Coffee & food amazing... just the staff attitude sucks. After waiter getting upset at putting the wrong order down before us. Then taking away... me and my husband saying sorry even thru not our error. Bad way to start our first wedding anniversary brunch....

Definitely the most expensive Pasteis de Nata we've ever had at R35 and whilst it was delicious, not worth that amount. The coffee was fine. The service was neither good nor bad but didn't have much interaction. Overall, not blown away and don't think we'll be back. There are other places to try.

I love Oscars. Today I was very disappointed. We ordered a lovely muffin and a potatoe and spinach tart with two milkshakes. The food arrived. After 20 minutes no milkshakes. We asked for a refund and left. Very sad 😔 So a year down the line and nothing has changed. This is the second time in so many months I was served tea in a broken teapot. Service has gone down. Management has taken their eye of the ball. Next time we will walk a bit further. No Management on sight to complain to

I was ordering food and a coffee and quickly wanted to send an email. I was RUDELY told by staff no laptops here because they would like to turn tables faster. They were also only 10% full so it doesn’t make any sense. Additionally the son was working alone at the biggest table in the establishment. Rude and unnecessary, won’t be back here.

I recently had an unfortunate experience at Oskars in Hermanus. I had my laptop with me, hoping to enjoy a coffee and breakfast while working, which I usually do during my business trips to the area. However, I was disappointed to find out that laptops are not allowed on the premises. The way this policy was enforced left me feeling unwelcome and frustrated. It felt like a draconian approach, leaving me with no choice but to leave. As someone who frequents Hermanus for business and leisure, I had planned to spend some time at Oskars during my visits. The no laptop policy, while understandable to some extent, seems to deter potential customers like me who value both good food and a conducive environment to work. It would be great if Oskars could reconsider their approach to this policy. Perhaps setting a spend or time limit for laptop usage could strike a balance between accommodating various customers' needs and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I won't be considering Oskars for any of my future trips, and my family will also be exploring alternative options. I hope that this feedback encourages Oskars to reflect on their policies and possibly make adjustments that could positively impact their customers' experiences.

I found a piece of plastic in my "good morning sunshine" meal. How does something like this happen! There's also a policy banning laptops. I wouldn't recommend this place. It looks wonderful but isn't.

Absolutely delicious salmon Benedict 😋 the best in hermanus and might I say in the top 10 in western cape. It's my go to place for the past 5yrs....

A great spot for a quick morning takeaway breakfast! They were also the only open coffee shop we could find early in the morning in this street. Very good baked treats!

Been here twice this week to eat. Both times the staff at the till made me feel like im bothering them. Very short and unwelcoming. I ordered food, and my plan was to have a coffee and cake after my food. I have some emails to send but I was told very sharply that laptops are NOT allowed. I understand if you have somebody sitting all day and not ordering or if you need the table and have people queuing; but there were 5 free tables around me!! Perhaps instil a 1.5 hour table seating time if somebody is ordering food and drink the whole time. Now I must go and find somewhere else to have coffee. Such a shame because really such a lovely coffee shop with very nice food!

Great concept! Great coffee! As it should be! A great variety of food options to choose from, all freshly baked. Service is great. Friendly and helpful. Ample parking space available close by. Try to sit outside and enjoy the sound of the ocean Close by.

Lovely place to sit, have your breakfast and relax for a while. The cappucino with oat milk is really great. I also had the breakfast bagle with salmon and the Pastei de Nata - definitely a recommondation. The stuff is friendly and welcoming. Only the toilet is a little riddle to find.

Had the most yummy apple feta muffin. My first visit to this bakery, and the small quiches I took home for lunch later on were just as scrumptious. I can see why people say good things about Oskars. Parking is also super convenient.

Never got to experience this coffee shop because as we sat down my companion took out his laptop to check some emails, we were informed that laptops are not allowed by a surly and smile free waitress. The laptop would have been out about 5 minutes but apparently this is not allowed. Went next door and had excellent coffee and croissants. Sorry for you but Oskar will never see us again.

I have been coming to Oskars Even before my baby was born but we are frequent customers and the staff never forget us! Every time we come in we get greeted with huge smiles and greeting my now almost 1 year old by name. We love coming to Oskars every time were in the area, we LOVE the laptop ban, it creates a chilled and laid back atmosphere to enjoy your coffee and croissant. Thank you for a wonderful space we come back to time and time again x

I've been there a few times in march and April. The staff was never smiling. Therefore you dont feel really welcome. The cakes, breakfast and coffee was always delicious. That I can definitely recommend. Prices are in range

Bright and clean cafe - pop in and go. Fantastic apple crumble and good coffee. Definately recommend. A bit noisy, due to tiles on walls, but it also helps to keep the place really clean.

Great food, excellent coffee, staff were great and efficient but not overwhelming. Was open early when nothing else was! Good find and a nice stop. Would recommend!

We have been here twice now. The food is good and the service is quick, but the staff are rather unfriendly. No smiles and barely a thank you for a nice tip etc. Both times and with all the staff members we interacted with. Unfortunately it really takes away from the experience.

My favourite coffee shop and bakery in Hermanus. They offer multiple GLUTEN FREE options at any time of the day. Their (self baked) gluten free bread is the best I have ever had! It was dense and didn't fall to pieces like a lot of GF bread does. The coffee is also very good.

Firstly let me say that the food was very good, but the staff who work here (barring the friendly barista), were nothing short of unwelcoming, completely miserable and rude, and made my husband and I feel like we were the biggest inconvenience. So much so that we very nearly left to go somewhere else. We frequent Hermanus often as we have family and friends who live there, so this was incredibly disappointing. A simple thing like asking what fruit juice are available, was met with “look at the menu!”. I have never felt that unwelcome in a restaurant before and frankly it will take a lot for me to go back. I’m not sure what was going on there, but the owner of Oskar’s needs to know how much his staff let him down, which is a pity since the bakery is so wonderful.

Great food, great coffee, and great service! Highly recommend for an easy yet really nice spot for grab some breakfast! Also, grab some kombucha on your way out, the ginger rooibos and pomegranate rooibos were great!

Really great position, busy little coffee shop with indoor seating and small counter style seating as well as outdoor tables. Delicious cakes and savouries and really good coffee. Water fountain for free, self service water top ups. Went back today to buy takeaway pastei de nata and the choc as well as carrot cake. Operates during loadshedding.

One of the best croissants i have ever had. Everything is made on premises. Highly recommend. So many mouth watering choices, top knotch.

This is definitely the best breakfast place in Hermanus! Incredible Deluxe coffee, very kind ladies in the FOH, and delicious food. Oskars still operates during loadshedding. Would highly recommend coming here!
