of time to be poorly trained and utterly incompetent. Packers will regularly place fragile items like eggs, tomatoes and bread at the bottom of a bag and pack harder items on top of these. They can't even get labelling of items correct. I got to the till with mince pies today and the item couldn't be scanned as it wasn't labelled. I got home with my shopping today to find I had been charged the exhorbitant cost of loose red peppers for a sweet potato! A call to the store and the management this afternoon has yielded no result. To add insult to injury, the sweet potato is labelled "Sell by 01 Jan", but that's my bad for not checking. However, why is this item still on the shelf 5 DAYS LATER?

It's overtaken all the competition. Reliable quality and freshness. Prices good. Fantastic specials. Almost a one stop shop. And you even sit down for a coffee with a R5 warm pancake.

Lost count of how many times my grocery has been damaged by packers at the till points - and don't you dare say thank you, but I'll rather pack it myself. Long, slow moving ques. Never enough till points open during busy times. Honestly getting tired of finding items well past the sell by / best before date on shelves - clearly indicating no quality control. And my personal favourite: they charge you R33 for a pie that is burnt on top and raw at the bottom.

Great store with all you need but cashiers need serious people skills training. Unfriendly and even rude. Take a lesson from Woolies staff. Checkers please do something.

Clean, organized, well stocked and neat! Personally i dont like the new queuing barricades, it gets a bit tricky when someone wants to pass you and your trolley...

Mall has 4 entrances. Signs of shops are visible. Ample parking. Working lifts.

Absolutely love this checkers! The deli is great for a quick coffee or lunch and the sushi is to die for. Worth the drive from Kleinmond to come shop there.
